Haywood County Materials Recovery Facility in

I go to the recycling center on Jones Cove Rd in Haywood County at least twice a week, and the amount of trash backed up there is absolutely unacceptable. This is not a one-time issue—it looks like this every single visit. Instead of properly managing the site, I repeatedly see workers standing around talking or going through people’s trash and loading items onto their own trucks while garbage continues to pile up. Meanwhile, the facility is being neglected. These conditions are not only disgusting, they are a clear public health hazard. Excessive waste buildup like this attracts rodents and creates sanitation issues that can quickly get out of control. At this rate, the rat problem is going to spread well beyond that location and into surrounding areas like Canton. This appears to be a violation of basic sanitation and public health standards, and it needs to be taken seriously. If this situation is not corrected immediately, I will be contacting Haywood County officials and the health department to file a formal complaint. Do better. This is a public facility, and the community deserves better than this.

People should be thankful we have a place that can take all our trash and junk. Quit complaining just drop your crap and move along
