If I could give this Business negative stars, I would. After paying almost $400 to even get a mechanic dispatched, we were promised to have a mechanic on site within an hour. After 5 hours of my driver sitting in -7 degree temps- we had to end up getting a tow service just to help my driver survive. We heard excuses from "we cant get ahold of the dispatch team" and " we cant find the mechanic" and then was told if we wanted refunded the only way they would provide one is through Zelle. What kind of reputable business operates this way? I was hung up on many times, asked for a supervisor who was avoiding me. Horrible, Horrible service all the way around.
This guy is very unprofessional and I would give him negative stars if I could.
My 19 year old daughter was in Williston trying to get back to Dickinson about 11pm at night when she locked her keys in the car and it was cold and wet and everything was closed and she had no where to go. All the other tow places were not available that night so it left her with not much options. She got a hold of SOS and he asked for $275 to be paid over the phone before he came to help her. He told her he would be there in 15mins but then called back shortly and said they broke down and needed another $40 to have a friend help out and would they would be there in 30mins. It took 3 hrs for some random guy to show up to help her and for him to tell her he had to go back to his house to get some tools. He came back with not any type of professional tools to unlock a car. This guy struggled to get it open and damaged the paint on her car in the process. He didn’t get unlocked until an officer driving by stoped and it was the officer that actually got it unlocked not this sketchy random dude. And she was still charged over 300 and when she called about a refund because it was a very unprofessional job and their company didn't even get it unlocked and they took over 3 hours to help when they first said 15mins
Any professional towing place would have had the right tools and would have only charged $75 for an unlock. He took advantage of a younger women stranded in the rain and cold. Would not ever use SOS even if it was a lost option again. This guy had yet one more person that has made a police report against him.
If I could give this company zero stars I would absolutely horrible experience. Stacy Cook is a complete SCAM ARTIST. Stacy Cook lies to customers he literally stole my car with a $600 stereo, because he was trying to charge me way too much money for a simple fix. I reported him to my car insurance company so hopefully no one will use him again. COMPLETE SCAM ARTIST.
Complete scam. I sent him 420$ the day before to pick up and they never showed up. Had to file police report and complaint with BBB in order to get money back. Williston sheriffs already have a case building. Don’t get scammed by this man!
Highly would not recommend. I don’t believe Stacy was going to return my vehicle to me and months after still has no returned my keys. I took my vehicle off his property and found someone’s personal items throughout it and was covered in animal hair- not to mention I had already spent $300 on a car detail the previous week. A police report was filed and he is known to do this. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Scammer, paid outrageous fee, then spent an entire day chasing him all over ND just so I could get the car off his truck and haul it myself. Should have read the reviews before calling.
Called to get my car towed to the shop because I was having issues with my electrical he said he could do it that day. He said he needed me to pay for the tow and the 1 hour initial diagnostic for $250 dollars this was January 3rd. He told me every day that he was going to get my car until January 9th when I finally said just refund me and I will find someone else. Two weeks later I have yet to hear from him or get a refund for the money. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but this is ridiculous !!
I called for a tow said it would be 15 minutes. I waited on the side of the road in negative temperatures for 6 hours. Every time I called to see where they were they assured me they were on their way. had to call someone else.
I had an interesting experience with Stacy. I gave this review three stars because he did get me back on the road within 24 hours after my rear brake locked up. Everything else was kind of weird though. I have AAA, and apparently Stacy with SOS is the only certified towing and auto repair company in the Williston area. I went through the AAA system, and the tow truck showed up about 2 hours after AAA said they would. The next day, I essentially had to call Stacy every few hours just to get any updates about whether they had looked at my car, how long it would take to fix it, how much it would cost, etc. Finally, at about 2pm I got a hold of Stacy and he said that he could fix my rear brakes but only using spare parts from a used car he had on his farm. Good with me, just had to get home. After all of this stuff, I got a rough estimate of $700 which was not a huge deal, I was just happy to have my car back and start driving home. I was told the car would be ready at 7pm at the latest, and when I called he said he needed another hour to finish. Then I met him at a random house he said he was flipping (not his mechanics shop or even his house). All this to say, I’m driving home and haven’t noticed any issues with his quality of work. I appreciate his hard work and I would say if you’re stranded around Williston, he seems to do a good job. Just a bit of an odd experience and fairly disorganized it seems.
Stacie was quick to answer the phone and dropped everything to help my wife and I on a very hot day in Epping when our car broke down. I have AAA and SOS was faster than them! I hope he keeps up the good and caring work.

When we first started working with SOS, the service was phenomenal. He was willing to go above and beyond and help us out. Which he did. He replaced all my tires. We were told we were getting $1300 tires for a discount because he had several sets on his property. A quick google search confirmed that was not true.
3 studs/lug nuts on my driver front tire were stripped additionally my car was not balanced properly. It was explained up front that the wheels put onto my car were not the correct ones for my car and it was not a permanent fix. I had to take my car to the shop 3 days after getting my car back to attempt to fix the issue of the stripped studs. They recommended that we attempt to get our wheels back from SOS and they would put them back on my car.
Now $800 later, we are told by SOS that he “gave us the tires we have now” and will have to buy my stock wheels back from him. He has been quite rude to my husband, going as far as telling him that we have been a “waste of his time, patience, & fuel” all because we would like our wheels back.
As it stands, we have already spent $800 between him and the tire shop & we are estimated to spend an ADDITIONAL $400-800 to fix this issue.
DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN!!He told me and I quote "I would send my own daughter to California in that Tahoe" (1999 Chevy Tahoe) after we gave him 2 vehicles for trade in value. We broke down halfway to California and were told our Transmission was missing more than half the bolts and all of our wiring was faulty. So far it has been 3 grand in repairs. On top of that he tried to bounce a 1,500$ check on us thinking we wouldnt notice?!? Then had the audacity to ask us if wed take a different check ?!? He got 2 vehicles (2005 Nissan Armada& 2003 King Ranch F150) he can fix for a fraction of what they will sell for.. and left my pregnant wife and I currently stranded in Nevada. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN!
The service man arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The spare donut tire was low and he didn't have any way to put air in it. I gave the service man a good tip. Google said I was 5 miles from his business but it actually was about 15 miles. The service man told the owner it was 20 miles each way so he billed me for the additional mileage. I would have originally given the business 5 stars but the overage on the mileage and the inability to get a receipt that I can turn into my insurance company reduces it to 4 stars. Finally did get my receipt.
started out to be a good experience they were quick didn’t do extras price seemed reasonable but while my car was being repaired one of his employees assumed that it was a car they purchased and cleaned everything i had in the car out. personal affects amounting maybe 100.00 everything in my trunk also threw away my registration card. stacy said he would make it right and they found the card but he has made no effort to get it to me or reimburse me for his employees mistake. i even texted him if nothing else can you mail me my registration. however he has stopped responding to me
Locked myself out in the middle of the night and called other places with no answer. SOS answered on the first call got here quickly and got it done. Was a little more expensive, but for the quick professional and friendly service I don't mind at all!
Very polite and showed up very fast. Guy new exactly what he was doing and even advise me in ways to save money in case I had any other roadside emergencies. Overall, a very good experience.
SOS towing service was very reliable, reasonable and most importantly the agent was very personable. I would recommend this service for both out of state and local.
