I stayed at Camp Sea Gull for a few days during a work retreat, and it was a great experience. The cabins were simple but clean, and the view from the rooms made mornings really enjoyable.
The staff were friendly and helpful across the board, but I especially want to recognize Sam. He led our team-building activities and did an amazing job. He explained the “why” behind each challenge, pointed out how communication and trust play into how we work together, and kept everyone included and engaged. Throughout the day—and even during meals—he was present, supportive, and created a positive vibe that helped our group connect and understand each other better.
Sam genuinely made the experience memorable for me. If you’re planning a retreat or group workshop, I absolutely recommend Camp Sea Gull—and I definitely recommend asking for Sam if you can.

Things we try to instill in our children as parents. It’s a crazy world out there, and it’s tough for a parent to find a camp where you can trust that your children are in caring and capable hands, while being taught valuable life lessons, using everyday activities as the toolkit.
I went to this camp my entire childhood; and am blessed to be able to send my children there.

Our son has attended camp for several years and had a generally good experience. This past summer at age 13 was probably his most productive and busy to date, emphasis on ranks.
However, he has ended up in the infirmary at least once each summer. Last summer it was a flu pandemic that hit half the camp, and he had to come home for 4-5 days. This past summer it was a day visit due to fever.
Great camp I've been going for 10 years and love everything about it, great experience made even better with the great staff who work there butts off to make it happen and I hope to continue going as a counselor in the next few years
I've been taking my children to Camp Seagull for years. Covid shut the camp down last year, but they came back strong this season. This place is truly magical!
I have made some of the best friends I will ever have at camp and I can’t wait to go back next near. The power boating program as well as the sailing is great. I personally love the Alpine tower. This camp is special for everyone in its own way.
I went to this summer camp last summer and it was one of the funnest times of my life we got to fish in the ocean and we got to see sting rays and king mackerels in person. There were so many fun things to do there, my only regret was that I did not earn more acheivments and ranks. Thanks Camp Seagull
My Son attended a sailing event at Camp Sea Gull for 3 days & had a blast!!! Cabins were clean. Staff friendly & helpful. The event was well organized & such a great experience that my Son wants to come back & attend summer camp there for a summer session.
Looking back, reminiscing about camp seagull. I had the best experiences, made life long friends that I still keep in contact with, long after the age limit, and made memories that I will never forget. They also had grant opportunities when I was a kid that gave me the opportunity to attend seagull. Camp seagull was a great experience, and I will never regret coming here.
Cabins and bathrooms are poorly maintained and there is zero privacy in the bathroom shower areas. YMCA should really look at addressing this especially since they have mixed gender and age based events use the facilities like YGuides. Very awkward.
If I were paying for the full summer camp experience for my kids I would be bothered by the quality of these facilities.
My son and I are at camp Sea Gull with the Y Guides for spring retreat. The YMCA really did a great job planning and organizing the event. lots of great volunteers were really appreciated also. I would definitely recommend bringing your children here, just make sure that you have the stamina to keep up!
Great place for kids to go in the summer! Its run by the YMCA so expect some Christian background in the way they do things, but it's not at all churched up.
If only I could give this camp 10 stars! This is the best environment for young men to develop into men. Summertime at SeaGull integrates goal setting, lots of fun, character building, physical activity and integrity to build the healthiest and most well rounded citizens in our country! Love this place and so happy we have such a long relationship.
1st time attending as part of a special weekend camp for parents/kids; tons of fun; something for all ages; well run. Make sure to go out on shark tooth island...loads of sharks teeth and other interesting things and supposedly the bay where Blackbeard would hide his ship and attack ships when they ran a ground...his treasures are buried all over these parts...maybe you will be lucky enough to find some, but the beauty of this area is treasure enough.
I cannot say enough great things about camp seagull and the staff. My daughters and I have been coming here for years with the y guides program and have so many priceless memories.
If you get a chance to send your child here make it hapen- top notch program and beautiful layout.
Very nice place, fun time with my son for y-guides camp. Food seemed ok to me, but I wasn't expecting steaks or anything. Coffee was good but is cut off after breakfast, so bring coffee if you like coffee all day. Bring your bikes for sure, lots of bike area. The only drawback was that despite repeated requests from yguides staff, alot of dads choose to leave their cars parked around the cabins. The area around the cabins was basically a parking lot, with cars everywhere. The kids were crawling under the cars trying to retrieve balls, they were parked in the middle of fields and play areas, blocking the great views of the sound. Besides that, I can't wait to come back with my younger kids.
I've had the opportunity to make some amazing memories at Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer with my oldest daughter through the Y Guides Spring Outings. We've loved bonding with our tribe over zip-lining, hiking, canoeing, swimming, archery, s'mores and so much more at the camps. Cabins, facilities and everything else are all in great condition. Looking forward to returning this Spring!
It was a great experience overall. There is an activity to do for everyone to do based on what you enjoy. The food could be better though. The counselors are also nice and helpful.
Our son attended the 2 week session last summer and he matured six months in that two weeks. It was an incredible growth experience for him. He loved it so much that he looked forward to the next summer (when he could stay 4 weeks) all year long. He was so excited the night before camp started this year that he could barely sleep.
My three grandchildren have attended camp Seagull and Seafarer...one grandson for four years now at Seagull, one for two years. The fact that they want to go multiple times is testament to its outstanding program. We love it!
I went there. My sons went there. It is absolutely the best thing that can happen in the life of any boy. They teach kids how to get along with each other while having a great time outdoors. Water sports are a specialty, but most all the traditional camp activities are available. It's a YMCA camp, so values are important.
