We have used this company several.times in the past and can not believe how this experience went with him. In the future I will happily pay 3 times the amount kevin charges for his services so we can be treated with respect, talk to a professional , not be lied to or hung up on, but most importantly to receive our personal property which is why we called him in the first place. Ahead is how my husband any my weekend went....we still can't believe it, but I have filed all the proper complaints and will be filling more in the morning.....
On 7-12-25 around 12pm, my husband called Kevin Hamby Towing to bring his truck back to our house from Kevin's neighbors home (mechanic). Price quoted from Kevin was $55-$60. My husband called Kevin back 2 or 3 times that day asking when the truck would be there and Kevin assured him it would be that evening. We drove by the business and our truck was on his his rollback parked in front of Kevin's house. Next day still no truck, no call from Kevin and he won't answer calls. After 15-20 back to back calls he answers I told him to drop the truck and we would have someone else get it for us and he hung up, also left truck on his rollback. I called back around 530pm and he said when he got home from Sparta he would bring the truck no time frame and again he hung up on me. On July 13th, 2025 at around 7 pm he showed up with the truck. Went to end of our street turned around parked where we told him to leave the truck sat there for 1.5 mins and started to drive away all whole my husband was trying to get out the door to him with the money we had left outside all night night before in a designated area for kevin incase we were not home when he arrived. He finally answers and said to tell my husband to walk further cause he was taking the truck back to his house and he left. Said to get our truck back it would cost $130 for his tow bill, another tow truck would have to come get it and his bill would have to be paid before they left with our truck. I called sheriff's office and will be filing a RIT in the morning with the clerk of courts office.
Mr.Hamby was very friendly and helpful. We needed service on a Sunday evening and he was more than willing to help us at a reasonable price. 100% recommend his service!
Do not use the company , paid money for them to show up and was told it would be 90 min and they never showed up waited over 3 hours and they would not answer the phone
Used this gentleman for a roadside assistance tow of my Harley Davidson. Was not exactly equipped to haul it properly. Wound up dropping the bike while unloading and is not willing to work with me about any insurance information. Didn’t even leave me a receipt for the tow it’s self. Would not recommend at all. Called about getting a receipt for my insurance company and he absolutely refused to give one then got belligerent with me over the phone. Finally he just hung up after I asked about his insurance information. Do NOT use this company for a motorcycle tow.
One of my customers used this company on 3/21/17 for a tow which she was going to be reimbursed for we only asked for a copy of the bill with her information such as vehicle name and location towing had occurred. When we got the receipt her name was NOT spelled correctly no location information no year of vehicle or any common information that is usually on these type of invoices. I called the Hamby towing I spoke with a woman who transferred me over the gentlemen who was the driver who provided the tow. The guy who I won't mention his name out of courtesy I will not mention was RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL DISORGANIZED AND SOUNDED VERY UNEDUCATED simply told me he could NOT send me a CORRECT INVOICE because he already sent that to the tax people and he would have to call 10 people to get the information so HE SIMPLY WOULD NOT DO IT. I replied back in shock "i'm sorry"? He said I have people in front of me and I wont do it so bye! in the years we have worked with towing companies we can say its not always pleasant but I never heard of a company refusing to provide a decent invoice for services rendered I mean this was just amazing to me how someone like this gentlemen is even still employed! Do yourself a favor if you do business with these people demand a receipt right there and then and make sure he spells your name correctly to begin with urge them to provide the correct information otherwise you will not have any proof you even used this company and who knows what else they will screw up. We will never refer or do business with this company again
