This campground is beautiful. Campground. Camp host was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Horseshoes out to play with up front. Wifi to connect to in the horseshoe area. Plenty of wildlife. Big campsites. Does a gazebo for parties that can be booked.

I didn't get to stay long enough to enjoy what this campsite had to offer but I got an amazing sunrise to watch after driving 5 hours the night before, the bathrooms were clean and the small hike the the water was very refreshing. ?

While this looked like a absolutely beautiful campground setting and we were looking forward to a night in the river...as soon as I pulled in the entrance I saw 3 off leash dogs( literally in front of the "leashes required " sign. Campground host walked over to greet me with her off leash lab, my dogs were going crazy seeing dogs running all over and coming right up to my door. I was told there were a few open spots and I could use the wifi there to make a reservation online. But I mentioned the off leash dogs were a reason for me not to stay. She explained it was just for a little bit because of the camper checking in had a lab too ?♀️?♀️?♀️

Our family camped there last week for my daughters 22nd birthday. The lady camp host was amazing and super friendly. We’ll be back.

Excellent campgrounds that were clean, forested, and some have paths that go directly down to the river. Vault toilets didn’t smell like death and had sanitizer.heads up no cell service. 4 stars because the road across the river is so loud in the morning. Out of everyone’s control obvi but still

Very well maintained campground. I have never seen cleaner, more well kept vault toilets. Nice pretty easy access to the river. And no smoke!

Nice, clean campground right by the river. The vault toilets were the nicest we had the entire trip. Not very big which kept it nice and quiet on a Friday night.

Well maintained campground. Parking sites for large RVs are a bit uneven. Lovely spot on the Umpqua River. A bit noisy at times w traffic on 138 across the river when the river is low as in September 2022

Clean pit toilets, easy river access, generous tent pad and lots of space between camps. Lots of fish and lots of forest to play in for the kids. River is easy swimming and floating, lots of giant eddies in the rocks. I don't recommend diving because of the rocks. Rafts and floats would be great here. Super friendly onsite volunteers. The road signs to the campground aren't horrible to find.

This is a great campground and recreation site. There are two factors that preclude a 5-star rating: the trails are in bad condition and the vault toilets are a RomTec knockoff, so they have odor issues that would have been solved by going with actual RomTec. Not the fault of the campground, but it seems to be quite popular with somewhat trashy people. We heard a lot of very foul language late at night (after quiet hours) and cigarette butts all over the place. The previous week, we had stayed at Susan Creek, so we know that this is not a BLM-wide problem.

We have been going to Tyee campground for well over 30 years and live less than a quarter mile from it. It is a small county park nestled in among the trees. Its a great place to go for a short walk and has good access to the Umpqua even for the little ones. Lots of rocks to run around on and a scary "chute" to ride a tube through. The chute is not for everyone---be certain!

Beautiful little campground. Some great sites. Host is very nice and they have the best smelling pit toilets I've ever used! Will definitely be going out again!! And we live less then 30 minutes away!

Amazing little campground, I camp hosts to do an amazing job Of maintaining the entire campground. The bathrooms were kept immaculate, it seems like the host checks them five or six times a day. Beautiful spot along the river with easy river access

nice set up and fairly convenient if you are traveling south to coos bay. great campsite set up very flat plenty of room for two tents - but here is the drawback ( HWY 138 is about 200-300 yards away just across the river and there is a large saw mill where log trucks are very active on this rd AT ALL HOURS a lot of compression braking heading in to the turns there rolling and booming through the river canyon)

Gets too loud and uncontrolled at times. We hear it all the way down where we are and get their campers floating down the river drunk and obnoxious fairly often in the summer and we won't recommend it to non-party people. We get trash floating down and old worm and lure packaging, etc and it's just plain unacceptable to ruin the very river they want to camp at. People looking for clean and quiet with showers and a boat ramp and dog park get reservations and go across the river to Umpqua Riverfront RV Park. Yes, it costs more but you get way more and it's totally worth if for the quiet safe park and clean showers and real bathrooms and laundry. There is NO comparison.

April 21st 2018, My wife and I just needed to get away for a couple days. We just purchased our 1st camp trailer and it was our maiden voyage. We found the perfect spot and could not have asked for a more relaxing time. I have to say that because it is our first trailer, I did not know how much of the unit worked and was hoping for the best when I could not figure out how the refrigerator worked using gas. I asked Earl Johnson, the host, if he could help, and he went out his way to help us get everything working. How awesome is that. We have gone here for years, but had tent camped, and as usual, it was a great experience. Close to home and just far enough away to forget the weeks trials. And no cell service which was even better. Thank you to the Johnsons.

Great campground. Good spot on the river for fishing but not so much for swimming especially if you have kids. No showers. Not too from "civilization." Camp host was friendly and campground was very clean.
