STEVE may not have ended up towing/helping us, but he absolutely deserves FIVE stars...and then some.
My boyfriend was stranded on road 30 miles from Jordan Valley, with his dog and a broken jack after getting a flat tire. Barely any cell service and no traffic coming through as evening was approaching. To make things more stressful, I was coordinating everything from many states away, relaying information between them because my boyfriend could barely hold a signal long enough to make calls himself. After the nearest gas station and another towing company couldn't help, we were referred to Steve at Owyhee Towing & Recovery.
From the moment I reached him, Steve was a lifeline. He was already done for the day, but without hesitation, he was willing to drive hours to reach my boyfriend in the middle of nowhere using GPS coordinates. Before committing, he made multiple calls on our behalf trying to find a closer, cheaper option for us. He genuinely wanted the best outcome for us, not just a job. When nothing else panned out, he was ready to go, and gave me a clear fee upfront so there were no surprises.
We ended up finding a solution on our own, but knowing Steve was in our corner made an incredibly stressful situation bearable. He stayed responsive over text and phone calls with me the entire time, he never made us feel like we were on our own.
In a remote area where help is hard to find, Steve showed up with kindness, patience, and real humanity. That's worth recognizing. If you're ever in a bind out in Owyhee County, Steve is the person you want on the other end of the phone.
I want to know why a company thinks it’s ok to agree to tow your truck to your yard bye to a medical emergency but instead tows it to their yard to scam you out of money, the clown told me that I couldn’t afford the tow bill,
I told him I had towing insurance and he told me he doesn’t take tow insurance ,
Think I’ll report them to the better buisness bureau
Steve and Jasmine were great! Super helpful and answered all our questions. A cow ended up coming towards the highway and hit our truck. We still needed an hour left to get home and we knew we weren’t going to make it back. Found a tow company that was 24 hours in Jordan valley. Which really saved us! They really do care about the customers and I am happy we were able to find them to help us out. 10/10 highly recommend.
My husband broke down before midnight 10 miles west of Jordan Valley, OR, with no cell service. (411 worked from his cell phone, and the responders were able to get word to me. Fantastic partnership and response all around from the Malheur County Sheriff's Dept and the Oregon State Police!) They also connected my husband to our insurance company to request a tow for which we have coverage. The distance is 80 miles. The roadside service company our insurance company contracts with left my husband sitting on the shoulder of the road with no communication for 13 hours while they tried to negotiate with tow services. When they specifically told me they couldn't find anyone to go, I started making my own calls and immediately found Owyhee Towing & Recovery who advertise Jordan Valley coverage. Steve stood by until I determined too much time had lapsed and asked him to go. His driver was also fantastic. Of course an 80 mile tow is not cheap, but it was certainly fair and they were on it the moment I said, please go. Thank you, Steve and team! We appreciate your quick response to solve our dilemma!
I wrecked my car, and Steve drove two hours there and back trip to help me out. He was incredibly accommodating—he even came to the market where I was to talk through the plan for my car. Super nice and flexible, too. I decided to have him scrap the car, and he gave me a great price for the tow, especially considering the distance he drove. He took me to and from the mart so I could grab my things from the car, gave me a trash bag, and even helped me take out my stereo. After such a long, stressful day, it meant a lot to have someone so kind and helpful there. Steve, you are awesome! Thanks for making a tough situation way easier to handle.
This company was truly a life saver. Driving home on a 1k+ mile drive from my grandfathers funeral and my wheel bearing went out. No service, no way of driving a lil further to get signal, but all of a sudden they pull up. Asked the issue and offered their assistance, especially at a reasonable price. Even allowed my dog to ride with us when I know back home drivers wouldn't be so accomodating. From start to finish with my interaction it was all positive. Even checking on others who may or may not be stranded, that is dedication to the job, but also being a good person and making sure we all are okay. I would recommend this company 100%, you won't fine more genuine and professional people elsewhere.
I called and needed a tow for my own tow truck. He came for the vehicle that ran into our rollbed. Took our customer to their destiation. Steve has been very helpful to our business. Since we lack a heavy wrecker, for semi wrecks, he has made our community safer with his presence. We've been in Jordan Valley for almost 20 years, have been in business for about that long. Owyhee Towing is on the police rotation roster the same as JVRepair. I firmly recommend Steve's equipment, employees, and trustworthiness. Call when you need him
