I usually don't share poor experiences, as I know places have their bad days but I would be remiss if I didn't. The floating walk to the restaurant was a hoot, you better have some balancing skills. The restaurant itself, was old and uncared for, dirty with spiderwebs, dead insects on the outside tables and dust. Lots of disrepair. Our waitress was about 15 or 16 and acted like it was her first day there. The place wasn't busy but it took 10 mins. just to get water, a pepsi and a speech about how we couldn't drink alcohol outside. (this was at 1100 am). When our order was ready, or so we thought, the waitress managed to have not turned in one order, so 3 of us had our food but waited until all were ready. The shrimp wasn't burnt, but it was fried so hard the shrimp was like rawhide. The onion rings, etc. were the same. There were 4 of us, we had 3 hamburgers and sides, 1 shrimp dinner and 2 appetizers, water and 1 pepsi, which came to just under $80. Signs of the times.......I guess. I wouldn't recommend it, unless your adventurous and don't mind severely overcooked food. ?
The restaurant reopened under new ownership and they are open 7 days a week. I had the white horn special ( chicken fried steak) with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. It was DELICIOUS and huge. My wife had the Noodlers special (shrimp and fish) which she loved.
Update; New Owners! Supposedly going to be making improvements . Only time will tell. Recently went to fuel up and rinse out floor of boat. Was told promptly by the “‘manager” that customers aren’t allowed to use the water as “ we have to pay for that water” . Being a slip holder needless to say I was floored. That may be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard come out of someone’s mouth in a service business. I Then proceeded to buy 120.00 of gas but can’t use the hose ? What person trying to rebuild a business thinks that’s the smart way? Unbelievable ! Isn’t the use of the water a service provided to those who buy fuel or rent slips? If not, why are we there ? When pressed , she denied ever saying it , yet my son and the three deck hands heard her. Seems like this gal is more concerned about being right than how she’s viewed by the customers. Have asked for one of the owners to call me but have yet to hear back. This “ manager “ is clueless about building customer relations. She obviously has little if any leadership skills other than maybe bossing teenagers around. If ownership wants to turn the tide and grow this business, they need to take a hard look as people spend their money where they see value and a positive experience.
We go crappie fishing here quite often. It's very nice, and clean. The people are really friendly. It's a great place to fish I would say go check it out if you get a chance.
Nice park in the state of Oklahoma. *New owners I'm hoping will improve the property.* Some parts are more nice looking than others but taken as a whole very nice family friendly place to go camping, boating, or whatever else you want to do at the lake.
Ended up here today and idk how I was honestly looking for a fishing spot but than I kept driving to find that perfect place than I seen a restaurant after a long 10hr overnight shift I was hungry so went in very nice clean friendly people food really enjoyed it fresh little pricey but well worth it I spent 47$ on 3 people will be back soon
We really like Whitehorn Cove marina. The people there are very friendly and helpful! I'm in a wheelchair and someone is always offering to open a door or help me manuever around. Even when I get on our boat at the main marina people have helped us out! They have a cafe that we've heard good things about and we're looking forward to trying it soon. There's also a bar but we're not drinkers. We always see lots of deer when we leave in the evening. In one area there's a lot of ducks and geese. We've caught a few fish too! The marina itself is getting a little worn and could use a remodel though but highly recommend!
This place is beyond run down, needs some serious TLC to everything...parking lot, boat ramps, boat slips, store, bar and restaurant. Everything is just barely good enough to make due. This place could be the best location on the lake if someone actually cared about it. The only thing going for it is it's location.
This place was awesome except for me and with my little dog very nice very clean very hospitable I recommend this to anybody on the lake walked in hot sweaty and offered me a drink offer me a seat I couldn't ask for anything more thank you God blessing me again
Love this lake! The staff was so friendly. Nice place to fish and hang out with Wyatt, owners son. He should be the entertainment there. Keep on fishing lil dude!
This place is so calm and peaceful. All the people are so friendly and look out for each other. The lake is not crowded so it is great for jet skiers and boating.
Had the catfish..... So good. My sister had steak burger and she enjoyed this as well. Only complaint is food smelled so good I bit into a super hot fried mushroom and scorched my mouth. Staff is friendly and courteous. They even let you feed the ducks/geese/swans.
We’re enjoy a day at the lake with the family and kids and decide to eat here like we have in the past. When we finished dinner the kids always loved to look at the fish of the dock, a family member dropped a phone into the water and “apparently” we had leaned to far over the dock and the OWNER of the restaurant come out drunk yelling inches away from our face telling us not to do so! We tried to explain the reason for what we were doing. He continues to verbally attacks us with my children standing there and As a woman I felt unsafe with him inches away with my body push up against the dock railing! He huffed his way back into the bar leaving us in shock we turn to leave and he stormed back out to tell us that he was the owner! I feel sorry for the women who have to work around this drunken scumbag.
Food is mediocre at best but is the only place accessible by boat on the north end of Fort Gibson lake. We’ve been there several times but will not go back again. After having dinner with friends and family today my wife dropped her cell phone in the water outside the restaurant door. While attempting to try and retrieve it the owner blew out of the bar section verbally attacking us using foul language and threatening us. We tried to explain our phone was dropped in the water and he said he didn’t care and did not want us to come back. Rest assured we don’t intend on returning. The vulgarity this man displayed in front of four and five year old children was disgusting and continued as we were trying to get the children away as quickly as possible. We all were threatened by this man and I cannot understand why or how he stays in business treating customers in this manner.
I was with a big group of people, about 8 adults and 2 kids. After eating at the restaurant (which was great), a group member accidentally dropped her phone in the water which was sealed in a ziploc. We were trying to see how deep the water may be to try to save it. The owner of the dock then came out and VERY angrily raised his voice at us for crossing his caution tape. He continued to speak to us in an aggressive, demeaning, and horrible way. We will not be returning.
Good food, nice casual atmosphere. Wait staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend the catfish for lunch or dinner and you can't beat the steak and egg breakfast!
