My son and I got a battery for his 2010 Dodge Challenger in the summer of 2025. He was off work on Sunday and his car was cranking fine He went to crank his car Monday morning and it wouldn't crank. He ended up getting a ride to work. On Tuesday he was off work and a friend came over and gave him a boost. It cranked right up and he stated the battery probably had a bad cell. I followed him to Advance in Jamestown where we originally purchased the battery. As soon as we parked, The car wouldn't crank. The associate that helped us test the battery said ithe battery was good. He said he couldn't switch the battery out , even though it was under warranty. He began charging it up outside and the car wouldn't crank. He continued to have my son try to crank it and it still wouldn't crank. I think it flooded the engine and it began making different sounds that it didn't before. So we ended up having AAA come out and they towed it to the dealership. I think his persistent antics ended up damaging my son's car. I feel it would have cranked if he would have switched the battery instead of trying to avoid switching it out and not honoring the warranty. Right before AAA came the other young black associate came out to help us and said he would switch the battery and not the one that messed up my son's vehicle. He put a new battery in and my son tried to crank it. By that time it was already damaged. I haven't heard from the dealership yet, due to them not getting to it yet. I appreciated the young man that came out to help us after we stood in the cold. I work at a Bank and we handle Advances accounts. The one across the street from my job always help us and I trust them. But the next time I need a car part or help, I'm going to Autozone or O'Reilly. I hope the car wasn't damaged to where we will have costly repairs that could have been avoided. And I wanted to commend the young gentleman that came out to try and make it right. It was the first time I had such a bad experience.

My biggest problem with Advance auto is their prices. I find them to higher than their competitors. A can of spray paint will be 15 bucks and the same can at Walmart is half of that. Always shop around and don't shop for convenience. I called about a head gasket set. They tell me they don't list one. Ok? Sure. I call OReallys and they had one in stock. Advance concerns itself with their commercial accounts. Those accounts get discounts so they can charge us more . So Advance charges us more. There commercial accounts charge us more. So either way we get the shaft. That's why I shop online. Most things are half as much and I get to look to make sure my parts are right . Cut out advance and their accounts. So that money stays in my pocket where it belongs. I've been doing this for forty years. No matter how sweet they screw you you are still getting screwed. Screw them first. Just feels right.

I searched online for the exact fit parts for my 2015 Jeep Patriot. When I got to the store that listed 4 parts in stock, they only had 2. They did have a special bundle for oil and filter that saved me a few dollars. The manager and co-worker were friendly and she tried looking in several different places for the cabin air filter and drain plug gasket! One thing that stumped me was the ATF fluid was not stocked on the shelves. Walmart stocks a few on their shelves. Maybe they keep it in the back so you have to ask for it. The store was very clean and well lit! I will continue to check with the store for parts before going. Lesson learned! Gave 4 stars only because of friendly staff.

Needs more staff maybe but guys they have are knowledgeable, friendly, even put on wiper blades for you rain or shine. I'll wait a little for good service

A great place to buy automotive parts. The staff are very knowledgeable. And they know what they have in the store. Jenny went out of her way to assist me with my automotive repair. She is an exceptional person to work with.

I started having car trouble and was 1.5 hours from home and I came across this particular Advance Auto …. I am so glad I did. Noah was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. He was able to diagnose my problem and communicate it with my husband over the phone. My husband came to us and had what we needed so I didn’t have to buy anything but I certainly would had if we needed it. Noah went above and beyond to help us and made what could have been a very stressful situation more than bareable. While I waited for my husband to arrive I witnessed Noah interact with several other customers and he treated them all with the same kindness and professionalism. Every store needs to have a Noah on staff!!

I stopped in this store this evening while traveling and having trouble with my battery. Literally, in a town where I knew no one. The two gentlemen working tonight were not only knowledgeable, but went above and beyond to get me back on the road safely. I literally arrived 15 minutes before closing and they made sure I was helped before calling it a night. It was also very cold. Despite all the unfavorable circumstances, I never felt like a nuisance! They treated me like a valued customer and took such good care of me. I’m so grateful for their help or I would not have been able to continue my trip as planned.

Stopped in today to have the code read due to a check engine light. Nick was very knowledgeable and helpful and getting the problem solved. Highly recommend this place due to Nick's professionalism.

Just visited the location in Jamestown and once again.......received outstanding assistance (thanks Daniel)! This time I just needed to change out the wipers on our Audi (Q3) and of course a lot of the different websites list replacements that are not quite the same. What I was reminded was to go in to the store and talk to the professionals who work there every day because they can save you time, effort and money. Simply put, they know which parts to go with and which ones to avoid. Go to this location and you won't be disappointed, they get my recommendation!

I usually have great service at this location but today was horrible. Refuse to switch out my brake pads which have a lifetime warranty. And then he want to be argumentative with me so yeah I probably won't come back to this location. Please train your staff to honor warranties and to be courteous to their customers cuz the black guy with the dreads he was horrible.

Great service except the same man I’ve dealt with 2 times bad attitude say he doesn’t have items and then the next day I found from the store manager they do and again try to get a part and before even looking it up he said we not gonna have it and Guess what they do have it this happened just tonight

The staff there was one of the best steps I've ever seen any Auto parts or mechanic storm. I don't remember his name but the young Jim and that helped me I do know was retired military or had left the military and was extremely helpful and nice and polite. He definitely made the experience the best one I've had any advance Auto parts and I would highly recommend this place is just a long story on his sells expertise and I'm certainly going to come back to this place.

i went into the store in jamestown to originally get oil and a oil filter to do an oil change , an employee by the name of phillip recommended 10w30 for my car that takes 5w20 , he made it seem like 5w20 and the brand of oil i got would ruin my car. he specifically said if i want to take good care of my car i should get 10w30, because it’s thicker and because of the heat outside it would run better in my car. come to find out phillips recommendation ruin my car anyways. he even looked under my hood and still said that 10w30 , would b the best for my car. said the computer said that 10w30 was also correct. now not only do i have an oil leak ; i have metal in my oil and i have to get my timing chain tensioner replaced. the GM at this specific location is useless and honestly wasn’t helpful at all. she refunded me for the oil and the filter , which was about $50. she told me and my partner that “she gave us money to go get the car looked at” . no where in my city will do a diagnostic test for $50. everything cost over $100. my uncle came and looked at the car , i told her what he told me and she said that it was impossible for wrong oil to ruin my car. everybody knows that bad oil or the wrong kind can mess up your engine and the components inside of your engine. all she said was “call the number i gave you it’s nothing i can do , im not sure why you keep blaming phillip”. needless to say , i wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. she acts like she’s sweet and helpful but she really isn’t. i wish i couldn’t even give this place and this lady 1 star. i wish i could post a bicep on here to let everybody hear the difference from a couple of days ago to now. 0/10 i don’t recommend. and stop having people recommend things that the computer doesn’t say! phillip recommended this off the top of his head. what a shame.

These guys are really experienced. I went there on a Saturday to find out why, after being charged just a year ago, my A/C had leaked. It was blowing hot air--just like the wife! I couldn't take it. So I stopped by to see if they could help. After checking, the associate determined that though my system was good, it had a small leak, possibly around the O rings. He suggested an A/C seal and charge called A/C Pro. I allowed my vehicle to cool down, then followed the instructions on the can to the letter. My A/C is blowing ice cold. Too bad it doesn't work on the wife. Anyway, thanks to these guys, I saved myself a lot of money for an extensive repair that I wouldn't have needed. This is my new go-to place for automotive supplies and support.

Love going here for all my auto part needs. They usually have what I need. If they don't they can get it for the most part. While prices don't compare to Amazon, I go here for the excellent customer service and make sure I'm getting the correct part. Staff is top notch and always courteous and professional.

I needed to pick up some engine oil for my vehicle and my first choice was Advance. I was greeted with a smile and immediately waited on. Great service and always helpful. Kudos Jenny for being so patient with me. Continues to be my first choice for my automobile parts.

These guys are the best. I live in Florida where I have had awesome experiences with the guys there. I needed to borrow a tool to switch a trailer ball (didn't have mine with me). Not only did they find a tool, they switched the ball. No matter where you go, u visit the guys at Advance Auto.

Just left this store with a better experience the store manager Jenny had apologized 2 weeks ago and assured me that it wouldn't happen again she gave me a $25 gift card to make up for the poor service I had received 2weeks ago. Super friendly and great experience. Thank you ---Original post: Just left this place. I went there to get a part for my niece car and first thing I see one of the employees sitting down at the cash register eating bojangles. I asked the other employee for a part and he said he never heard of a Toyota Yaris. While talking to the other employee she interrupt us to talk about she got the wrong order. Then when I asked what's more important the customer or her bojangles chicken the guy told me don't worry about it. Upset me so much I turnt around and left. Both workers were very unprofessional rude and a be waste of my time. I just moved to Jamestown and I will drive extra miles before I ever step foot in this store again. Good customer service is very hard to find.

The office team was friendly through out the entire stay. Paid for an upgraded oil change, that included a tire rotation. They said they could not find the wheel locks. Went to pay and was still charged for the rotation. Went to the car and the wheel locks were right on top of the spare tire. Had to wait almost another hour before they rotated the tires.

Had a great experience here. My additional sale was under $20 if the girl told me if I spend another dollar then I would get $5 off. So I found like a dollar air freshener for the car and my total ended up being around $16 so I got $5 off. Would have never knew if she did not tell me and she did not have to. Also they're good about installing your battery if you buy one or disposing of any oils you may have that you cannot just throw away. Great for quick car parts as well.

Great service from their technician or representative named Jackie. She is a great asset to that company. She did not only help me with my vehicle she showed Care and concern and knowledge about my vehicle.Jackie was very friendly and very professional. Advance auto need to have others to mimic and or train from her because she out shines all the reps that I have encountered at advance auto. ?

Poor stocking, wanted to buy seat belt shoulder pads was informed they only get 1 shipped at a time that makes no sense since you have 2 seat belts in the vehicle. So I now understand why most auto part stores are going the way of dinosaurs. Very disappointing.

These guys are super nice and they helped us save money on our battery purchase. They were also polite, offering a chair since I was carrying our baby around while they installed the battery. For good service and a pleasant install technician, come here.

The prices are a little higher than online discount shops or Walmart but they have good customer service and are willing to answer questions and perform small installs and car check services for free. I do all my mechanical work on my three cars so this comes in handy when diagnosing issues.
