I nice park, but the historical buildings were all closed. Other than hiking their wasn't much to do in the park. My husband did go fishing from the shore. I would visit again, but I will probably go back on a weekend during the summer and hope to get to see inside the buildings. The people next to us had trouble with the 50 amp service and no one was around to try and get help. There wasn't even a camp host available.

This campground is amazingly clean as are. There's showers beach and restrooms. The staff is kind i'm very helpful. My boyfriend and I spent two days there and wish that it had been a lot more.We have plans to return within the next thirty days. We had an amazing time with an amazing experience

Nice quite camp. Restrooms and shower house looked newly renovated. Boat ramp less than a mile away. Only trolling motors allowed. That's nice since we only use kayaks. Only issue was a howling dog that a terrible pet owner just hooked outside and left it there. Pads could use repoured or repaired on some sites.

Beautiful park with a lot of great trails. We've never been here before, but will absolutely be coming back

We really enjoy it here. This is our 3rd year staying here. The park is peaceful. Close to family for us, big rig and dog friendly. Most spots spacious & asphalt with nice gressy areas between.

It's a small lake beach, notice I said LAKE, so yes, the water is "dirty." It's lake water, lol. Nothing a good shower can't take care of. The water itself is shallow, so you can go out pretty far and the beach is blocked off by buoy. Kids love it. Take a blanket or beach chair, cooler full of drinks and some snacks, your kids some sand toys and enjoy the day. Don't be alarmed by the tiny little minnows you see, they are everywhere, kids can stay budy for hours trying to catch them. You can even walk around and fish in other spots. Kayaks are welcome, but be sure to have them registered and the correct floatation devices if needed. It says no floaties, but we always take them and float around and tan and nothing has ever been said. There is a place where you can camp, hike, ride horses, mini golf, and other things, but I'm just touching on the beach as I don't camp. We just go enjoy a day at the beach.

This place is amazing! Very clean, plenty of space not very crowded. Great place to bring your whole family! There are kayaks and canoes, walking trails and a big beach to relax on. I highly recommend going if you want a nice relaxing day hiking or go for a nice lake day! A great spot to go fishing too, plenty of fish! There are restrooms as well.

A fun little beach! While on a trip through Belmont County with our kids, we came across Barkcamp State Park and the sweet little beach they have located here. It was a very hot day and as we were making our way through the area to different sites and locations, we just happen to have our beach bag of swimsuits and towels available for the kids to enjoy the water. They really loved getting into the water and digging for shells through the sand. Our older kids enjoyed taking a break for a moment and enjoying the time out of the car. My husband and I just sat and relaxed. Any parent knows that feeling… Restrooms on the premises. Barbecue grill Basketball court Picnic tables Public restroom Slides Swings Good for kids Good for kids birthday Kid-friendly hikes Playground Dogs allowed, hiking * Wheelchair, accessible entrance and parking lot

Gorgeous, quiet with lots of areas for families, reunions, small or large bikers or walkers, this is amazing! Laundry, showers and indoor plumbing or outhouses if preferred! We were in site # 18 -40' motor home. Unhooked, and parked our pull behind truck at the end of our site. The lake is nice sand, shallow with a volleyball net at one end. Horse area was secluded and in use. Very nice State park! Easter weekend was busy.

My family and I have been coming here for a few years now (since coming to the area) it's one of our "go to" locations for hiking and fishing. Although, I'm starting to think that there AREN'T any fish left in the lake! Haha But I've never fished at a place.... so many times... and constantly reel in empty. Each and every single time ? We're looking forward to dropping the kayaks in the water very soon, too

We are here off season. We sat on site 18 loop A. The camp sites are on the close side in this full service sites. The electric only sites appeared to have more separation. Camping area is clean / well kept. We walked the yellow trail, 0,6 mile, The trail needed a little work to remove down trees. Some work had already been completed removing obstacles.

Barkcamp is a very nice park and campground located near Belmont, OH. It is somewhat rustic, although located not far off of the interstate. We used it as a base camp to visit St. Clairsville, Wheeling/Moundsville, and the Pumpkin Festival in Barnesville. There is also a pioneer village that pays homage to the area and to Harley Warrick, the painter of many of the Mail Pouch Tobacco ads.

Good camping. Many paved sites with full hook up. Only one ADA, despite them toying any site with paved patio as ADA. Still was a good experience. Park had a beach, fishing, horse camp, trails for multi use.

Bathrooms are open air, outhouse style so be aware! Mostly clean campsites with fire rings and flat cement pads with hook up. Trash bins aren’t close by. Quiet campground and definitely more space on cal-de-sac areas. Dog friendly & kid friendly.

This is such a lovely state park. During the week it was quiet and pretty empty. This is one of the most well-maintained parks we’ve been to anywhere in the country. I wandered trails with groundhogs or a woodchucks, deer and lots of bunnies. Friendly people at the park and reasonable prices. Plenty of room for our 32’ trailer in space 99

A very pretty state park. I came on a weekend and the campground was packed for trick or treaters. Despite that, I didn't see a single other person on any of the other trails. You can for sure get some alone time here. Just pick up a paper map and the park office because some of the trails aren't marked quite as well as they could be. There are plenty of trails here, you could spend a day hiking at this park. There's lots of birds and white-tailed deer. This is one of those places that falls between four and five stars. I wish google maps had more increments. this is more like a 9 out of a 10.

One of the smaller state parks but has a beautiful lake and surrounded by hills. The park has well maintained trails and a small but nice beach. Kayaking and fishing seems to be very popular.

We did not have time to walk on the trails or see the lake. But the campground gets one star because reserving my site online didn't work and I wasted an hour trying to do that. I ended up calling and reserving a site only to regret the site I reserved because I did not realize you can't drive into all the tent sites. We got there at like 7pm and just stayed for an overnight. The pit toilets were not the best either. Some people showed up at midnight and walked around close to our tent. We heard people leaving in a vehicle at 5am. I did not feel safe. I would not stay here again.

We arrived after hours and weren't sure what to do because there wasn't any signage telling us, and our reservation didn't contain instructions. We decided to just drive to our site and found our parking pass on the electric box. We were able to find a great spot to set up our tent at the site. We were in the tent only section, so it was nice to have lots of room and be able to tuck ourselves against the trees for privacy. Other campers were definitely loud and disrespectful during quiet hours (like until 2-3am). Restrooms were what you would expect when camping, but it is relatively clean. The hiking trails were overgrown in certain sections. The lake is beautiful, and we saw folks kayaking and catching plenty of fish. Seemed like an optimal spot to take young kids fishing.

Not one of my favorite Ohio State Parks. The hiking trails were nice and clearly marked. We saw a lot of rabbits. All of the restrooms we found were pit latrines. We were there over the weekend and all beach and fishing areas were very crowded. The crowd also seemed a bit more rowdy than we've found at most State Parks.

Beautiful in the fall. Lots of areas for picnicking. This park offers the most picnicking options of all the state parks we have been to. The entrance to the park was very festive. The historical barn was beautiful. The beach was large for a rural state park. Clean, wide and excellent sand.

We had a wonderful an relaxing time for my Husband's birthday!! The Campground host's are extremely sweet, respectful and helpful! This Park gets prettier every time we go!❤❤ I would say the only complaint would be the bathrooms/outdoor toilets need cleaned every time we are there. But still 5 ?stars!!

Love that we have a state park so close to us. You can find something to do here year 'round! There's fishing, hiking, foraging(lots of berries from late spring to early summer) camping, swimming, picnics and parties. Also, it is a great spot for taking pictures especially with the changing of leaves in the fall. My only complaint is the bathrooms need updated and the sites are a lil close but most places are like that anymore.

This was a very nice campground, we were very pleased with our cabin and it had some great hiking trails. The only complaint we had were the pit latrines, they are just about as gross at you can imagine, smell wise. I would definitely recommend camping here, just invest in a portable toilet to bring along!

Bark camp is a great place to bring your family and friends or even your church group. Today my wife got to get baptized for the 1st time and I got to renew my baptismal vowels, 8 others got baptized as well. On other hand they have a good bit of camping spots, putput golf, Horse trails, and rentals with canoes/kayaks/Jon boats. Is very easy to get to from 70 and 40.

Its a really beautiful park. Your spaces are really big. They have concrete pads to park rv on and you get a good amount of spaces in the grass. Plenty of things to do here. Martha at front desk was a doll very nice!! Electric hookups only with water spouts in several areas to fill rv and dump station on the way out. Im not sure why this place doesnt have better reviews. Its really beautiful here. Edit!!!! We atayed 3 nights. When we first got there lady at front deskwasvery nice. after that not so much. she was actually kinda of snobby when we wanted to stay for another night. We were going to stay a 4th night but when I called up there to book another night she seemed annoyed that I even called so we packed up and headed out. park is gorgeous but they lack on customer service. Another issue the dump station is set up horribly becareful or you will get nasty poo water on you bc of the set up yuk? I changed my review from a 5 to a 3 bc customer service is very important to me. We do this full time im not a picky person and often leave the highest scores on campsites especially when treated right.

Nice Campground and State Park. Most campsites are reasonable large but not much screening between them. We visited on a weekend in late August. Campground was about 60% full. Very quiet.
