I was in a jam with my keys in the trunk and no spare. I had food for my dinners and milk and I had been there for a bit. I was literally on the curb crying and this nice called her husband from chandler and he was there within minutes and in less than a minute my car was open and I was on my way. These people here and so kind and helpful. They saved my whole day. 100% recommend to go here

Ticketing and towing. They absolutely descriminate against certainly individuals. It’s wrong and they should be held accountable, but who do you complain to that would actually listen and do anything about it.

Do yourself a favor and save money by getting your car serviced elsewhere. Poor service, horrible customer service experience.

I understand why they towed me I was at fault but they overprice it….. It’s ridiculous they just want to take your money not even that when I went my car was still attached to the towing truck when it was removed they dropped my car not even carefully I recently got my car out the shop to get it fix….. and the man that had my car was not professional at all. Beware of Chandlers towing.

Myself and friends went walking at the Duke Wall not seeing the signs at Whole Foods about towing. We were okay, like we did not see the signs….cool….but when we saw about six group of white people walking to their cars from just walking the Duke Wall as well, we was like now wait a minute. Everyone car that was towed was BLACK. We did ask one of the Chandler Towing drivers and he said “most black people have fwd while most white people have awd so we get what’s easy”……that don’t seem racist to you, he said no. Not only do you have someone in the Whole Foods parking lot WATCHING people as they get out their cars, but if they are BLACK that’s a EASY TOW while charging everyone different prices to get their cars back. This company is RACIST and are PREDATORY.

If you’re looking for a company that profits off stress, misery, and technicalities, you’ve found it. They didn’t just take my car — they took hours of my life, a chunk of my paycheck, and any shred of trust I had in my apartment complex’s parking rules. The so-called “violation” was a joke. The photos they provided were framed carefully to make it look like I was in the wrong, but in reality, my car was within the lines. Instead of being fair, they chose the fastest way to squeeze money out of me. They towed my vehicle from my HOME at 3 am on a Tuesday, who does that?! The staff acted as if they were doing me a favor by lowering the cost…. it clear it was because they wanted to pacify me and had no solid evidence — it’s about making a quick buck. The whole experience felt like legalized theft dressed up as “policy.” They held my vehicle hostage after stealing it, and I had to pay a ransom. Save yourself the headache: take photos every time you park, because companies like this thrive on people being too tired, too stressed, or too broke to fight back. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Tow truck drivers might think they’re just “doing their job,” but this company’s business model is predatory, plain and simple.

Chandler's is a great asset to the Durham community. From the moment you walk in you feel like a family member and they treat you with kindness and respect. They're fast, efficient, and friendly.

Chandler’s Towing engages in predatory and unlawful practices. On Sunday, September 29, my husband’s car was parked directly in front of our rented garage at our apartment complex. Despite being parked legally, Chandler’s Towing hooked up his car in an attempt to tow it. The tow truck driver falsely claimed that residents are not allowed to park in front of garages and must park inside, which is not true. We specifically rent our garage space for the purpose of parking. He then changed his reasoning, stating the cars parked impeding traffic were to be towed. This was also false—our car was not blocking traffic in any way. The driver further claimed the property manager stated that there is no parking in front of garages. However, the next day, our property manager confirmed that Chandler’s statements were untrue and that residents are allowed to park in front of their garages. To make matters worse, other cars parked in front of their garages, a few spaces down, were not targeted or towed. We were forced to pay $150 to have the car released on the spot. Our apartment complex has since agreed to reimburse us, acknowledging Chandler’s wrongdoing. I believe our vehicle was unfairly targeted because it is an older work car with cosmetic damage, even though its registration and inspection are fully up to date. Chandler’s Towing acted illegally by attempting to tow our car without cause, using deception and selective enforcement. I will be filing a formal complaint against them for their predatory and unlawful practices.

As a business owner myself I understand you have to do what you have to do sometimes especially in this line of work. However maintaining professionalism is extremely important to any business and disrespect is not okay when people are spending money towards your business. The gentlemen with braces had probably one of the worst attitudes I’ve encountered. Using profanity and speaking to customers like that is never okay. There are plenty of small towing businesses in the area with a reputable business and people who don’t cuss at you I would advise to choose one of those businesses instead.

I will guess 90% of the positive reviews are coming from people like Foundry Commercial who own much of these parking lots they tow off. The truth is they are predatory. Whole Foods in Durham 08/12/2025. If you eat at Whole Foods and walk across the street or leave the property at all for a few minutes they will tow you. Happened to me and as I waited for my uber to go get my towed care I saw tow truck pull up and tow a car from a guy who just left. Thing is I came back went to Sushi place to meet someone and did not notice it was towed till I came out. Driver is too quick and they are aggressive. He said he had security watching. Please show the proof. I have a receipt and a witness. $265 cash or debit. Predatory step off the property and they are on you. Just wondering if I had come back before he hooked up what would have happened? Next time I will be watching. I go to Whole Foods on a regular basis and sushi place as well, like 5 times a week. Please google them they have had several complaints one involving the local news. Yelp, Road Trippers. What we need to do is contact some of the companies who hire them. Which I will be doing.

I called this morning to inquire about why my car was towed from 630 E Knox in the visitors section. They advised me, they need a visitor pass to park in visitors parking that’s it part of the lease but that’s not true. Such a scamming company

We just hired this company to tow at our property in raleigh and the person who answered the phone and sent our contract over is so friendly!! Having previous experience with these drivers and the owner himself, I trust chandlers entirely! The owner runs a tight ship and hires quality people with strict vetting. On the note of the people using reviews to complain: if you dont want to be towed do not park incorrectly, that simple. I've been towed by an impound company before and I will openly admit it was my own fault, not the towing company's.... these guys have a difficult job enough and dont need people giving them issues. Let the drivers do their jobs, dont park like an idiot, keep your tags current(as outlined in nc law), and dont be rude to them. Just admit you were wrong and pay the drop fee or impound fee, again that simple. Private property owners can and will legally tow for things that are clearly outlined in your lease that you signed for... Keep up the great work Chandler, stay safe, and happy hunting!

If I could give less stars I would! This place scams people and has terrible customer service. This company wrongfully towed my vehicle while I was staying over with a friend. The very rude and hostile receptionist tried to argue with me saying my tags are expired & that who I was visiting should have told me about the rules when how do they apply to someone who’s just visiting and is properly parked in a VISITORS PARKING SPOT! I’m very confused as to why MY TAGS would be the complex or Chandlers business? I feel as if this place or drivers do whatever they want just to get the money. I’ve also been confused as to why I see some people only pay $180 to get their car the same day but others are charged $210? I’m honestly looking into further actions to see about being reimbursed and would love for this place to be closed for good!

This place is terrible! Yesterday, as my daughter was getting ready for work, she noticed her truck was gone! Initially, we thought it was stolen, but after calling our leasing office at our apartment complex, we were told to try contacting Chandler's Towing. Sure enough, when we did, they were the ones that towed her! They towed her vehicle at 1:42 a.m. Who does predatory towing at those hours in the morning?!? This company is unprofessional. Mind you, my daughter doesn't work on Mondays and rarely goes anywhere and wasn't notified by the company they towed it! They charged $180 for the towing and $70 for 2 days in towing storage. Her vehicle wasn't even there a full 2 days! No notification of tow. Then when I went to pay using my credit card, they said payment had to be debit card. When I asked why, they said DMV doesn't permit it in the event a customer disputes the bill. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

We had a great experience at Chandler's today! I just want to thank Donovan for taking care of me. I was there for 10 mins getting an inspection. Quick service, will be back !

Just happened to look at my receipt as I was looking though old papers. This company had came to tow my car one night at 11:56pm and I went to pick it up by 8:28 in the morning. The receipt says they charged me for 2 days of towing. Smh they said I didn’t have a parking pass but the pass was right there on the floor because it fell off of my mirror without me knowing because it was torn. Probably too late to say anything but these people are horrible and just out to hurt you. Also the receipt barely makes any sense. The quantity says 2 for the “storage fee” of 70 dollars. Then the next line says 180 dollars for “no permit”. This sucks a lot and makes no sense but GOD deals with people.

Updating my review to 5 stars. Spoke with Brad in management who offered a sincere apology. He shared that Melissa is with a 3rd party dispatcher that they are trying out. I appreciate the sincere concern and follow up. I believe him when he says customer service is important. ‐‐‐-------------------------------- Called to report a vehicle be moved. Spoke with Melissa who was incredibly rude. Would not allow me to ask questions on why 'management needed to call' when I own my home. She didn't even get my address before she said that. When I told her I was going to report her, she said 'go right ahead'. I'm guessing customer service is not a thing for this group.

Parked across from Whole Foods to get a drink and then walked to Mad Hatter WITHIN the same parking lot to eat breakfasts when I got out my car was towed and had to pay 200 dollars to get it back. Do not do business with them. They’re a predatory company that doesn’t follow their own rules.

Came out of Whole Foods on broad st to see a tow truck next to my car. I was inside for 20 mins! When I asked for authorization or towing permit they didn’t even have anything to show. They started to take my care until I gave them a ‘drop fee’. Highly predatory towing company…

I was leaving Whole Foods at the Duke campus when I saw a tow truck near my car. I didn’t think it was for me since I had parked in the Whole Foods lot and made a purchase—but it was lol. They lifted my car within seconds, so that when I ran over, they could tell me I had to pay $150 to drop it. When I questioned the fee, they simply pointed to their T-shirts (with the logo) as proof of legitimacy. An acquaintance saw the whole thing and came over to question something similar. They said word-for-word to him “you are next.” Obviously I eventually paid. Afterward, I walked around to check the name of their company, and the driver immediately came around to take a photo of my license plate. When I asked why, they vaguely said it was for “uh, computer records.” I give up on the $150, but I’d appreciate confirmation that the photo is actually for official records—otherwise, a random person now has my license plate info. What raised further concern is that when I stayed in the lot for another 20 minutes, they came back to tow another car and didn’t take a photo that time. It definitely felt off, like a commission-driven operation.

Good company just doing their job. Very kind and professional. Getting towed sucks but it’s definitely motivation to follow the rules.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the outstanding service at Chandler's Towing and Auto & Tire Center in Durham, and I can't sing their praises enough! When my car was towed due to expired tags, they promptly handled the situation, and what followed exceeded all my expectations. Not only did they tow my vehicle with care, but the team, particularly Donovan, took the time to thoroughly inspect it, ensuring that I was well-informed and safe to get back on the road. Their commitment to customer safety and satisfaction is truly commendable. I felt genuinely cared for, as Donovan provided clear, honest advice about additional repairs I was curious about. It’s clear that they prioritize integrity over sales, which is a rarity in this industry. The gentlemen at Chandler's were not only professional but also incredibly friendly, making a stressful situation much more bearable. Donovan's warm demeanor and willingness to help went above and beyond. If you're ever in need of towing or auto repairs, I wholeheartedly recommend Chandler's Towing and Auto & Tire Center. They have earned my trust and loyalty, and I can confidently say that they are the best in the business! Thank you, Chandler's, and especially Donovan, for your exceptional service!

Walked out to my car being towed to which the driver said if I had cash he would be able to unhook my car and leave. When I said I didn't have cash and would have to pay at the lot, I followed him over and proceeded to pay using my debit card on a card reader IN A TRUCK. When I asked him why I couldn't use this earlier, he said it can only be used in the lot. That is the definition of a shakedown and this predatory company needs to be reported immediately. There's also nobody in the office anyway so you have to wait for a driver to get there. I've never seen such poor business practices.

I understand that this towing company is just following orders of others' more stringent rules, but I caught their employee while he was in the process of hooking up my car that was parked directly in front of my house, and he was rude, predatory, and until he got his cash, he continued to play with his buttons in his truck to make moves to take my car (and ultimately damaging property). Conveniently does not carry change when he only accepts debit or cash.

I wish we have an option to give 0 rating. I parked the car in Whole Foods parking lot in Durham and crossed the road to pick my family (with new born) who were already walking from sometime. Thought I will pick my new born and then go to Whole Foods for shopping. In that gap, they got ready to tow. They didn’t unlock the car until I paid 150$ . Tried to explain to the so called manager and looks like he don’t care at all. Very Disappointing.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. I found a note on my car while parked in my normal apartment spot that I could not read and no number to contact. Since I couldn’t read the note I wasn’t sure what it was in reference to or if I should take it seriously as was just a scribbled handwritten note without any business info. My car was towed a few days later, when i found out it was towed by Chandler’s they said a note was left on my car for “dead tags”. I explained the situation and showed them the note in person, they agreed it was illegible with no contact number but would not return my car to me without me paying even though there was no way to address it beforehand. They had zero understanding or sympathy. I am a student and don’t make much, but nobody today has an extra $300 to for doing everyday life things like parking in the correct spot where you live.

I never write negative reviews but I had to make an exception here. This organization is the most awful, predatory, despicable group I have ever dealt with! Both my cars were towed (in the dark of night) because they were parked in what they said was unauthorized space. The spaces in question were in front of my apartment building where I and my fellow tenants have been parking in the year and a half I have lived here. Plus, they towed them the DAY BEFORE a warning went out from the apartment complex (Cortland Briar Creek) explaining that the spots between the white lines and the curb (again, where we parked for over a year) is unauthorized and will be subject to towing. So I never had a chance to respond by moving my car because Chandler took it upon themselves to tow earlier than “…the apartment complex asked them to…” according to the phone conversation between the lot attendant and the main office. They still charged me $215 per car ($430 total) and said “there’s nothing they could do”! Then when I showed proof they towed me a day before the notice went out, AND my apartment complex (Cortland at Briar Creek) decided to do the right thing and call them, they gave me my money back. Saying “You got lucky we towed it too early!” But I was still out $30 for an Uber and missing 1/2 a day’s work! And now, it seems they are not towing anyone from those spots, which leads me to believe it is predatory just to get some cash (because they told me to bring cash to get my cars out of impound because their “card reader wasn’t working!”) when they need it! I wish someone could do something about this horrible practice and the horrible people who profit from it.

I had some company over for a couple days . I Notified my Complex that I had guest so they put my guest on the DO NOT TOW LIST . My complex did not tell me I had 30 DAYS . So she was 1 day out of our 30 Days . They sat in my complex for about 20 minutes. I got home from work and I saw the tow company. I just knew something was up. So I went to go to her car and stand by her car and they pulled off . I went in my house for NO MORE THAN 5 mins and they came back and took it . I called and ask them to at least cut the price down Considering it was just a day past . And they had an Attitude and said cash or debit to credit and hung up

I just want to give Felix and his team a shout out. I have a mustang that I hadn't driven in roughly 3 years. I was on the verge if selling it due to some issues it was having. I decided to take it to their shop and explained everything I knew was wrong with the car. They somehow managed to make my car drivable on a regular basis and it's been 4 months and I've had ZERO problems with my car. I'm so glad I held on to my car and very grateful to his team for bringing my baby back to life.... they even went out of their way to spruce it up before picking her up. THANK YOU FELIX AND TEAM!!!
