I used to shop here until I had a bad experience with management. I will note they had always been kind, but this incident left a really bad feeling. I had 2 tags for 2 pieces of furniture (it was a set), and Some Russian woman asked me for the tags, to which I respectfully declined handing them to her and continued shopping. She then complained to the manager about me not giving her the sale tags and that it was unfair of me to purchase “both” items. so he instead sold her both the furniture pieces and said “too bad, sorry, but she threatened to call corporate” to me. I handed the cashier the sale tags as Karen was still complaining and told Karen directly she was a real piece of work and a completely miserable person for causing problems over something small. Apparently Karma was on my side, because right after Karen bought them, she walked back in the store to demand an instant refund. Because Karen realized the furniture wouldn’t fit in her. The manager then had the audacity to welcome me to buy the furniture... I explained that I was absolutely disgusted with their service, and out of principle regarding the situation I’m declining and won’t be returning here again. Just a heads up to all future shoppers.

First off it's around back with Dollar Tree, Google parked me in front by the restaurant, it's a smaller store than my locations... Line wait 12mins...

I drop off yearly clothing items to the Goodwill and chose this location. Unfortunately, one of the bags split when the male employee picked it up. He was very rude and asked me "Why I put the clothes in a split bag?" Terrible customer service for sure! Last time going there!!!

Store was a little messy, but the cashier (Shantrell) was so nice. It's a dreary rainy day and she was very pleasant and efficient to every customer in line. Seriously, send this woman around to train everyone on how to deliver customer service!

Update: This location somehow got even more expensive than my last review over a year ago... crazy. I stopped in for something small but almost everything starts at $5 no matter how junky. So many things priced basically what they'd cost new, or MORE because of the high minimum price tiers. Lost count how many times I picked something up and said "you've got to be kidding me". Plus the poor cashiers now have to say "You changed a life today" after every transaction. You know what, my life did change - I stopped shopping here even on a whim. --- Someone else said this, and I completely agree - this USED to be a good location when it first opened. Now, Dollar Tree stuff priced over $1, clothing from Walmart and Target barely 50% off what it would cost new, cracked shoes for $7 minimum, busted picture frames for $5... you're better off going to Marc's, Rose's, Walmart or Dollar Tree directly! Heaven forbid you find anything of value, they price it even steeper to ensure resellers don't take that profit. Why wouldn't I just go to poshmark or ebay if Goodwill now costs just as much but with a dirtier less thoroughly inspected product? Edit: They claim below that being a gainful employer of at least 25 employees (I HIGHLY doubt this based on the perpetual "join our team" posters) and serving the community is the reason they now charge so much - absolute bull. Goodwills in OH pay barely $13 tops for managers, $8-$10/hr for most employees (can't wait to see how much they try to charge after their arm is twisted into paying the new minimum wage in 2023). Lower income folks who need goodwill most can barely afford it anymore. You're still paying minimum wage and struggling to hire, and your supply chain is still PEOPLE GIVING YOU STUFF FOR FREE. So at the very least don't make lame excuses to try and mask corporate's decision to increase profit margins. Goodwill can no longer even pretend to care about its "mission". Only upside is friendly staff - bless their hearts they deserve better.

Enjoy shopping there. You never know what you'll find. Easy to donate. You just pull up and someone comes out to get your donations. You don't even have to get out of your car! They'll give you a receipt if asked. Very nice people!

It was my first time in a goodwill. I was impressed with the amount of junk, trash, dirt and clothes with so manu stains and defects. If you have patience, you end up finding something, but has no curation

Bought a $31 ice maker 2 days ago. For it not to work. Tried to exchange or return it. They only do exchange on clothing so I’m out of my money with a broken ice maker. I learned my lesson will no longer buy any electronics from here.

Tag placement is appalling. Everything you buy, which is in otherwise perfect condition, ends up with holes because they don't put tags in correct locations. This has been an issue at goodwill for years, and it's such a simple fix.

The manager of the store, Brad, was extremely rude. He was dismissive and unkind. I’ve been a Goodwill shopper and donor for years and my experience with him was hands down one of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional I’ve ever had. It’s worth not going to this location sadly and shopping elsewhere.

This was my first experience at this store. I am an experienced thrifter! First off, the smell was appalling! The items smell aweful! The smell of BO & fabreeze was nauseating ! I won’t return to this particular store & stay with the Goodwill of choice! Mayfield GW is good! The music, smell & staff is very good!

Every time I go, I always find a gem of items. This has become one of my go to spots. Thanks GW for having items, I need on every visit thus far.

I really like this store but it's been getting more difficult to buy men's clothing here because of the tag placement on a large percentage of the clothing. Most tags (shirts especially) aren't put in an inconspicuous spot or into a seam causing visible damage to otherwise great pieces of clothing.

Don’t bother. I’ve been here three times and each time the staff has been extremely rude. The hours listed online say it closes at 8 p.m. We walked in (for the last time) at 5:45 p.m. today and were rudely greeted at the door with an employee saying “we close in 15 minutes!” We watched multiple people try to go in and were confused as to why they say they are open until 8 yet closing at 6. Get it together Goodwill. Awful customer service.

Tried on a beautiful skirt, literally in love with it. Somehow the tag fell off before we got to the register and we didn't know. Instead of giving us the opportunity to check the fitting room or anything, the lady just put it up behind her and said she couldn't sell it to me. I asked if a manager could price check it and she said they can, but they wouldn't put it back on the floor until tomorrow! Literally so disappointed. I wanted that skirt and felt like it was rude to just put it away before saying anything or giving me a chance to get the tag.

I had a good experience. The guy unloading my car was friendly and helpful. He did not offer a tax form though....I had 2 car loads of descent items all in good condition. However, I really wasn't going to claim on my taxes but I feel he SHOULD have asked me .....lot of things still had tags on them still and never used....

I've made donations on numerous occasions, but today the lady who collected items from my trunk was very rude. Also she used very expletive language to woman smoking a cigarette at donation location. It has previously been handled professionally, but not today. She didn't even offer me a receipt.

There's s lil lady works in the front she is absolutely the best always very pleasant and helpful and sometimes she's the only one working at the front but because her spirit is so warm can't help but to be patient because she's so calming if you're ever in there can't miss her I don't know them lady's name but she's always the one with the soft voice be sure to say hello if you ever drop in

Went to drop off some donations and one of their staff members just stood beside the drop off center heckling the cars over their driving and eating Mike and Ikes and not doing any actual work. It was bizarre. The rest of the staff members were professional and appropriate.

The manager(?) Natasha was very rude to my group. We attempted to buy two plushies, she said they didn’t have tags so they wouldn’t sell them to us because they “had to be re-priced first”. Even though every single plush in the store was $2.29. Incredibly privileged to think everyone is perfectly capable of just returning to get them another time. Not everyone who’s shopping at a goodwill has the luxury of a car and time off to come get these plushies they’ve been hunting for for years. Natasha upset my friend and ruined her day completely. Ruined my experience and opinion of this Goodwill store.

This place is a mess, you find small sizes in the large sizes sections and vice versa. The dressing rooms are overflowing with clothes left behind and no one cares. Some ceramic items are chipped yet overpriced. The store employees wear masks the wrong way (not covering the nose) or worse, don't wear masks at all with total disregard to the visitors. What's more, you cannot use your phone there. I received a personal text and wanted to reply but no such luck. The phone I'm using doesn't even have online capabilities, it's calls and texts only, and I was unable to return a personal text?? I shouldn't have to step outside just to text. What is wrong with this place, smh. No thanks, never again. I don't recommend this Goodwill location and will avoid from now on. There are better choices in the area.

It's your topical Goodwill store. It has everything from women's, men's, and children's Cloths to furniture, cookware, art and books. This store in specific is clean and has a very welcoming environment. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed shopping at this Goodwill. There are really great bargains here great selection a little bit of everything. There was only one problem. There was a very very long line and people were purchasing a lot of things I asked for another cashier and they sent another one out and I finally was able to get out of the store With all of my bargains.

While I truly support Goodwill Industries there were several things that were priced too high for the objects on display. Multiple items that were the same had different amt prices. Whole dish sets separated and placed in different areas. Making it difficult to spend and save money at same time.

You can find gently used items reasonably priced. The store is always clean. The employees are friendly and helpful. You must take your time and sift through everything.

I don’t have to much bad to say but one of your employees named Tony whom I had purchased a cabinet and was explained I had 48hours to pick up I rented a truck which costed me money as well as time I specifically ask him about picking up my purchased and was confirmed it would be there and pink slipped was put on cabinet as sold. There is no manager to explain my distress Other than that nice store can find some bargain deals and steals here

I love Goodwill! It's a great place not only to donate but also to get really great quality yet affordable dinnerware, cooking aids or home decor especially for those in need. I highly recommend it to students, who live in University Circle and often find it hard to get inexpensive options considering the huge cost of living and barely any reasonably priced stores. The staff is really helpful and the store has a great collection. I'm so glad we have a store in University Heights now! However, some customers can get desperate in the store. I've seen people either hoarding, not allowing others to check a section or breaking things in the store and escaping. So, please be careful.
