Today, Salem Towing came out to my home to place a new battery in my car because the one that they placed in it less than one year ago is no longer any good. The battery test performed on 2/19/25 reads "bad & replace." The service technician that arrived at my home today is the rudest person I have ever encountered in business. He arrived with a bad attitude and it got even worse to the point that I had to have him leave my yard without the battery even being replaced. I would. never recommend Salem Towing to anybody!

My Father has AAA, he broke down on the side of the road and this towing company picked up the tow. We sat there for almost 2 hours. This company sent us notifications on how far away they were. When they got to us on the interstate they drove right past us and kept going. When AAA tried contacting them to see what happened they didn’t answer the phone. Do not recommend!
My car overheated on I-40 yesterday and I called AAA. Within the hour Raphael showed up and was a godsend. I am in my mid 70's with a bad back and leg and could not get into the tow truck. Raphael boosted me up in the passenger seat. He reviewed three different places he could take me. When we got to one, he went in with me and did not leave until he was assured they could help me. When he left we exchanged a big hug. I could not have asked for a better or nicer "rescuer". I felt very fortunate to have met Raphael. Thank you Salem towing!!!
The wait for service was short. Rafael was courteous and very careful with my vehicle, taking his time to angle the tow vehicle to minimize damage to my car. The quality of service was remarkable. Highly recommended.
Terrible experience! Called AAA and they sent Salem Towing. My son wrecked and they came out - needed flat bed to move truck and said they would send one in 15-20 minutes- never showed up! never called! I did send the original driver a text asking what was going on - he read it and ignored! I called AAA and it looked like the call was complete ! Absolutely ridiculous! Horrible customer service !
Called AAA and Salem Towing was sent out to us. They let us know when they were on the way and about how long it would take to get here. We met a wonderful employee named Richard. Couldn’t ask for a nicer young man to help us with our truck’s dead battery. He had a replacement battery with him and was able to service our truck. No need to get it jumped and then wait for hours at a service station. Richard, you made 2 old people happy to have a running vehicle again. Thank you.
Horrendous. Called AAA for a tow - they subcontracted to Salem Towing. They text me that Salem will arrive at 10:26am. I have my wife set to arrive at 10am to location. Another text arrives at 9:45am that driver will now arrive at 9:50am. My wife arrives at 9:56am. Driver Nelson Rivera begins screaming at her that she is late, and how dare she, and he doesn't have to take this! She says that she is not late to the original scheduled time - he begins cursing and screaming, then steps at her aggressively to physically intimidate her. He then jumps in his truck and peels out of the parking lot. I called Salem twice to give them a chance to explain and address him, they don't ever bother calling me back. This driver is an angry menace, who thinks its ok to "step up" to a small female customer. NEVER do business with these horrible people, who do not care at all and think its ok to act menacingly toward women. I would give zero stars if it were possible. UPDATE: See the pathetic response below - the apartment manager was there and saw the whole thing - Nelson was screaming from the moment he left his truck. Your employee is unstable, and you refuse to act. I hope this is used as evidence against you one day when he hurts someone.
I did not use this business, however they did come up behind me and passed me in a no passing zone at a very high rate of speed. Then proceeded to do this to another car. While they attempted to pass they almost hit a car on opposite side of the road - very careless for others safety! Watch out for this guy!
Update to owner’s reply: First and foremost, I’m so sorry to hear there was an emergency and sincerely hope that everyone is ok. Thank you for clarifying the reason. I would like to clarify my post was not slander or bashing, it was factual and accurate. Slander is providing false information which was not the case. Yes, the internet is an option/platform to provide feedback these days and has been for some time. I was clear that I have never used your actual service; however, at the end of the day this was a representation of your company and there was almost more than one emergency that day.
Contacted AAA for battery replacement service advised them of year, make and model of my vehicle so that they could have the proper battery available when servicing my call. I had been that the battery was marginal when my vehicle had it's NC State Inspection and it finally quit on 12/24/25022, failed top start vehicle. Servicing vehicle arrived from Salem Towing. The technician that arrived, Jamie, opened the door of my car and stated "The reason my car wouldn't start was that I had left the headlights on therefore killing the battery. I tried to explain to the gentleman that my vehicle had automatic headlights that shut themselves off. He argued that he had been doing this for a long time and knew what he was talking about. I tried to explain that as a retired automotive service manager with over 45 years of experience and the owner of the vehicle; I was also knowledge about this situation. At this point Jamie picked up his testing device, whiteout doing any diagnostic testing and proceeded to leave without assisting me in any manner. I have never experienced such a rude, arrogant, unhelpful individual in my life. I will not let this rest and intend to inform AAA of this completely unacceptable treatment.
Although this is not directly my own experience, I had the absolute pleasure of witnessing a Salem Towing employee assisting an elderly lady to her car with such care and gentleness. It appeared that her car had broken down and she called AAA. I just wanted to shout out this individual not only because of his willingness to help in his line of work, but because anyone could see (from afar) that this person cared deeply for this elderly woman and wanted to see her to safety. It warmed my heart!!!
Guy calls your AAA membership and tells them you threatened him just to mess up your membership. Be careful dealing with this company they seem pretty douchey
Really great service. Towed van with no issues and when dropping vehicle off at dealership. Filled out all paper work to make sure they knew who the keys belonged too. Truly went the extra mile.
I didn't know AAA didn't tow cars with out of date tags and you have to pay a fee in order for them to tow it. I needed my car towed to AAA from my home in order to get a state inspection. Rafael Diaz and his associate came to get it and I was charged a fee, that didn't send me into bankruptcy. I want to thank you very much Rafael for your professionalism and being very nice. If I ever get stranded somewhere I'm not calling AAA because I might not get Salem towing, I'm calling Salem towing directly.
I can't say enough good things about this company. We live over 200 miles away from where the car that we needed towed is located. I googled towing services in the Winston Salem area. Raphael was very professional and easy to work with over the phone. He took care of everything and made us feel completely at ease. I appreciate finding this company and the good job they did for us. I highly recommend them.
This Was The Worst Tow Company Ever! My Service Driver Was Nick, He Took Apart The Inside Of My Car In An Attempt To Have It Towed From AAA, He Drove Off Without Saying A Word, We Were Sitting In The Car Waiting & Realized He Had Pulled Off. I Would Not Reccomend This Company To My Worst Enemy.
