it's very sad to see another volkswagen place, close its doors. It is getting harder to find places like this thank you for serving the Volkswagen community over the last 40 years. He will most definitely be missed by all of the volkswagen community REST IN PEACE BROTHER.
The guy that runs this place literally knows everything! He always takes care of his customers. He treats them like family. He lives really close to the business so goes home to take care of his handicapped dogs later in the day. If he is not there in the afternoon, you can call his cell phone number posted on the business door and he will even make a special trip to come in for you. What a great guy! You just don’t get service like this anymore. Not 5, but 1000 stars!
How does this business make it? 2pm on Wednesday, doors locked, no one around.. I guess I will take my chances with the internet. It's unfortunate because I am ready to drop some cash on parts.
Visited for the first time, loved it. If you have a vw bug or bus this is your one stop parts store. The owner knows his VW's so you know you're going to the right place.
I have been doing great business here for six years and always have a great experience. Great prices and Bruce is always willing and able to help with all questions and needs. I've gotten many parts for my 74 Beetle, some for and 82 diesel Rabbit, and even an emergency part for my 2000 TDI Jetta. Bruce was always very helpful and able to answer questions about installation of parts, even on my newer Jetta. If you have any Volkswagen needs, especially aircooled, this is the place.
Good place for air-cooled VW parts and not bad for water-cooled VWs. Owner if is nice, helpful, engaging and likes to joke around. They sell both used original parts and new Empi parts. Prices for original parts are great to very reasonable, reasonable selection...and Empi parts are very reasonable for brick and motar store. Gives discounts to regular customers. Only negatives are that Empi is almost all they sell in terms of new parts, and weekend hours are too short. Most of can only work on our cars on weekends and if you don't get what you need Sat before noon, your out of luck 'til Tues. Other than House of Ghia, only game in town for air-cooled VW parts.
I have been shopping at Autocraft for several years, ever since i had to buy some weber carb parts for an old toyota i had. (i have since worked on several vws including a 66 bug, 68 bug, and 69 squareback). Like previously stated, Bruce is the man! He is always so willing to help and has fun antics and stories to tell! You will get a great deal, as well as some really helpful advice if you have any questions about your vintage vw. And the prices are almost too good to be true at times!

Had to buy a new fender for my '72 VW Bug and Bruce gave me the best price and gave me brand new automatically adjusting seatbelts for my car for the lowest price I'd ever seen. He's a great guy, gave me some tips, taught me how to install everything the best way and continues to help me. He even boasts about me to his friends how a teenage girl installed auto adjusting seatbelts perfectly the first try. I get all my parts here and get all my questions answered. Such a great place.
Seriously the best prices around for your air cooled VW. Bruce helped me out so much on what parts I needed, and even told me how to install them. Will definitely be returning here for future parts.
