These guys got our car towed to the tire shop in town. Very responsive and reasonably priced. Austin was the young man who came out to help us. Very polite and efficient. I'd recommend these folks every time if you need towing.

Papa‘s towing went above and beyond the call of duty In helping us get a travel trailer off a flatbed delivery truck. The job proved to be way more complicated than it looked, and these guys stayed cheerful and helpful to the very end. I would call them again in a minute.
Papa‘s towing is always just a phone call away no matter what time of day or night. They work with food trucks, and personal vehicles as well. The owners are amazing people.
These guys moved my 31-foot Airstream from a super sloped, narrow space -- seamlessly, without damage or complaint -- and got it off its blocks and down the road safely to its new home. INCREDIBLE!
Long review, but I want to give the full context of how great an emergency experience was handled by Shara and Papa's Towing......On a family trip to Nantahala area, my 2017 Ford Focus hatchback, loaded with luggage, myself, and two teenagers, had a tire go flat on 40 west just before Black Mountain....It was 6:00pm, thundering, and the drivers side rear tire. I was too uneasy to change the tire on the side of the interstate with traffic and nervous teenagers watching. Luckily my fiance was in another vehicle and stopped with us. So we piled into that car and drove to closest exit and stopped to gather our thoughts at the Dairy Queen.
We called 5-10 tow truck company's in a panic. Some were hours away, some did not answer. Papa's towing answered and informed me they did not have any driver's available but were going to call there backup driver to check and see if they would be able to come by tonight, and would call me back. Within an hour they called and were ready to come that night to help.
Since we had two vehicles, my Fiance had an idea to have Papa's Towing pick up my vehicle with the flat, tow it to their shop in Spruce Pine, change the tire and keep it at their shop until later in the week when we were on our way home from our vacation. This way we did not have to: get a hotel room near the vehicle and deal with tire changing the next day, double back to pick up the vehicle on the side of the road once we got someone to change the tire safely, etc.
Shara immediately agreed and gave us a price to tow, store, and provide a new tire. Four days later we all piled into the one car, luggage, two adults, two teens, and a 5 year old german sheppard and drove to Spruce Pine. My car was waiting with a brand new tire!! I paid via online portal, and drove east and made it home to Raleigh with no issues.
In these moments of panic, nerves, and logistical nightmares related to booked Travel, Shara and Papa's Towing were angels. Every interaction (text, phone call) no matter the time of day was 5 stars. I hope someone reads this review and saves Papa's contact as their ONLY choice for towing when out and about in Western NC.
Our experience with Papa's towing far exceeded our expectations. Mel, the owner of the company showed up incredibly quick. The response time couldn't have been any better. The interactions between himself, my husband, and I were very professional and well as personable. Even though we just met Mel it felt like we were talking to an old friend. He was friendly and genuine. My husband called 4 other towing services before calling Papa's towing. Three of these towing services had unreal wait times before anyone could come out to assist us. The fourth company could/would not come out because they said where we needed to go was out of their range. Finally, we called Papa's towing. I am so thankful we did. They came to our rescue promptly instead of the 4 or 5 hour wait times the other companies were telling us. I would give Papa's more than 5 stars if possible. This is a top notch A+ operation. It's rare to receive such exemplary service now a days. If expertise, experience and professionalism is what you are looking for in a towing company then call Papa's. Thank you Mel for for making a bad situation so much better.
Papa's was exactly the experience I had hoped for when I was already having a rough day. I'm new to town and wasn't sure where to go for a tow. Papa's was professional, courteous, easy to work with, and affordable considering I needed a tow an hour away.
They are also really through if you need a receipt for insurance or reimbursement.

I would like to thank Will & Mel with Papa's Towing And Recovery for their kind gesture to my 80 year old father the other day. After my Dad and his truck became stranded in Spruce Pine with a wobbling wheel, Will & Mel towed & repaired the truck, filled up the gas tank, and delivered my Dad home near Kona and the truck. They refused any payment. It's hard to describe how meaningful of a gesture that was. To pick someone up who was down and makes things better at no cost is so honorable. I will be their customer for life.
I can't say enough about these great people. We were on the side of the road with a flat tire on our motorcycle. They went out of their way to help us out with our situation. Mel called a friend who owns Grumpys Customs cycles. Got us hooked up with a tire late on a Saturday afternoon and got us on our way. Jerry was our driver he was super nice and helpful. Very reasonable rates.

These guys are the kindest, most professional people around! I have used them many times and they’re always prompt to show up, they take great care in loading, transporting, and the unloading of your vehicle! I’ve used several in the area and they’re by far the best! They don’t treat you as a burden! Just a great company run by a good wholesome man who cares about people and giving the best service for a very reasonable rate!!!!!
They came when no one would! Fast friendly and professional! I have a low car, with low profile wheels and tires and they were able to load / unload with not one scratch or issue. Don’t hesitate to use them, top notch service.
CALL PAPA'S FIRST! Absolutely one of the best customer experiences I've ever had. Quick response, excellent communication and FANTASTIC service. Mel, the owner, was truly a savior. Our truck broke down coming up the mountain into Spruce Pine while we were towing our 32ft travel trailer. We were heading to Bear Den campground for a nice, relaxing mountain getaway. Well, that went south pretty quick. We didn't have a clue what to do or how we were going to get out of our situation. I called Papa's and talked to Mel. Within 40 minutes of me calling him, he showed up with the necessary tow equipment for our situation and relieved so much of our stress by towing our Truck AND our Camper to a safe location. But this review doesn't stop there... Mel came back the next day and towed our Camper to the campground (with my wife and I riding shotgun in his truck!) He made an absolutely horrible scenario into the best it could have been given the circumstances. The icing on the cake is that Papa's rates are extremely fair and WELL WORTH the price. THANK YOU PAPA'S TOWING AND RECOVERY!
Had to have my Buick towed home last night. Mel came to the rescue, he arrived when he said he would. Got to work and had us home in no time! Was friendly and great service! Definitely will be calling them for any road side service needs!
I don't normally leave reviews, but I have to leave a review for these guys! A friend and I were at a remote campsite up in the mountains that required 4wd to get through the pretty rough terrain to the site itself. While we were camping, it became so rainy that my friend's car got stuck in the mud. I called 18 tow places trying to find someone that could either make it up the mountain or was close enough and no one was willing to help, but after calling Papa's, they were willing to help us out and drive an hour or more to get here - on Easter weekend, no less. These guys are awesome!!!!!!
Mel and his team were awesome! They provided excellent customer service, and picked us up on the Blue Ridge Parkway within an hour of calling! Great pricing and again very very kind. Call these guys up when you need a hand!
Where do I begin? We had an overheated car on the side of US 221 at 6:30 in the morning. Ryan was our driver and by far, we've never been so taken care of. He
not only helped us find a reliable mechanic, he also helped us find a rental vehicle solution to get back home, and a place to eat after the hecticness of a morning. Calmed me down and was down to earth the whole time so I was less stressed. He even helped call places to figure out where to go for whatever we needed. Honestly he deserves to more than 5 stars, absolutely best company and made this morning better than it could have been. I'll leave a review on Can't praise this man and company enough.
Mel and Jordan were absolutely awesome! My work truck was stuck in the snow. They drove an hour and a half to get to me. While they were on their way, it snowed again, hard. By the time they made it to me the road around was also slick and steep for them to reach me. They spent about an hour and did not give up. They got me out of the ditch, then used straps to turn my truck facing the direction I needed to go on the narrow road, then hooked my truck up and towed me up the steep hill until the road was manageable for my truck. All while acting and speaking in a 100% professional manner. I really appreciate you guys and reccomend you to anyone.
Papa’s came to our home and did a fantastic job managing our difficult driveway. Then he took great care and concern loading my husbands 1968 Chevy C-10 truck onto the flat bed. He took his time and checked all around, many times stopping in between pulling, to be sure the low sitting truck wasn’t going to scrape anywhere. We were very appreciative of the professionalism and care!
Papa’s Towing and Recovery helped me out when i needed A truck towed to another location. They were very quick to respond and very professional. They had the vehicle loaded and delivered within an hour! My experience with them was beyond satisfying and we will be using them for all of our local hauling needs from now on.
We called them on a fairly short notice to have a full size truck to hauled to Boone. They were great to work with and made sure the truck would be at the mechanics shop on time. Very affordable and friendly.
My pickup died on a dangerous section of local mountain road. Papa's Towing arrived about 15 minutes later, loaded my truck on their flat bed wrecker and took it about 15 miles to my mechanic and then took me home. Service was professional and friendly and about half the price I was expecting to pay.
