The folks at this place were super friendly and very helpful. We were out of town and were concerned about a noise our truck was making. They had us come in same day, took it for a drive and knew exactly what it was. The girl who ran the desk, Sam I think, was very personable and made our wait enjoyable. Thor was an added bonus! 10/10 highly recommended!

Great folks, honest! I broke down on my way home from work in Trade at Bulldog. I called Wrenchworks and spoke to a very helpful young lady named Sam and she said she would get a truck out too me ASAP. It wasn't long and Charles arrived and he towed my Subaru to their shop. It needed a power steering pump. They got my car fixed and back on the road. These are great people to work with and very honest! Highly recommend!!

Amazing customer service. I was back on the road less than 30 minutes.

They caused significant damage to my truck. Went in for a cam shaft sensor and it was dropped into crankshaft pan TWICE and they had to take my transmission down TWICE. They fired the mechanic but charged me over 2000.00 and when I picked up the vehicle my check engine light was on and I mentioned this to the mechanic outside and there was an obvious leak in turbo you could hear. Charles put it back on the lift again and did work on it himself… when i picked the truck up that time i was already without a truck for a month an i use it for the construction business i run. The truck broke down 15 days later with turbo issues and a leak in the line Charles supposedly replaced … Charles white told me not to bring the truck back to his shop. Please don’t take your vehicle to these people. My 2015 Ford f150 was never the same after leaving his shop and I ended up paying another 3000.00 to repair what he messed up with his addict mechanic. However, Sam, his office asst was very courteous to me and did try to help but her hands were tied by the owner

Great guy and great service! Our van suddenly started having a squeaking noise that was definitely our serpentine belt when we were coming through town late at night, on a road trip, the day after Christmas. This guy checked and verified it, assured us we were good to get where we were going, and had a quick fix for the squeak. If I lived in Boone, I’d definitely go to him, and if I ever have trouble again when I’m the area, I know what to do!

This was my second time coming to Wrenchworks. I felt a little uneasy about my brakes and took it in after my first initial experience was great. Sam was very helpful in keeping communication between what was going on and did research on all of my options and laid out all of the possible cost options. As a college student, this is incredibly helpful. Charles also was very helpful and always does a good job at repairs and is a really knowledgable, honest, and friendly guy. Wonderful service. Quick, professional and affordable service when I got my car stuck in a ditch on a Friday night of a holiday weekend. I was referred by the Art of Living Retreat Center staff and am so grateful to have found this local business. I could have called AAA, but Mr. White was infinitely more helpful.

Friendly and prompt service from their office and the man who rescued us — highly recommend this company. We got stuck and needed to be winched out of a muddy situation (4x4 was not working) and they were there within an hour. (AAA was going to be a 3 hour wait so we were able to cancel that!) Thank you!

There are so many words to be said, for starters I asked God as I glided through different car repair shops in Boone as my son’s Jeep had broken down and needed to be worked on and He had me pick them. I am over three hours away from my son as he attends the college there and I felt so lost in how to begin to help him from so far away. I called and Sam answered the phone I told her a little about what was going on and she had me to have my son call her. He did and it was continuous communication and great service as his vehicle was repaired. He got his his Jeep back not long after they took it in and our hearts are happy. It’s fixed and running awesome. I highly recommend them for anyone who needs car repairs with a side of GREAT service. Thank you whole heartedly for taking care of my son this mom is beyond grateful!!!

I cannot express the gratitude I have for this company, Yes it's a towing company but they also do repairs and maintenance and it's always monumentally cheaper than any other places around. I'm a broke collage student, but to me this place is affordable and can always accommodate you even after midnight during a weekend. Been here several times and will continue to come here when needed. Need a tire? They got you, need a window replaced? They got you. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

Fast service, great job. On a recent trip to Boone we encountered some brake problems with our Pathfinder. We stopped at the O'Reilly's and inquired about a mechanic to repair the rear brakes on our vehicle. Wrench Works was recommended and I was surprised to find out that he was open even though it was past 5PM. We pulled in to his shop and his mechanics removed the worn brakes and rotors. He went to the parts house and got the new ones, and we were back on the road in about an hour. I highly recommend Wrench Works. Open late and reasonable rates.

Charles saved the day!!! I was encouraged by the positive reviews, and absolutely shocked to find there is such thing as an emergency mechanic (and that he was willing to take a look at a car at 9 PM as we rolled into town)! With a Quick Look, he immediately identified what he thought was the problem (invisible to our eye, and lack of expertise). Sure enough, he jacked up the vehicle, and was able to prove to us that our tire had been on the verge of exploding. He miraculously found a used tire in his stash that could fit the bill, so that we didn’t have to be stranded for half a day on our road trip. We were in and out within an hour, and even dashed over to get fast food across the street to feed our hungry crew. We consider Wrenchworks a miracle that saved our family from what could have been an inconvenient disaster on the side of the road! We wish we could take Charles with us!! :)

My last name isn’t shamblin it’s Britain!! This place is amazing. My car broke down at my job and the girl that worked with me told me about wrench works. They came and got my car, took it to the shop, checked it out and called and told me he can fix it. Fixed he did. He went above and beyond for me the newbie in town and got me back up and running. Charles was our savior today. Stuck on top of Seven Devils in our 2020 GMC Sierra. He brought his diagnosic computer and jumpers...had us up and running in 10 min. We then went to his shop where he chaned our battery so we wouldn't get stuck again. Really great customer service. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks Charles!!!!

Very personable, friendly people. Brought my ford here for repairs when it broke down and the rpm’s were wacky and it lost power. Little communication on when I could pick it up, it’s rare they answered the phone. Couldn’t find the problem with my car but when brought to another mechanic back home (was there for school) the problem was so bad that they said they aren’t sure how they couldn’t notice fluid leaking out of my suspension system and I had multiple broken control arms, and my throttle body needed cleaning. Both shocks needed to be replaced as well, not sure how this was completely missed. Needed two new tires on the back, they replaced with spare ones they had which they said were fine. He did mention one would be loud because it was chopped up a bit, didn’t bother me. The air leaking bothered me. Brought it to the mechanic because they were BOTH leaking air now. Mechanic said they should have NEVER been put on the car because they were adding onto the issue with my control arms and now my alignment is messed up. $3k worth of repairs which could’ve have been fixed when I brought to them. Would give them another go if all of this wasn’t missed and I wasn’t $3k down in repairs because my car wasn’t properly cared for at the time.

Called this morning around 10:30am and by 12 He fixed the muffler on my car for a low price. Was very understanding of my financial situation and very blunt on the condition of my muffler as well. Was very professional and done an amazing job with fixing my car. I would definitely recommend when in an emergent situation.

From my experience with the guys at Wrenchworks I have nothing but good things to say. To start off they saved me over 300 dollars and a sketchy job by going with them instead of Mr. Tire just down the road. Mr. tire wanted 970 dollars to install an alternator and a new battery in my 2010 Camry. Instead I had it towed to wrenchworks and in the same day they were able to do the work and do it for 624 dollars which as a college student that type of money goes a long way. As well, they were so nice they had a guy come all the way out to get me at my house completely out of town during the holiday season. These guys are honest and they do great work. If you were considering going with someone else, save your time and go to Wrenchworks, you won’t be disappointed.

Drove our '91 yj jeep for her maiden voyage from Mount Airy, NC to Boone only to have it almost catch on fire from a brake caliper getting stuck!!!! He was able to slap on a new one in record time all before grabbing a tow so we could get back down the mountains safe and sound. Our Jeep needs a little work and the guy even shook my husband's hand for having the biggest gonads in Boone 🤣 We would've literally been stuck or on fire had it not been for this shop. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏽

I recently had to get my car towed from Boone to Charlotte. This team was very responsive and accommodating. They were staffed all through the night and gave us a great service. I highly recommend this company for any towing or service needs. They gave me a loaner vehicle while my car was towed and delivered. A stalled car is very stressful situation, it was very calming to get a responsive crew to handle the situation

The staff at WrenchWorks were super friendly and amazing to work with. My family and I were vacationing in Blowing Rock for spring break when the coolant temperature sensor in our 2016 Tahoe went bad causing the fan to continuously run and the temperature gauge to stop working. When the local Chevy dealership turned us away because they couldn’t fit us in, I found WrenchWorks online. Charles said “bring her in as soon as we open at 10am and I’ll get it fixed”. A few hours later and we were good to go. The location was perfect to walk into downtown Boone and around ASU’s campus, too, while we waited.

Great experience with Mr. White and the guys at Wrench Works. Very knowledgeable with custom audio setups and careful with their work. Got my Durango in and out way faster than I expected and even changed my rear blinker for free. Good people and great work over there!

Amazing service and hospitality!! I highly recommend Wrenchworks Auto & Towing LLC and the owner Charles for being more than welcoming. We are from out of town and were highly unprepared for the snow so we got stuck at the bottom of a hill and on slick ice. We initially had another tow company come but they said it was too slick even with chains on and wasn’t able to come down the hill to get us. When Charles came, he did not hesitate to come down immediately. Our rental car didn’t have the eyelets needed to tow from the front. Luckily, Charles had some rope that he tied to the frame. There wasn’t any damage to the vehicle and we made it up all the way to a safe road. He also went above and beyond by pumping the tires up since he noticed the tire pressure was a bit low. We cannot thank him enough for making sure we knew that he would not leave us stranded.

If I could rate him a 10 star out of 5 I would. My gratitude for Charlie and his shop Wrench Works Auto can’t be put into words. Thank you doesn’t even come close. My experience with Charlie was beyond positive, enjoyable, and meeting him was a bit of a miracle. This isn’t a paid review, this is a genuine review from my heart to express my appreciation for this man. My car engine blew up when I got over the last mountain to Boone, and I cautiously pulled up to the only auto shop in sight, Wrench Works. I’m a 27 year old female, I had never been to Boone, I was nervous and a little frightened to walk into an all male auto shop. Luckily, once I met Charlie I immediately felt at ease and knew he was a genuinely good guy. I met Charlie and he literally dropped everything he was doing to help me immediately. He was kind, professional, polite, and such a gentleman. He diagnosed my car immediately and offered to go to the auto store himself and grab the parts I needed to fix my car. He invited me to join, so we grabbed the parts and even got milkshakes on the way home, lol. Not only did he pay for my milkshake (thank you!), but he fixed my car and is ultimately the sole reason I was able to get back to Charlotte safely without being stranded on the highway. Meeting Charlie that night was a miracle, and I highly highly highly recommend his auto shop to anyone who is looking to buy a car or have their car fixed. He’s an honest, kind man who knows automobiles from the inside out. He gave me an AMAZING price for the 4 hours of work he put into helping me. If you need any maintenance, or want to buy a new car, go to Charlie. He’ll give you an honest deal without trying to be a jerk and sell you out like so many auto dealers. I don’t ever write reviews for businesses, but this guy is a saint and is a trust worthy mechanic. Get to his shop asap, you won’t be disappointed! Thanks Charlie. You’re the absolute best.
