while winching my truck out, they hooked up the truck to the deer guard and pulled it our breaking the brackets and the deerguard itself. They denied their liability and blamed the company whose truck they were winching out.
Cordell and Joe went above and beyond the call of duty. Our motorhome broke down in Medora SD. They sent Joe (mobile mechanic) to try to fix it. When he couldn’t, Cordell came and towed it to the nearest Freightliner about 150 miles away.
To say that Cordell with Alternative Wrecker Service is a lifesaver would be an understatement. We're convinced that if it wouldn't have been for Cordell's knowledge and going above and beyond what he needed to do, we wouldn't have made it alive on our cross-country move from ND to Louisiana. Bear with us, this is a long story. It all started with questionable equipment rented from the local Dickinson Penske agent (third party, not an actual Penske location). Cordell is a contract mechanic for Penske HQ, and they are truly fortunate to have him. It started with Cordell being called by Penske to fix the driver door lock of our moving truck. He got it to somewhat work but it still needed a new locking mechanism, which wouldn't have arrived in time. That was not the lifesaving issue. That occurred 2 days later on Sunday, when we noticed that the oil was low and Penske again dispatched Cordell. He offered to check all fluids and give the truck a check-over after he heard we're moving 1800 miles. All fluids were low, except the transmission fluid, all front wheel lugnuts were lose, one was missing. After fixing those issues, Cordell offered to watch my husband drive to make sure all lights on the truck worked and to check out the car trailer. That's were the real problem was: the car trailer had no brakes. At this point, late Sunday night, Cordell offered to further check out the car trailer because he "had a bad feeling about it." Again, shoddy equipment that wasn't maintained and shouldn't have been rented for some time was not fixable. Cordell again called Penske, told them the car trailer is unsafe with no brakes and no brake fluid, and took it out of service. He arranged for us to pick up a new working car trailer at Penske in Sioux Falls. Long story short: we were very fortunate that Cordell is a contract mechanic for Penske. A true kind person, going above and beyond to make sure we had a safe trip and arrived safe and sound in Louisiana. While we're on the road, he called several times a day to make sure everything's OK and even gave us weather updates. We simply cannot thank him enough and are grateful that we have met him.
The owner of the company and his wife personally picked me up and brought me to the hotel after towing my semi to their shop. They were both the most friendly and helpful people making sure I got all the help I needed. Then fixed my truck and picked me up from the hote again in the morning. I couldn’t have asked for better service and help. 5 stars!
Had the absolute best experience getting our RV towed. We needed to get transmission work so were stuck and the only place that could take work on it was 175 miles in Dickinson. These guys conducted the whole towing experience with the most care and our wonderful people . We felt extremely safe during the whole process and they made sure we got our RV to Dickinson. Truly saved our trip so highly recommend to anyone needing a tow.
Broke down in Mandan, ND and when service wasn’t available in Bismarck, Cordell and his team rounded up the parts and got me back on the road. These guys were personable and efficient. It’s nice to see somebody who cares about their work. P.S. give them some room when they’re out there serving the stranded
My truck last night was blown off the road and stuck in a ditch. You just had to pull the truck out of the snowdrift. That’s it! I paid for it $1100. I think it’s a lot. But I got lesson: FIRST OF ALL ASK ABOUT PRICE!!!
These guys are great was stuck in a blizzard and they showed up promptly got me towed and in the shop to do repairs that I needed. Thank you for getting me back on the road in a timely manner
These people are amazing they came and towed us in a blizzard, took my work truck to a transmission shop and stored my trailer for the night. Not to mention dropping us off at a hotel after all that. Incredible people! We are so appreciative of these guys.
Broke down with a 1 ton Ram about 20 miles past Dickerson. Called around 7am, Cordell showed up around 9 to get Camper. My sons and I waited till almost eleven before he got back with a trailer to tow truck. Asked about rate was told wed be taken care of. Cordell arranged for a room at a hotel he had a deal with to get discount rate, Very Appreciated!!. Truck had to be left due to NO available parts while I arranged to get Camper delivered. Although this gentleman went Above and beyond to get us situated we were STICKER SHOCKED by his rate. Over $1400.00 to tow Ram 3500 and camper Aprox 20 miles. Cordell called to check on us everyday!! Wish I had known the rate up front.
Our company called them for a much needed worm clamp to fix my Turbo boot that had popped off. They came very promptly and fixed it quick snap. Joe was very nice and professional even though it was 3am.
I had an awesome experience with this company! The owners wife came to bring me gas and she was very nice and professional and also came as fast as she could! I definitely recommend them and won't hesitate to call them again for sure! .
Cordell went above and beyond in helping me out when my RV died out on I94 nearly 40 miles from Dickinson ND. He ended up towing my RV a total of 3 times. His experience and expertise are second to none. Beyond that, he's a very nice guy!!! He made a follow up phone call the next day to make sure we were doing ok. 10 stars for a job well done! Had a wheel fall off our 13 month old Jayco travel trailer. Cordell worked 3 days to get parts and then he helped my husband double check the other 3 wheels to make sure that they were okay. Cordell and his Guys are awesome I've used them multiple times and the are very Professional, they know what there doing and I would call them to get me out of a Jam 10 out of 10 times... I've been a owner operator for 12 years and have never trusted a better towing service.....
Good service. Called in the morning needing emergency heavy duty wrecker help, they had a driver available right away. Quick and professional -would recommend.
When first contacting alternative towing all I needed was to move a wrecked truck a short distant to be able to remove parts before insurance people came to get it and then towed it back to original shop. Very reasonable and there on time as needed . Great guy and his employee who came very professional .Every time I have called Cordell he will send truck or come himself,and if anyone says he doesn't return or answer a call doesn't know how to use a phone. I work in the oil fields of North Dakota and Cordell will be the first ( # 1 ) person I call and know I'll be taken care of.
They got a wrecker out to where I was in a timely manner. And towed my truck to where I could it fixed . The most important part is that Cordel the owner gave me suggestions and support thru out the internet ordeal until I was back on the road which was almost a week!

Cordell and Jason were great to deal with. I broke down near Dickinson with a load of cows on. They hustled to get me to town, found a place to unload my cows if needed, got my truck right into a shop and found a truck to pull my trailer and cows onto my destination!! Great, professional and friendly service!!!
Alternative Wrecker Service Inc saved the day when we ran out of gas 30 miles out. They came immediately, serviced us with gasoline, and followed us to the nearest gas station to make sure we arrived safely. At the gas station they also offered local information to us about bike trails that we were interested in riding, as well as local restaurants that we inquired about. After the billing went through for on-star, we parted ways, but Alternative Wrecker called us back to offer one more helpful piece of information that they thought of regarding local bike trails. They were very nice, very helpful, and went above and beyond with offering "extras" like following us to safety, and local information we needed. I would highly recommend Alternative Wrecker Service as they were extremely reliable!
