Pull-A-Part JunkYard in Winston-Salem (NC)

This is a first. Sometime ago, a friend of mine gave my son a key fob. He loved to carry it around and pretend it was his own key. Recently we lost it. I woke up this morning to the sounds of my son frantically searching his room looking for this little key fob. I spent the morning brainstorming, trying to figure out where I could find one. We stopped by this location with our fingers crossed. I explained to the employees what happened and that it didn't need to be any specific car, but I just needed a key fob that had a button with a little key that flips out. They were able to pull a box of key fobs out, and let my son test out which one he wanted. For three dollars I got to listen to my son tell me "I'm just so happy about it!" The employee that helped us even gave my son a keychain to go along. Thank you for making my son so happy with some thing that is so out of the ordinary. It's the little things that count.

It's your typical pull it yourself auto salvage yard . They have a pretty good selection of parts, used wheels, and even used cars . The prices have gone up substantially , and a few members of the staff need to be working at Walmart where their hateful attitudes can be put to use. I would still recommend going this place, just don't expect to see any happiness whatsoever.

A friend of mine told me about this place.I drove 2 hours on a Saturday from Roanoke Virginia trying to find some parts for my car which can never be found in virginia. And for a car that belong to a lady at my church that I was working on. I have a 2008 Hyundai, and they had 03-06 models. 07 was a year when they did a model change, so I brought everything I could think of with me so I could compare what parts will fit and what parts would not because I was unsure of the compatibility. As I was checking you out I asked if they did a military discount. I was told that they needed to look through my tool bag. They pulled every possible part out of my bag. I was told to read the policy, the policy on the boards states that every part coming in has to be checked in. . I tried explaining my situation to them how I was in a hurry I drove so far I brought what I could so I could compare and I was trying to get back to Roanoke to pick my son up by 4:30. My Hope was that I could speak to someone. They pulled everything out of my bag. Down to two headlight covers from car that I was working on buffing out with my son down to the obvious brand new ignition coil I had bought that morning at O'Reilly's. So the presumption is is that there are no exceptions to the rules and if you're not trying to buy it then you are a thief and then they offer to sell me back everything that I had brought with me which I did not have the money to rebuy and I certainly was not going to buy it twice. If it's related to a car it has to be checked in or you will not get it back. Very unhappy with that. Thank goodness I didn't have my car keys in my tool bag or I would have been stuck there because they would have taken those too. And thankfully the lady from my church did not get upset at me and still allowed me to do work for her even though her part was confiscated.

Do not buy a car from here unless you are a mechanic. I spent $5000. On a Ford Escape and after paying for the vehicle and signing the paperwork the guy told me to take it straight to a Ford dealership and have the recall fixed on it (something about the shifter). I did and it started smoking like a freight train on the way. Ford told me it needs new engine and gave me a quote of $8000. The way he told me to take it straight to a dealership Pullapart knew what they had sold me and did not care.

I had a car that was taken and then abandoned at a business and not salvageable, police notified me. I called Pull-a-part to sell and scheduled an appointment, accepted the offer for the next day to remove it from this business. 30 to 40 minutes notice between 8 am and 5 pm, at 4:15 pm got a call from Burgos and Sons Towing to reschedule. Inconsiderate and incompetent. Completely wasted my time. I would consider alternatives for selling junk cars.

I was in Winston Salem at a nearby hospital while my elderly mother was having surgery. The surgery went well and a good friend of my mom's drove her back to our property in Virginia. They were driving my mom’s paid for 2021 TRD Off Road Toyota 4Runner. I had traded vehicles with my daughter. She owns a BMW e90 328i and I have quite a few restored cars plus a BMW e60 550i. So, browsing an automobile recycling center can pay off well for me. For example I found a piece of dashboard trim for my 1995 Impala SS last Monday locally here in Raleigh. I go to LKQ because that’s my only option. Pull-a-Part in Winston Salem is twice the size, organized and clean. You can even rent a golf car. The prices here were much more reasonable than I’m used to. It’s $2 to enter the yard and LKQ charges $3. I’m on a fixed income so these dollars matter. The staff I dealt with were gregarious unlike what I’m used to dealing with. Vicky and Veronica gave me a hard time for being “that guy” that security had to kick out at closing time. I just lost track of time looking at the retired Crown Vic Interceptors. I’ll definitely take a little side trip here on my next visit to my property in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I had been looking for parts for a Volkswagen Beetle for a while. I finally came to pull a part In Winston-Salem, N.C. First let me say,due to back surgery I can't walk much but that wasn't a problem. The young lady I dealt with(AMY) got me a cart so I could ride the yard to get to the car I was looking for. I located it quickly,due to the fact they have a great system.I rode back in and told Amy that I had no way to get them. She said she could fill out a work order for it to be pulled for me. She called me the next morning and said they had it ready. AMY was very knowledgeable about the cars,the parts and she handled everything perfectly. Thank you.

Has others have mentioned very well organized. The staff are very polite and very helpful they don't mind answering your questions providing pricing and/or instructions. They seem to have a very good selection of most of the popular banks and models. Of course I understand the inventory is always changing and the fact that I can find something this week doesn't mean to say it'll be there next. Will definitely be using them again.

Got some parts I needed for my car. Went to pay and their computer crashed. They ended up charging me twice. Took me almost 2 hours to try and get a refund. No manager to be seen. Horrible customer service. They'll take your money but sure don't want to return it

Nice clean yard, cars well spaced, super helpful and friendly staff. Shout out to Rob, who saved my bacon by calling me when a golf cart became available. These guys and gals rock!

Called for price of inline 6 motor 175. Pulled a bare block/ head. Charged 120 for head and 220 block.was told after questioning price to buy it or leave it after spending 2hrs pulling it🤬

I'm a regular at Pull a Part's Charlotte location, and in my never ending parts searching, I ventured up to the Winston Salem location. This is a very well-run facility! The yard is huge, and very well organized. Prices are good, as I expect from Pull a Part. The staff is great here as well, which really makes all the difference in any business. I will definitely be returning to this yard!

Were very helping with accessing some parts for my 2005 Acura TL would recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable car parts!

The staff are extremely helpful and use a computer system with well organized auto location. They give you an extensive list of cars you can search. They rent go carts and tools if needed. The parts you need are cheap. This is the place for auto parts.

The phone system is atrocious to say the least,was looking for a used part,but with this aggravation of the phone system,I'm just going to buy a new part,far less hassle,my time has more value to me. If your patient you may have a better experience. I had 9:59 on the call and never spoke with a person live.

I went to Pull-A-Part on Patterson Avenue to get a battery for my car and a radiator I got my radiator, it works great! and I also got a basically brand-new battery thanks to Charles my new cashier friend he went above and beyond would not settle for just any battery he made sure to check the voltage for me to make sure I wasn't buying a dud thank you so much to Charles you are the man! I'm also applying for a job there soon

Finding a part and car location is easier than ever before with the new self serve station! And you get to rent karts for $5 an hour.

Best car part deals in town. Get the VIP card, saves you a $1 getting in to find used car parts you need.

Have bought several parts when they first opened and prices were good. The last couple of times I have been there, including today, paid one dollar to get in(normal for member) spent 30 minutes removing the part I needed, went to the counter to pay and the parts were 10% above NEW retail price so I left them on the counter. This has been my experience the last three times I have been there and I would advise checking with Amazon or Ebay first. I will not be returning to pull a part. The cashier was rude and told me it was my choice to buy and showed me on his phone that it was cheaper on Amazon so I told him he could keep it. I guess getting nothing to them is better than giving their customer a good price on a used part.

I had a scheduled pick up for a vehicle on Saturday the window was 8am -5pm. I waited all day for them to call me at 4:30 and tell me they were short on help and the tow truck broke down. So they tell me they will be there Monday to get it between 8 am and 10 am. I get a call at 1:30 pm that the tow truck broke down again. This has been a the biggest inconvenience.

Rob was very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend going here. Had exactly what I needed. Will be back for sure.
