These two guys are honest good people. I was waited for 1100 dollars from Firestone for front breaks calipers and Roaders thankfully I went and got a second opinion. This shop did everything in the open and showed me that my front break pads were more than fine and so were the roaders and calipers. However the back break pads needed changing as they were worn down a decent bit. This shop changed them and charged me a very fair price. I can’t stress enough how professional and honest they were.
I can’t say enough good things about this shop. This past weekend had been so stressful trying to figure out a battery draining issue to my car that was causing it to go ballistic and limp mode, so I could get back to northern VA after training. Turns out it was my alternator that failed causing the issues. From the moment I called, they treated my situation like it truly mattered.
They went out of their way to fit me into their already busy schedule, quickly diagnosed the problem, and worked efficiently to get my vehicle running again. What really stood out was their honesty, compassion, and willingness to help when I was in a tough spot. They didn’t try to upsell or pressure me — just genuine people doing everything they could to help. I’m so glad I didn’t actually go to BMW but found a small business owned shop instead.
Thanks to them, what could have been more of a stressful event turned into a smooth and reassuring experience. It’s rare nowadays to find a shop that combines great mechanical skill with real kindness and integrity. I’m incredibly grateful and will absolutely be returning here for any future car needs that may rise during my travels down here (I hope not but in case). Definitely will be recommending and referring everyone that I possibly can to this location. HIGHLY recommended and thank you so much again!!
I arrived promptly at 8:00 a.m. to what appeared to be an oversized dead-car sanctuary. No signage. No people. No signs of life whatsoever. For a brief moment, I wondered if I’d accidentally wandered onto the set of a post-apocalyptic car movie. Clearly, PHP Motor Sports & Auto had cleared their entire calendar just for my 8 a.m. appointment — because nobody was there. To be fair, it was the day after New Year’s Day.
That said, I’d been quoted a great price over the phone for an oil change on my 2018 Super Duty with the 6.7 diesel. I made it very clear I wanted Rotella T-6 (all 13 quarts of it) and a Motorcraft filter. The guy on the phone didn’t flinch. No hesitation. No sigh. A good sign.
As I dropped off my big, black, beautiful truck and stepped into what can only be described as the smallest office/waiting room attached to a gas station that time forgot, doubts crept in. Do they really have my oil? My filter? Short answer: no, they did not.
But here’s where the magic happened. Within five minutes, a courier showed up with 13 quarts of 5W-40 Rotella T-6 and a Motorcraft filter like it was an Amazon Prime miracle. I was officially impressed.
Then came the moment of truth: a bold “CASH ONLY” sign. My stress level spiked… until they happily accepted my Discover card. Crisis averted.
Best part? I paid $100 less than the Surf City shop — the same shop that took two and a half hours to do an oil change with an appointment. PHP had me in and out without the drama.
I’m genuinely glad I found PHP Motor Sports & Auto. I’m already crossing my fingers that when the time comes, they’ll work on my 1959 Morris Minor Traveler. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they could do brakes on my 35-foot fifth wheel too — assuming, of course, there’s somewhere to park it.

This Guys saved My Ass on our Road Trip. My truck had Brake issues. On a Saturday they organized me a tow truck. He brought me to theyr shop, organized the Parts and fixed my Truck in a few hours. Very nice oldschool guys with good knowlege about Everything. I drive a F450 Ford and you have to go to a diesel mech. But the Boss meant brakes are brakes, just a Little Bigger. They renewed my complete rear Brakes in a 100degree july heat afternoon. Price was excellent so is the whole Shop. Great Guys.

I had my A/C Condenser fail the day before I was going home to NY from vacation in Topsail, I took it there and they diagnosed it immediately on the day I was heading home (a Saturday) at 9:30 AM and they got the parts and fixed the car by 11:20 AM for a very reasonable price. Lifesavers! They are also so friendly and you can have a great conversation with the mechanics!

Looking for a talented, knowledgeable, and trustable mechanic? Samuel (“Sammy”) Oldaker the owner of PHP Motorsports is your guy! My family and I were traveling from Massachusetts to Florida with a stop in Sneads Ferry when our 2011 Honda CR-V refused to start. Naturally, it happened on a Saturday afternoon. My wife and I needed to be in Florida by Monday @9am to start the work week so we did not have the luxury of waiting till the work week to have the car repaired. Searching the available shops, we quickly found almost all were closed for the weekend, except PHP. I called and explained the situation to Sam who agreed to wait for us to get the Honda towed to him, which turned out to be well past 5pm (maybe even past 6pm). Sam quickly diagnosed the issue (the alternator has seized) and agreed to come in at sunup to get the parts and perform the work. As promised, Sam had the Honda ready to go early Sunday morning, allowing us to hit the road and be ready for the work week.
So, by now, you are wondering what this all cost. After all, Sam came in at the crack of dawn on his one day a week off to help a bunch of Yanks down on their luck get on back on their way south. The repair charge was way more than reasonable. I’m talking, great deal middle of the week pricing for day off Sunday work.
Anyway, while I’m sure this embarrasses Sam, but we (the family) really want potential customers to know about PHP and the kind business Sam runs. So, if you need a repair, do yourself a favor and call Sammy!
This was the only shop open on a Saturday, they helped me by resolving two check engine lights relating to bad temperature sensors and saved my vacation.
Sammy resolved these issues so quickly that he didn't even charge me! Great shop, I was really impressed by their customer service.
Sammy is awesome and doesn't discriminate. Old vehicles like mine or new , European vehicles. They all get fixed super quick and at a fair price. Plus Big James is the best ford mechanic hands down.
My car was overheating and this was the only shop open on a Saturday. I asked if he could diagnose my problem and he did within 5 minutes. His diagnosis was correct, I replaced that part he said went bad and haven’t had an issue since. I’d definitely take my car back here for any future issues!
We were out of town and had car problems. Sam got us right in and did fabulous work. He found other issues and fixed those as well. He's fair with pricing and we made it home for a 11 hour drive without issues the next day.

The absolute sweetest, best wholesome guys i have ever experienced in an auto shop. I got a flat tire and they helped me out when i was stressed. They didnt had my specific tire but they literally were trying to find my size so that i can be on my way. The customer service was top notch. The prices are so good, the best that i have had to deal with. I highly recommend them and i will recommend them to all of my family and friends. Ill be back for my future car needs.

This past Wednesday I was on my way to work when my car was vibrating and would barely run and I knew immediately something was wrong. I came home and my husband took it down to Sammy who said he could look at it that day! We got my vehicle down there the same evening. He was able to distinguish my throttle body wasn’t clean and when this happens my vehicle won’t run he was very on top of things. I got a call the next morning that the vehicle was ready for pick up & the price was very reasonable! Sammy is very professional and knows his stuff. When I arrived he walked me to my vehicle explained everything and made sure I was able to leave with no further issues! I will use them for any issue I have in future! Highly recommend!
The engine light starting FLASHING on my moms van at 9pm the night before we were to head home from vacation. I messaged the FB account and was told to be there at 8 when they open. We were 6 hrs from home, had to check out that morning so we had to load everything up with 2 kids and no clue what was wrong with the van. Long story short, We were blessed to have found this place!! Sammy found the problem, explained it to us, fixed it, his wife even went to pick up the part that was needed and dropped it off and we were on the road by 9:30 (and all this on a Saturday!).
I wish they weren’t so far away so we could get all our car needs done here! Can’t say thank you enough. Oh yeah, he even reached out later that day to see how it did on the drive home.

Sammy is a lifesaver! I thought I was going to have to get a new car, turned out to be something so simple and crazy we never even thought about it. So thankful he lives in my daughters neighborhood and took the time to come over late at night to run a diagnostic on my Sequoia! Turned out to be the key I was using which for anyone out there, learn from my lesson, not all spare keys are the same! Tuned out this one only opened my doors didn’t start my car ??♀️

Sammy is the man ! I had been searching for awhile for a good set of used Tires. Not only did he give an excellent price, but he came in on his day off to set and balance the tires on my truck. I was reluctant bc I was driving from 2 hours out of town for used tires, but they were better than advertised and now since his service was so good, I would think about coming for other work I would need done! If you are in the area do not hesitate to have Sammy work on your vehicle.
My dealership quoted me $482 to get and replace a part. I bought the part for about $70. Sammy at PHP told me the labor would be $60-120, depending on what all they had to do. I wouldn't have known either way, but he ended up charging me $60. He's the most honest and reasonable mechanic I've met, and I've gone here for everything for several years now. Thanks again, Sammy.
Quick and reasonable. Sam was great at explaining what was wrong and then breaking it down for someone who is not car savvy. He even showed me the old vs the new parts and explained their functions. His explanations were reassuring because they show that you're paying for something that you need. Good dude, go here.
Best mechanic in the area. Help resolve my car issues when "Rick's Repair service" couldn't. Stay away from "Ricks", big waste of money and time. The work was done in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. Very happy and will definitely recommend to friends.

I will go out of my WAY to come to this place. The guys here are friendly, the are what I like to call ' local, family friendly, people'. They have even helped me out when I needed it at a LOW cost!! But I have been going there for years, very nice people and they go out of their way for you also. If you want it done right, not to get ripped off go here. I bring in my car to these guys for just about everything. They're good at what they do and they always get the job done quick, most of the time they're done the same day you drop it off. They have great prices and they care about each customer that walks through their front door. If there's anything they cant do, they don't jut send you on your way and say "good luck." They let you know the best and most reliable places to go and get what you need. I recommend these guys to everyone and no one has had any complaints.
