Copart - Dayton JunkYard in Moraine (OH)

From start to finish, it was a pleasure doing business with these folks. It's very refreshing to finally do business with a Dayton company who actually does what it says it'll do.

Great online auction vehicle site, pickup could be improved vastly. We had to wait 1 1/2 hours to pick up a vehicle won during an auction. This site has many fee's added to the price such as Buyer fee, virtual bid fee, gate fee, and copart mailing fee.

If your insurance ever sends your vehicle here make sure you have every single personal belongings out of it including taking off your license plate and any license plate covers because when I went to get my license plate and license plate cover off of my totaled vehicle this is what I received back. The manager nor the staff cared that my personal property was damaged and when I showed him the license plate and told him about the license plate cover he just smiled at me and said what do you want me to do about it like he didn’t care. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. If I could give zero stars I would.

Incompetent and terrible customer service with housing our vehicle. Delivered our vehicle to auto body with battery drained. Truck drive Had no idea why it won’t start. Copper Kept our license plate and did not send it with our vehicle which is not procedure. Someone should have caught this mistake. We could not drive the vehicle for 3 more day after our 7 week wait. Customer service could have been more efficient and responsive with mailing and tracking our plate. I had to call again for tracking number which was invalid. Did get it over night, yay. However without hardware, which we don’t have on hand. Do people even want to work anymore and help others? After reading the other reviews sounds like they are a bunch of criminals. Glad I had all my possessions out of the vehicle.

EXTREMELY slow service for payment and pick up. This location is one of the slowest yards in the Midwest from my experience. Yes, they're still using the virtual queue, which said 24 minutes when I got in line and took well over an hour to even get inside. Meanwhile, local drivers were constantly in and out. Makes you feel like a second-class customer as a buyer, even though you're the one paying all the fees. Lady inside was super polite and friendly, but they seem to work at their own pace here.

My car was totaled and insurance used this company, to tow. Worse people I have ever dealt with, they schedule a time , and they called the day, before schedule, and I wasn't home. It was scheduled the next day . They stated " see you tomorrow" and never showed up. I called was on hold forever, and finally was told driver works overtime, and will pick up. Never showed up! I have my final ins. Pmt. riding, on them picking car up!! Very unprofessional. They give a window, and you wait all day, for them, to be a no call no show!

My vehicle was transported directly to them by my insurance company. I didn't have time to clean it out before it was taken there. My car was ransacked and someone threw a large fountain pop cup into the back cargo hold. And then put what was left of my possessions in the spilled pop. They also pryed off the license plate and broke the frame it was in. My insurance company American Family shrugged and said "Nothing we can do!" Your "customer service rep" at the counter, a younger black man gave no cares in the world. Worst service I've ever seen from a company

First time experience was great. Staff was friendly and professional but follow the rules. They are busy, can be impatient but explained everything I needed to get my vehicle without nonsense. Will be back and second time will go much smoother. The guys working the yard were friendly and professional. Overall good experience

Had to have them pick up my car due to my insurance totaling it out. They were suppose to pick it up Thursday, January 5th at some point because I was off that day so i made sure to scheudle it then so i could be at home if anything was needed and to be bale to get my license plate off my car right before they came. But never called and never showed because I had to leave my license plate on til right before they came to pick it up due to street parking so i wanted to get it off like right befire they showed up. Well I've been at work all day unable to answer my phone and I come home to my car being gone along with my license plate and no way to get in touch with them til Monday. If they did call I have no idea as if they did they did not leave a voicemail or anything. They told me a day and a time frame and then came a completely day late. Super annoyed about it.

I scheduled pickup at 12:00pm and here we are 3 hours later… still waiting. No restrooms. Rude. Columbus copart is much better all around. I’ll not buy from Dayton location again just for this reason.

Absolutely awful. Anyone who has bought from copart knows that they load vehicles on your trailer with a front end loader. They said they couldn’t load a truck I bought because it had an aftermarket bed so “ because it’s modified it’s against policy to load it”. This is unfortunate, but not the end of the world because I had a winch and BECAUSE IT WAS LISTED AS KEYS PRESENT, I could put it in neutral and winch it up….. except they didn’t have keys. Here I am 4 hours from home and they refuse to assist in loading, and I don’t have a key that I’m supposed to have. They refuse to give ANY sort of refund. Not even a partial refund. I ended up having to hire a tow truck to drag it up in their flat bed and then transfer it to my trailer. It was a total pain and quite honestly a $160 expense I shouldn’t have had to pay. One of the loader drivers said he could load it but they wouldn’t let him. Their pick up process was an absolute joke, my email stated one time for pick up, and my text message stated another. I was the very first person in the gate, and from the time I got there until the time I left was 7 hours. I should have been the first one loaded, instead I was maybe the 25 person shown to my truck. It should have been a really simple process but instead it was made very difficult and I incurred extra expenses because it didn’t have the key that it was supposed to have. I will stay away from this location in the future.

From a buyers perspective this Copart is more relaxed and easier to preview and pickup clean title vehicles than other locations. Been here 5 times until I finally won a car yesterday. The staff in the office as well as the lot have always been polite, friendly and helpful. The downside is being limited to two days of preview.

I haven’t seen so many frowns on all the employees at a place in a long time. You can easily tell that this is not a fun place for them to work. There is a lot of disorganization in the office by far. This was just from watching other customers get frustrated because it took two or three employees to do one thing. I have gone there three times now and not only are the counter employees very slow and lethargic, there’s usually only one employee trying to handle a super long line of customers that keeps growing and growing. That particular employee moves very slowly and you can easily tell she doesn’t have a care in the world. I have seen them not be able to locate titles, not be able to locate parts, and have to run in and out of the trailers several times to look for whatever it is. They need help big-time. I would not suggest doing business with this location. If you must deal with this location, I highly, highly, highly suggest that you get there an additional 15 to 30 minutes prior to when you are thinking of going. If you have to be there at 2 o’clock and you have another appointment somewhere else at 3 o’clock, get to this location at 1:30 PM. The line of customers hardly moves at all.

Stuff missing out of my truck. If your insurance sends your car here, be sure you either get everything out or take pictures of what is in it. Completely unacceptable. They should not be able to ransack your car. This all goes for Sandy’s towing which the car was there first before my insurance had it moved. People are already struggling when they are involved in an accident but then find that items have been stolen just makes it worse. I’ve lost faith in humanity.

What a terrible place this copart is. It’s been 30 mins waiting to get loaded. Only one forklift is working and the other one just moving vehicles around nothing else. There are 7-8 trucks waiting to be loaded.

My experience was great. Fast and friendly service. 10 mins from arrival/check in to them forklifting over my totaled car.

This specific location is ridiculous. Have been to many coparts and the Dayton’s OFFICE STAFF customer service sucks. Been here twice with the same issues of a car not “populating” in the system so it doesn’t come up on the yardmen’s screen. HAVING TO WAIT 3 HOURS IN THE PARKING LOT for a car to be loaded. NORMALLY when something like this happens the Customer shouldn’t have to wait for the people that came in after to get loaded. But kudos to the hardworking yard men, you guys loaded with our vehicle with no problems.

Nice big parking lot for car haulers. But yhat wait time is insane. Headed here i went on the app and the next available appointment time was 2:30, 1:30 was all full. I came at 1:30 and clicked "I'm here" so they put me in the queue for next customer service. It said there are 16 customers in front of me and wait time is approximately 13 minutes. So not too bad. At 3:30 I got a text saying they ready for me, so I came into the office and was in office maybe 17 seconds, got my titles and was out. Not sure what took soo long to call me for that. Then waited till 5:45 till the loader brought out my cars. Wow, I ussaly try to stay away from copart or iaa but anytime I do, its ussaly quicker then that. 4 hours of just waiting. Not sure if they can't get more employees or they are noting paying their employees. Columbus corpart is slow also but faster then this.

Very rudes associates. Very bad customer service experience. They all started shouting at me.

Walked in, took 3 minutes to do paperwork, walked outside, within 18 minutes my project car was on my trailer and I was readying to pull out of the lot.. im impressed most with the service and kind nature of everyone I dealt with.. refreshing for a coparts...

I've bought a few vehicles from this location. Both times have been positive experiences, with quick loading, fairly quick paperwork processing, and accurate pictures. Of course, the buyer has the responsibility to verify the condition. The parking and pickup areas are not well marked.

Have been waiting for d title for more than an hour after my car was loaded. They just don’t wanna work. One of the slowest coparts in a state

Ive delt with Columbus oh and Cleveland west locations before and was pleased with the outcome. This location however has Horrible customer service skills! Found a project car I was interested in fixing called Tuesday afternoon to see if I could view vehicle Thursday morning b4 auction. Seeing they were closed normal auction date because of Christmas but Couldn't get through. So I chanced it an drove almost 3 1/2 hours just to be told well since your not a dealer you cant view the day of sale. That shouldn't matter for a paying customer! Was spoken over multiple times and insinuated I said things I didnt! I wouldn't have had a problem if they spoke to me properly and acted like they needed my business! Instead they were all on a power trip! Will not buy anything from this location ever and seriously rethinking looking at any vehicles from this business at all!

Just No, great company. Employees look like they want to kill you. Stepped into the yard trying to go inside the office employee yells at me says “You cannot be out here” in a disrespectful manner. I’ve felt with other copart locations they are great.

A lot of miscommunication on their end. Scheduled five times with them to dispatch a tow truck for my totaled car. Insurance sends all of their vehicles here I'm assuming as this is the place I was assigned. Kept getting the run around. I have voicemails and call logs of when and who i spoke with each time stating I was scheduled for this day, between 8 and 5. They always asked the same questions. Ex: is the car driveable, are all four tires inflated, etc. Every time they didn't show, I called and would get an excuse that it was never scheduled even when I had confirmed voicemails. Literally the only person who cared even in the slightest and actually did his job correctly and quickly I might add was a man named Anthony in dispatch. He was professional and got a truck there within a respectable amount of time. In the end, the car got where it was supposed to be but it was a slow moving process.
