I have hard a working relationship over the past couple years with Garry which has also turned into a personal one. My wife and I recently welcomed the cutest kid you've ever seen into the world in February and we knew our current car situation would not suffice. My wife's late father had one of his old work trucks sitting around collecting dust and we thought - maybe we should be this up and running and see what the damage was. I called Garry and before I could even finish asking him about it he was offering to drive a hour and half to Asheboro - up a steep drive way - and pull this 07 tank of Chevrolet Tahoe down. I told him I wasn't sure the condition of it due to how long it would be sitting and Garry told me if he couldn't repair it for a decent price he would buy it from me and let Grayson sell it on their car lot. Garry was almost over communicative throughout the process keeping me updated and asking me if I would want him to check on this or that. I told him that my biggest concern was the safety of my wife and son and anything that he thought would be needed to the truck he could go ahead and get taken care. Well by the grace of God there were only some minor repairs that needed to be made and Garry got it up and running just like it did the day it rolled off the lot. Garry doesn't know this - but my wife started crying on the way home because she was so overcome with emotion that she was now driving her dad's truck. Our son is named after him - so we now have Baby Jay - and what we will refer to the truck - as Big Jay. Guardian Angels work in mysterious ways because Jay has continuously blessed us even though he went to the big HVAC shop in the sky during 2020. I truly got the full Whiteheart & Son's experience from Andrew towing the truck - Garry overseeing repairs - and Grayson driving all around Winston - Salem to pick up parts. Thanks again Garry. Good things happen to good people and Garry is one of the best there is.
I called to ask for a general estimate for a repair on my vehicle, not an exact quote, just a ballpark range to help gauge whether it was worth bringing the car in. I fully understand that no shop can give a final number without seeing the car in person, but an experienced and competent shop should at least be able to give a basic idea for a common issue based on experience.
Whoever I spoke to seemed unqualified to discuss repairs, but I could hear they were consulting someone else, who I assume to be a technician. But from what I could hear, it seemed like neither were qualified or competent enough to be working on vehicles. Instead, they just kept circling the conversation. I feel safe to assume one or both of them were technicians.
The conversation gave me the impression that they were either acting incompetent, in an attempt to price gouge, or were displaying genuine incompetence. Either way, I didn’t leave the call feeling confident that they were competent enough to work on the vehicle for a reasonable price. The lack of experience/understanding of what fixing the problem would be for them was extremely off-putting.
Exceptional work and communication as always.
Update: this place continues to keep exceptional work and customer service - despite any strains you or they might be feeling because of COVID.
It's a pretty low key vibe with no pressure for unnecessary upgrades or add-ons.
As you sit in the lobby waiting for them to finish your car, you are likely to notice that they get a lot of regulars. People they know by first name or face. People they've had a relationship with for years. Which (imo) speaks highly of the staff, the business, and their quality of work.
Update #2: This was the first time I've had to visit them same day for an "emergency". They were extremely understandable and helpful. Worked on my vehicle in-between scheduled services and thankfully were able to make the simple repair same day.

Outstanding. Traveling with my 3 childrem from MI to SC. AAA left is stranded for over five hours late into the night. Can't tell you how grateful I am to Whitehead and Sons. They towed my car, helped us get safely to Winston Salem, diagnosed the problem, helped us find accommodations. They made some calls, found someone willing to come in to their shop on the 4th of July to repair our car and got us on our way in a day without charging us an exorbitant amount of money. Tremendous amount of integrity.
Grayson as well as the entire staff were informative, straight-forward, not pushy, and overall awesome throughout the whole car buying experience! I actually walked away from a different dealer offering a one year newer model Civic at a comparable price, due to the genuineness of the Whitehearts.

I bought my 1984 f150 from here. I worked with Grayson Whiteheart and he was amazing to do business with. I live over 3 hours from the business but he was great about being available for my questions. He sent me tons of pictures and videos of the vehicle. once it was delivered not only did it meet expectations, it exceeded them. Upon arrival he gave me plenty of time to do my own inspection of the vehicle and test drive it. The paperwork process was also very seamless. I would definitely recommend doing business with Grayson no matter where you live.

Recently, I was in Winston for a conference and, of course, got a flat tire, on a Friday, mid-afternoon. Whiteheart & Sons was recommended to me by another repair shop who could not see me before closing. Whiteheart & Sons worked me in almost immediately, fixed my tire, and sent me on my way in about an hour. I am still so grateful they were able to help me, and were incredibly kind about it. If I lived in Winston, they would *immediately* become my regular repair facility.
Grayson was very professional, and a very nice young man. Have been looking for a Jeep Commander, and came across Whiteheart and Sons on marketplace. Sent them a message and the rest is history. Told Grayson I could not come and get the Jeep, and that I lived 2 hours away no problem he brought it to me. Very fair pricing!!

Awesome! I'm visiting from Florida and my breaks weren't working. They took my car and checked it out and found the problem real fast. Jack - front desk - was super nice and understanding...great customer service. Troy - the mechanic - was great by double checking my breaks were working by taking extra measures by driving it down the road and just being sure that everything was top notch.

Last Wednesday my car was stranded in Winston-Salem and I needed a tow to Siler City. It was late at night. Reed showed up within 30 minutes of AAA finally calling him. He was real nice. Gave us some good advice on what the trouble might be and had us back home in an hour or so. I highly recommend this company!

They are honest and I trust them with my car which is rare because a lot of other mechanics tried to take advantage since I’m a woman and think I don’t know about cars.
