Beautiful place! The Easter area was closed as they prep for the play. I explored the chapel and statue of Christ. Quiet on a Monday morning. Must see while you're in the WMWR.
A very nice place. It is home to an Easter pagent/play that has been performed since the mid 1900's. The way it was built out if the landscape around it is obvious and suiting. They were setting up for the play whan we were there. Woth stopping to see as you pass through the refuge.
Being the only tourists here at the time, the place felt incredibly eerie.. But that’s what made it a pretty cool experience :) You can go into the church and everything is free! Just watch out for the wild buffalo and the bees??
This place is absolutely breathtaking! This was our first time here and we were in awe. The lady in the gift shop was so sweet and knowledgeable. I would love to go back when it's not covered in snow!
Unique experience, the history of the place, the effort in the architectural details to replicate the Holy City, and the natural setting add to the experience. Bison and elk were roaming the area unfazed by the people around.

Very unique. Impressive that they have put the Easter pagent on for 100 years. While it is far from new age or updated, it keeps the message which is important.
We tripped over this place and Im glad we did. Beautifully landscaped and amazing structures. The gift shop has a bit to be desired, but overall a great spot to walk around.
This is a place of beauty, historical and religious.....wonderful place to reflect on life and it's meaning. I live to sit and listen to peace and quiet. When I listen closely I am able to her God and his plan for me.
I fell in love with this place the first time I came. The scenery is breathtaking and I love all the buildings and history of the area. It is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
This place was beyond words. When you drive up to it while coming around the corner, we'll get ready to have your mind blown and mouth drop. Just come here and you will see what I'm talking about. It was a unique find. We visited Wichita Mountains and didn’t know The Holy City existed. We saw a sign for it so decided to visit. We weren’t able to walk around much of the area because it was closed off in preparation for Easter but I’ve included pictures of the areas we did explore. It is said to be a replica of Jerusalem.
It's a nice place to stop and walk around. There are a lot of wasps nesting in the replicas. You can tell that a lot of work went into making the replicas. Overall it is well built but does need some updates as there was some broken stain glass that my toddler went straight for of course. Luckily I caught him before he grabbed it.
If you want to go to a beautiful spot and feel a special closeness with Jesus, then this is the place. I want to go to the Easter pageant and the also allow weddings in the church. It was beautiful and I loved praying there!
The staff was very friendly. Beautiful. It is difficult to navigate with a stroller, so be wary of that if you bring your babes. I would visit again when it is cooler outside because there is not much shade.
Pretty nice. The gift shop here is the only place on the WMA that I found sold cold drinks.. not from a machine. The buildings a cool. Watch the right side of the road as you drive in to see prairie dogs
What a great place to visit out in the middle of the Wichita wildlife preserve. Just miles from beautiful Medicine Park, Oklahoma and right down the road from the world famous Mears restaurant. Make sure you take plenty of photos of the free range buffaloes and tons of cute little groundhogs fun for all ages
We were so blessed to be passing through the week before Easter. And got to witness the Easter pageant rehearsal the night before their first performance of this 100th season! This place is definitely Little Jerusalem!,
Very cool site. They hold plays and pageants out here. The only downside is if you get close to play time, they cut off certain parts of the area. Still worth coming out here tho to see the chapel.
Very beautiful area, nice little place they allow you to see. One side is accessible but the main walking area is closed. Nice little shop area for trinkets and drinks. You might just see a giant Buffalo walking around.
This was the second stop at the park after the visitors building. The staff recommended this stop. They say it has some replicas of the holy city in Jerusalem. I thought it was nice representation of history. Peaceful to walk though it. I believe they have a gift shop there as well
Not what I thought it was at all!! Very bizarre, felt kind of like the hills have eyes. Beautiful structures but just a weird vibe. Worth at least a stop to see it. Lady in the gift shop was super friendly and told us the history of the place.
Wonderful place to visit out in the desert. Very easy to walk around and the setting is nice and quiet. There is a lot of care taken for each site and there are many picture opportunities and the Christ the Redeemer statue is beautiful. Beautiful location and definitely worth the trip
