When I first started, vehicles under $2,000 weren’t even eligible for arbitration — regardless of light condition. So I adjusted my buying strategy and began purchasing cars above $2,000, specifically to be able to arbitrate if issues arose. But lately, even that safeguard is being eroded.
My recent experience with a 2019 Chevy Malibu (under 150k miles, sold green light, over $3,000) was the last straw. The car threw transmission codes shortly after purchase. I submitted it to arbitration per the policy, yet the head of arbitration, Jason, dismissed the claim and claimed there was “nothing wrong.” No diagnostic acknowledgment, no transparency. Just denial.
To make matters worse, their so-called “post-sale inspection” policy is misleading. They promote a 7-day return window if problems are found — but in practice, once they have your payment, you’re stuck.
Over the years, I’ve bought many vehicles from Akron, but I now regret using them as a source. The new leadership in arbitration lacks professionalism, objectivity, and accountability. Jason in particular seems more interested in shutting down claims than standing by fair dealer protections.
To fellow dealers: Read the arbitration bylaws thoroughly. Don’t assume green light or post-sale means protection. The system no longer works as advertised.
To Akron Auto Auction leadership: If you care about long-term dealer trust, it’s time to clean house in arbitration. You’re losing good buyers

a little tight but made it in there on full size tractor trailer just don't send rookies here they might struggle u gotta use the whole oncoming lane around the whole u turn under bridge both ways in and out..
Nice local auction with great opportunities to buy cars wholesale. It’s open to the public, making it a great spot for finding deals on vehicles. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market!

This place is really nice place u can get a good deal n a nice car if u get there early that way u can look at it cause if not u won't know what ur getting I mean u don't really know what u r really getting but there is a dealer side n for the public they do have some nice vehicles

My car was totally destroyed in their care.. scratches,, knicks,, and now it won’t stay running. Was in near perfect condition when I trusted them to auction my car for me,,never again .

Disclaimer-Dont go if you dont know what your doing. It is an AS-IS auction and 95% of the cars you buy here are going to need some kind of work. People who dont understand this are just messing it up for the rest of us by driving the bids up higher than they need to be. This place has become very popular and it has made it hard to find deals like i used to. If you do not understand what a car is worth, and how much you will need in fees and repairs then DONT BID!! You will end up paying more than you would have for a car on craigslist
The cleanest, most professional dealer auction around. Everyone is so nice, each employee I have dealt with gos out of their way daily to help all of their dealer partners succeed. Its up to date with on-line dealer sales, they deliver with-in 24 hours, not to mention the best lunchroom ive been in since High-school. Keep up the great work Akron!
Picked up a nice car at a decent price. Know your price range and stick to it. Do your homework and you can find a good buy. Remember you're buying a used car let the buyer beware.
I've been attending the Akron Auto Auction for over 30 years and its had it's ups and downs over the years. All in all, pretty stand up ran business. Lately I have heard talk of certain new car stores getting preferential treatment as far as numbers given for pre registration for upcoming auctions and immediate reruns that never even hit the tunnels and what I mean is if a vehicle runs and doesn't sell, the seller has the option to rerun the vehicle. But in order for that to happen it has to be brought back through the registration tunnel to get another run number. Heres where the magic happens..some of the new car stores they cater to just run the vehicle right around the building cutting off the next car coming through saving them time and aggravation. Cause sometimes they're(your vehicle your selling) not where they're suppose to be they get test driven and moved. We all put our pants on one leg at a time lets keep a level playing field out there boys and girls. Thank you.
Staff very helpful and the auction site is very easy to get to. This was my 1st time here and was very pleased with how organised and helpful the staff was.was directed straight to the vehicle and it was right where it was supposed to be unlike some other au tions I have been to . bottom line I will be back .
I watched a white driver tell a young black driver that if he wasn't careful that he would hang him from a tree like they did in the old days. I told the driver that he should tell a supervisor and he told me that it wouldn't change anything and that the front office allows those people to remain employees. Sickening place, i was ready to buy 60 vehicles but after i witnessed that i left and I'm NEVER going back. I'm going to hire that driver as well as tell other dealers who aren't racist to never buy from a place filled with bigots.
Not having access to cars before they come into building a pain. All the other auctions I attend have unlimited access outside building. Some of the drivers go out of their way to be a pain. The rest are great and help as much as they're allowed
