These guys did an amazing job working on my husband’s truck! They are professional and will not steer you the wrong direction. They installed a 7” lift and were extremely helpful helping us find what we wanted for his truck. Will be returning to do my wrangler.

This shop has built 2 trucks for me, and each experience has been right on target. The first build to a 2014 GMC Sierra a year ago price was right, completed in a day, handled great, and made it saleable. Recently, the guys built my 2022 GMC, and I am well pleased with the same great experience. I highly recommend them.

DJ and his crew are some of the best they are very thorough and very reasonably priced super easy to work with each time we have had them do upgrades for us.

Do not recommend. They nearly killed me. I took my truck in (1995 f350 single cab 2wd dually) for a camber adjustment and alignment. I needed this work done because I had recently put in a complete performance 2" leveling kit on the front suspension. The suspension on these trucks can't be lifted further that 3" without other modifications needed. You can check the CP addict website and see that the only suggestion with the level kit is a 2-2.5° camber bushing. So with the 2" level it gave positive camber. I dropped my truck off Thursday picked it up Friday afternoon. It was hassle free and to me $300 was a deal. I payed 300 to have my truck handle worse and nearly kill me. They failed to tighten the camber caster bushing on the drivers side causing my truck to pull to the right. My truck spun out on a slight off ramp turn. I did a 360° + a 180° turn before I stopped nearly hitting a light pole. The only reason I didn't roll over was because my truck is a dually. I thought the steering was funny but I didn't realize I'd lose control because of it. It used to pull slightly to the right. Now it pulls so hard left that I can merge left within 30-50ft without touching the wheel. I also made another right hand turn where the wheel jerked right and when I fought it back center the steering wheel was then turned 1/4 turn to the right. That's when I finally parked and found that my camber bushing had backed out 1/2 of the way. I called them immediately and they suggested I tighted the bolt and drive it back ( I nearly crashed 2 times on the way home and they knew this, rather than send a tow truck to safely get it back I had to drive it back ) they further said that they'd fix the camber today (Friday September 13th) and align it on Monday (September 16th) rather than align it same day to fix their mistake that nearly cost me my truck and possibly my life. The only good thing they did was get to fixing the camber bushing as soon as I got back. They test drove it and turned the wheel all the way left and right and said it was fine. So i drove it, it pulled hard left and when you cut the wheel all the way right the tie rod hit the control arm. So they lied. I had to further argue to get them to adjust where the bolt sits on the tie rod so it wouldn't rub. They blamed the tie rod touching the control arm on the 2" level but it never touched before I took it to them. I understand mistakes happen, and if it's minor, it's not a big deal. But when you nearly wreck your most valuable possesion and die because of the incompetence to tighten one bolt it becomes a large issue. Had I rolled over the resulting investigation would have found that the loose camber was the result of the loss of control of steering. There's not many bad reviews and I hate to make one. But when your work can kill people it should be known.

JD and the crew are extremely knowledgeable and honest. Brought my ( new to me ) 2014 Wrangler in for rattles and suspension issues. They identified the worn/ broken parts and replaced at a very reasonable cost. I’d trust them with any job.

These guys are so awesome and know there stuff. Rebuilt Jeep front suspension and very happy with work. They also installed blue ox tow plate for me

I have had my truck here twice. A couple years ago I went to another lift shop and I thought I was getting a deal. Which I got, but I had to constantly get parts replaced from shoddy work. I got fed up and when I needed all my front end parts replaced I came to Jax 4x4. Not only did the guy replace the parts, he told me to upgrade my upper controls arms to grease fittings. A couple months ago I went in to have my lower ball joints replaced and it was done in a day or less for a reasonable price, plus had my oil pan gasket replaced. I trust them with my truck and will have them service my truck when it needs done. Great service, reasonable prices, great work they stand behind.

I left an unwarranted negative review in the past about a set of spacers that I had purchased from Jacksonville Van & 4x4 Center. They didn’t fit my truck and I was angry because I couldn’t get my money back. I should have done the research for the spacer and not taken it out on the business. These guys are actually very helpful and not out to screw anyone over.

The guys at Jacksonville 4x4 recently installed my aftermarket wheels & tires, and a Flowmaster FX exhaust kit. I ordered the tires from them (Radar Renegade R/T 35x12.5 20), and brought the wheels and exhaust to them. Great work - completed it on time, fair price on the wheels and labor, and they answered a ton of my questions throughout the process. Overall, I’m really happy with the results and would definitely recommend them.

Don't fear the misc reviews, they know their stuff. They re-geared the differential on my 2021 Jeep Gladiator. With it being a new vehicle and a difficult task I did a lot of shopping before selecting Jacksonville 4x4. They are seasoned. I went from 4.10 to 5.13 because I run 39s. Why the negative reviews? They aren't wonderful on the phone. That's fine, I wanted a good mechanic, not a new phone buddy. They do what they say they do. If you need something worked on I wouldn't hesitate to bring it in.

Customer service is not the best, the man at the counter was hard to work with. Apparently my rear view mirror had fallen of the windshield when they received it, but never said anything about it until I confronted them on pickup 4 days later. Unless you trust them, I don't recommend doing business with them.

This place is the biggest joke of a 4x4 shop, clearly says welding/fabrication work and driveshafts. Neither of which they could do, didn’t understand how to make a driveline off of trail gears slip and couldn’t do basic sheet metal welding. If you want a basic box lift installed because you can’t work on trucks then this place is for you.

One of the best places in Jacksonville NC to get your truck custom done! I did a lift kit and ordered threw them 2412 wheels with 33inch tires. Better prices than anything you will find on the internet! Great customer service and quality work!

Great shop! I will only take my lifted truck to this shop! Professional service and cool guys!

Had then rebuild a transfer case. Installed it finally. Leaks from everywhere. Rattles like it has marbles in it above 40mph. Could not shift from 2H to any other position. Horrible work. Never go there again

If you care to read, I’ll leave a very detailed review. Summary: “oh we didn’t know what you wanted to do with it so it’s just been sitting there” WHEN THEY WERE THE ONE WHO SUGGESTED A CERTAIN EXHAUST TO ME!!! I’m assuming my experience is not a common one with them, my friend got his exhaust done here a few months ago and loved it and strongly recommended. However, I call TWICE about it, once to set the appointment and let them know what I wanted to do with the truck, and the second was to confirm the appointment. I spoke to two people, a different one for each call. I explained the style of exhaust I wanted and they said they had a great idea they wanted to do for it so I told them to go for it. I drop it off the night before said appointment, and don’t hear anything after two days, I call them to follow up with it, and they tell me “oh we didn’t know what you wanted to do with it so it’s just been sitting there” WHEN THEY WERE THE ONE WHO SUGGESTED A CERTAIN EXHAUST TO ME! So needless to say, three days without a truck and no exhaust, I am beyond upset.

I understand being busy But I took my car to have the exhaust redone, all they could do was the headers. I got my car back that day and it was in worse condition than when I dropped it off. Won’t be going back.

Excellent service and reasonable pricing. They were honest and fixed my death wobble! Not going to overcharge you for parts or labor definitely recommend if you have a lifted truck or Jeep

I had my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss lifted with new rims and tires I purchased from Jacksonville 4x4. DJ and his crew are extremely knowledgeable about everything 4x4 and off-road. Great prices with great technicians. AAA+++ CAPT. MALAVENDA USMC ( RET.)

Awesome shop, had them finish/ fix my exhaust system. They had 4 trucks in front of mine to work on and still finished my truck before noon at a great price. She sounds like a totally different beast!

Im running true duals on a k10. The entire exhaust needed to be replace and fabricated. They did just fine bending the pipes to fit just right. However, The mufflers they installed failed and cracked open due to a lack of support. And the welding was for the most part. Pretty trash, maybe they didnt think I'd have to pull it out one day, but it was pretty heinous. I'll email pictures if you ask for them, but today, I'm spending repairing and replacing.

AWESOME Customer Service. I bought a lift kit for my 1999 Jeep Wrangler from Extreme Terrain and had them install it. They normally only install kits they buy, but had no problem installing the kit I provided them. They also provided me with a few extras at no charge! The BIGGEST thing, is a few weeks later, while having my tires rotated at NTB, the right rear shock literally "snapped" while the vehicle was lifted. No other place in Jacksonville carried a new extended shock, so I called them explaining what happened. I stopped by and they gave me a FREE used shock that fit my vehicle until Zone Shocks can send a replacement. INCREDIBLE SERVICE!

I’ve had 2 exhausts done on separate vehicles and both time the work looked and sounded amazing. The give fair prices and the work fast as well! If I ever need work done before I get out of the military I will definitely go back to them.

Thes guys are awesome! Really Good people that do Really great work! They have done a lot of custom work for my Cherokee and she couldn’t be happier!! Very fair pricing and shop fees. Attention to detail is spot on and the welding is art!! I do most of the work on my Cherokee myself, however when it’s something I can’t fix, I bring it to Jacksonville 4 X 4 because I appreciate them and don’t trust anyone else to work on her.

I’ve taken my truck to them multiple times and each time they have done an excellent job. If there are any issues with their work (which are few), they will take care of it no problem. As much as I care for my truck, it means something for me to say I’ll it back for anything else I have done.

Horrible place. Got a 6" lift put on my 05 Silverado back home, we weren't in town long enough to get an alignment so when we came back to Jacksonville I figured this place would do it. Well I had new brake calipers and brake pads put on it back home. Jacksonville 4x4 said that I needed new ones even though I just had new ones put on. So thanks guys, will never be going here again.

3.5" Rough Country Lift two thumbs up. This is my second experience with this company and both have been very positive. Approximately 5 years ago they rebuilt the rear axle in a 2005 TJ jeep I had. It leaked about 2 weeks later and I took it back to them and without any issues they fixed it with urgency. I think I might have been down for 1 day. They didn't charge me for the second repair and they didnt give me a hard time about it at all. They just installed a 3.5 inch lift on my 2014 JKU freedom edition. I priced the dealer for a 2 inch lift and they were 2,950.00 ish. I called Jax4x4 and they gave me 1105 (approximately) for the lift with install of this 3.5" Rough Country. The ride home was as good or better than the stock suspension. I took pre and post measurements and got a 4 inch lift from this kit. I crawled underneath and looked at everything when I got home. It all looks like they installed everything correctly. This kit included all of the brackets to drop all of the brake lines to allow enough play for flex with the suspension. Beside being shiny and a bolt head having a little shine from a wrench everything looked as good as OEM. All in all, they recommended this brand and lift and I am thoroughly pleased. One more thing, the turn around time on their work is amazing. You will never get that kind of communication or speed from the dealer. (trust me, I go to the dealer for alllllll of my general service needs) I asked about the previous google reviews and they were happy to explain the three bad customers. One of whom was kicked out of the Marine Corps. Every business can not please every customer because if they did, they wouldn't be in business. Judge this company on the work they are producing, not on three bad customers from the past. I don't know anyone from this shop or have any stock in this place. I am just a satisfied customer and thought that other potential customers should get an accurate description of what to expect from JAX4X4 work. These previous reviews almost ran me off but I am glad I stuck to what I knew of the company from about 5 years ago. Thanks for reading my review. I encourage other happy customers to bury these negative three reviews. Doing so will help this company to stay in business and be there when I buy another jeep in a few years and need another great lift.

This business is a disgrace to all 4x4 shops in America, not only will they rip you off but they don't even know what they are doing! I was in the Marines when I took my brand new truck to them for a complete straight axle conversion. They convinced me they knew what they were doing and that they would only take a few weeks. They had my truck for 2 years! Yes I said 2 years! I paid them over $5000.00 in the first year for parts that they said they needed to start the job. They kept all the parts including some original parts they took off of my truck. They did the worse chop job I've ever seen with used parts out of junk yards or whatever they had laying around. I contacted the BBB and reported them with what happened I then contacted Lawyers and sued them in Small Claims Court. Because they couldn't read his mess of a receipt that he would scribble on every time I paid him more money they wouldn't refund me any money. So the end result was that my truck sat for 2 years while I was making payments on it and I lost over $5000.00 of parts. My truck had to get towed away to another shop and everything they did had to be completely re done. Dan the Owner of Jacksonville 4x4 will completely rip you off and has no idea what he is doing! Do not give him your business!

Had rear end bearings replaced, no complaints on service, but they we're a bit expensive...@560. And they didn't go out of their way to clean up the old oil that had leaked out.

I had a good bit of work done on my FJ Cruiser here and the quality of work went from bad to worse when I took it to a competent mechanic in the business for over 30 years. The first thing I had done was a bumper installed that came with some fog lights, should have been a simple job but turned into a nightmare when I discovered that the wiring had been strung like piano wire over harsh edges and shorted out the system after a mere few miles of road driving. The wiring job from hell did not stop there with the excess wire that came with the harness just strewn through the engine compartment back to the firewall gasket. Instead of routing the low-voltage switch through the firewall grommet, which already had factory holes for things like the hood release, they cut a hole on the seal itself, ruining the grommet and the waterproof nature of it, also causing the wire to rub against the sharp metal of the body. The switch was then Velcroed hook to hook, instead of hook to loop, so it constantly fell off. That is just the wiring issues. Next up is the high pressure air conditioning hose that ran near the bumper and was not adjusted when the bumper was installed, causing the bumper to rub through the air conditioning line, incurring over $300 in parts and A/C evac and recharge costs. I also had suspension work which included an OME kit with shocks and springs all around and All-Pro upper control arms. The OME kit was installed with the driver side and passenger side springs on the wrong sides of the vehicle, with the stickers saying driver and passenger clearly visible (OME does this to compensate for driver weight/gas tank location/etc so the vehicle stays level while under a full load). Needless to say springs all had to be rotated to the correct location. The upper control arms have grease fittings and do not come pre-greased from the factory and were not greased after the install(something I had to take care of immediately after receiving the truck back). I also had steel braided brake lines from All-Pro off-road installed, at least on the front. The shop said that they could not get the rear brake lines to seal properly and they could not install them. First shot my other mechanic had them on without issue. All in all this was all very disappointing to me and caused me to incur some significant costs in order to fix the issues that were caused by the install performed here if I wanted to have a reliable vehicle for the purposes I was using it for. When I contacted the shop about these issues the person I spoke to said that it was not their problem and that the work was not warrantied so there was nothing they could do. This shop came highly recommended to me by some close friends that had some major work done on their vehicles here and later they too discovered it may not have been what they thought. I was hoping to find a shop I could rely on to work on my truck when I needed as the life of a United States Marine doesn't always lend you with the most free time to work on one of your passions, but sadly enough this is not that place.
