This guy needs to be put out of business immediately I've actually taking steps to have him and the sheriffs investigated because of the high prices they know he charges and they keep working with this guy it's a racket I think they're getting kick backs from this guy! . I have made this my life mission to have this guy investigated and hopefully have this racket shut down he charged $2,500 for a day and a half that he had a vehicle of mine constantly not showing up so I can retrieve my vehicle very rude so unprofessional it's a shame that the Justice system allows this guy to be a terror to the community
John was awesome. I had some car issues with overheating and he was prompt to pick it up and get it to where it needed to go. He also has a great sense of humor which helped in this stressful situation. I highly reccomend him!
Most unprofessional place I’ve ever been in my life. Cussed at me after he mistook me for another customer, and ended with him throwing rocks at my vehicle after I drove away. Have video proof of it all. Would not recommend. I rather walk than use this terrible establishment. I don’t know how this place is operational
400 plus dollars an hour with a minimum of 2 hours for a tow when the state highway patrol calls them for a tow. Plus $50 a day storage fee plus fuel plus this plus that making the bill go from $1,000 to over $1,200 because I was asking questions and he got a snotty attitude with me because he's been in this business for 30 years. How long if I've been in this business I was questioned when I wanted to know what the fees were for. It's our money and we have the right to ask and you should have disclosed your fees before even touching the vehicle.
Have called for a tow a couple of times, and they are always there right away, ready to help. Making sure everything is done right and that I know everything is taken care of. Could not ask for a better towing company. Thanks for your great job.
Our boat trailer broke an axle on the way home from camping after the 4th of July weekend. I called the company at 7:40 on Sunday morning, he answered on the first ring, told me he would be there in 30 minutes, and he was there right on time. He got us loaded and unloaded without any issues. He made what could have been an unpleasant experience, very simple and painless.
They were awesome & helped me out in a tough situation. My child had an accident & the police never told me how much it was going to be. I was so thankful for their help.
I had called to ask some questions about a tow they had done with an accident clean up. Although I didn’t get the answer that I was wanting, it was nice to be able to have a laugh about the situation after a rough day.
Had to call for a tow (stuck in mud with truck and 5th Wheel) late last night. Was very nice on the phone when we called, arrived quickly, and had us pulled out safely and fast. He knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Price was very fair. Appreciate the professionalism and awesome service. All around a great guy—even to us Penn Staters! ? Thanks again!

Great towing company. Very nice and efficient. When the other towing company couldnt even get it done. This guy came out and got it done in no time. Excellent service. Thank you for your help when I was stuck in the long ice driveway.
This morning my husband was leaving for work and slid off the side of our driveway. Maybe about 3 ft but could not get his truck unstuck by himself. So I thought there's a towing company right down the road from us. Literally 2.4 miles away. We called and had them come out. He literally proceeded to take a whole 15 minutes to pull the truck out and then charge my husband $125 for 2.4 miles and 15 minutes worth of work.
I'll give him credit cuz he got up and put his shoes on and went out in the cold but what a total rip off. That is unnecessary to charge that much. My husband was even going to tip the guy but since he wanted $125, he didn't get a tip because that was his tip. If he wasn't leaving for work I would have waited till one of my neighbors could have come over with their tractor. Ridiculously overpriced. The only reason why he's getting three stars is because he put his shoes on. I get it that you know times are tough and all. To exploit people like that is ridiculous. I'm sure that it will be well you needed the service so you'll pay whatever I say. Everyone else is hurting too, financially, you're not special. You just ripped us off for a total of 30 minutes service.
Amazing team and amazing owner! Brian and his guys have helped me so many times with so many vehicles and I have never had a single issue. They treat every one of my vehicles like their own and that really means a lot. Brian has even done some real long drives to get a few vehicles out of state for me and not a single snag. The prices are always fair and I never have a problem. Johns is the only company I use for all my tows and you should too!
Worst service ever, was charge $388 when towed to my house and was told it would’ve been free with my full coverage if taken to their place and i called to try and get a copy of my receipt and john was very rude on the phone and never responded over text, and when my insurance called he started yelling and swearing at them saying “i don’t report to you” and then saying it’s a $25 fee to rewrite my receipt. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Whomever owns this place is very rude and very disrespectful! They want you to respect them but don’t give respect when it should be giving if you’re running a business. My vehicle has been impounded. I found out there was a hold on my vehicle, I asked if I can get my property out of my vehicle and the owner stated that I had to pay him $200 dollars to do so. After waiting for a release and couldn’t afford to get my vehicle out, I politely called the company back asked to speak to the owner and I asked by it being the holiday season are you willing to work with me on getting me vehicle out? He said what can you pay? I told him a price and he agreed but I still needed to bring a release. Having to wait awhile for it, I finally got the release. I had stuff in my vehicle that was stolen out my vehicle. Once I said something about it the owner then said “look I’ll make you pay full price. I went to get my vehicle and that’s what he tried to do. I asked him if I can show him the details of my property being removed. He replied “NO”. As I was leaving out the door because I was not paying him $2200.00 he demanded I give him my title and that was a no for me. I then went back in and asked can I just pay the $200 to get my property out of me vehicle he then replied yes if you pay me $300 dollars. I replied you said $200 and he replied very rudely “NO IT’S $300. Further action on my behalf is gonna get pursued the legal way. And to believe that this company works for the police. Wow! I’m attaching photos of the locations of some of my property that was removed out of my vehicle. The owner said nobody touched my property. I guess a ghost did. NO TELLING WHAT ELSE IS MISSING OUT OF MY VEHICLE. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE BANNED FROM TOWING. RIGHT IS RIGHT, WRONG IS WRONG!

WORST experience with a tow! How does Portage county sheriff use this racket? Charged $2350 CASH ONLY.. when questioned invoice added hours and fees for a new total of $3100. When I did not have the additional cash, he said it’s a 10% fee to put new amount on a debit card. I’m sure he will rewrite the invoice only showing the debit Charge in his books. I’m very familiar with tax evasion. Already made a few calls to make IRS aware. I will definitely be notifying the better business bureau as well
Super great company! We were stuck in a muddy field 250’ out and they came as fast as they could and got us out. They were fast, nice and very reasonable!!! Extra cudos to Brandon and Danielle!
The best customer service I’ve had in years!! The guys are great! They do excellent work and are helpful and informative. I had no idea what to do after destroying my car in a storm. They were so nice and understanding. I’m sending everyone I know for tow services to Johns! The owner and driver are both awesome. I’m kissing AAA goodbye forever. Thanks Brian and Brandon!! They searched the accident site for my missing IPad at the time and everything. When getting my gasoline and broken glass covered car ready to be scrapped they found the iPad under the seat and called me to return it!! They’re super hardworking, honest and don’t overcharge!! Can’t say enough good things about Johns Towing!!
We used this company through roadside assistance. My husband was stuck on the freeway at night and was hard to locate because the car lost all power and had no lights. The roadside assistance company failed to send John's Towing the proper email and payment in a timely manner, so by the time the tow truck arrived, it was very late at night. The first positive is that John answered the phone every time I called (4 times)...and I at least was able to stay in touch with him. He went the extra mile trying to find my husband in an obscure section of the freeway and finally got the car towed to the mechanics parking lot at midnight. He really came through for us and I appreciate the service he provided.
Very disrespectful he towed my car didn’t ever tell me he wasn’t open 24 hrs like the website states drove 2 hrs after work and he was a very rude person how do you not update your yard hours it’s Christmas time and now I have to wait two more days and I won’t be able to get my car, how do you have a website that states 24hr and a card but you only open until 5 that’s the most unprofessional thing I’ve seen and I called and told him I would see him today he didn’t say anything about 5 pm I had to have my elderly parents drive 2 hand got lost for him not allow me to get my vehicle I would have paid for the two days no website says one thing and does something different update your yard hours or change your website all together!!! You can have the car I’ll buy a new one for the price you want anyway your company is unprofessional you probably do this all the time some people do work as well!!
This company was wonderful both times I needed them. I called and talked to Barb who sent a truck out quickly. Brian the responding driver was very efficient & professional. I had been stranded home because my keys were locked in my van. He arrived earlier than the quoted time and had the doors open in minutes. I was treated with excellent service when I needed a tow as well. Reasonable prices, prompt service, polite staff! Family owned and operated!
JOHNS TOWING was located 4.9 miles from where i needed pulled out of a ditch gas is cheap one gallon of gas gets him to and from his shop which only costs 2.15 per gallon. all i needed was my car winched or pulled out of this ditch so i could drive home i did not need to be towed anywhere. It took him 15-20 minutes tops to do a 50$ job. Instead he charged me 150$. Biggest waist of money i have ever spent i asked for a price they said it depended on the job. The other company i called would have pulled me out for 50$ This company will rip you off unless your uneducated about towing which i assume is what they thought about me. I do not recommend these people .
I don't think anyone ever wants to use a towing company, but when you do, you always hope for the best. The best, was my experience with John's towing the evening I had to use them! I was about 25 miles from home and the engine in the vehicle was overheating so it was not safe to drive. A certain membership organization told me they would have someone to assist in 90 minutes or less. Two hours later I was told that no one was able to come because all of the partner tow companies could not send a truck to help, just in case there was an accident. Not the answer you expect when pay for the highest tier available of said membership organization. I was informed that I would have to pay for a tow out of my pocket since none of the partner companies could send a truck. (Don't worry they said, I'd be reimbursed) So I called John's, they answered right away, and said they'd be there within the hour. They were; and even beat their estimated time of arrival. They quickly had me and my vehicle on our way, as opposed to stranded. Their driver was courteous and professional throughout the entire interaction. I cannot recommend them enough. I think the last time I used them before this incident Google reviews did not even exist. Ha! I hope it's a long time that I have to use them again, but if I do, I am glad to know that John's will be there for me when I do.
Came out right away! Everyone was friendly, helpful and professional. Gave a great price, honestly thought it was going to be much more. Put off calling until we had no other options. We called another company and they were almost double! So glad we called John's! Made quick work of our problem! They are who we are going to call from now on! Highly recommend.
