Have not been to the winery yet, though friends have raved about it. I can only attest to the wines, which of course are more important. My husband and I run the Myrtle Beach Chapter of the American Wine Society. Kerry Darnell, the owner of Shooting Creek, presented his wines in a tasting last week. I'm partial to the Bordeaux style blends like the two 'redheads', the 2019 being my fave. This Cabernet-Syrah-Merlot blend is superb. It would be great on a cold night by the fireplace as well as on a Summer night when the sun's going down and you're listening to a great live music on the patio. Cheers!
Wine was excellent. Music was great. Nestled in a valley of autumn colored leaves. Lots of space to talk to your neighboring table or walk down the creek to a grouping of Adirondack chairs. Really delightful!
Absolutely a must-visit winery! The wine was outstanding, and the atmosphere was both beautiful and uniquely charming. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We came with a larger group, including kids, and they made us feel right at home. There's even a small creek and a cozy fire pit area—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. Highly recommend!
What a beautiful spot to have some wine, enjoy the incredible scenery, and listen to some great live music. Everything about this place is awesome. The building and deck, the grounds, vineyards, moutain backdrop and the flowing creek. The wine is not too bad either! The owner and staff are friendly, helpful, and Informative. If you haven't been here you're missing out. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
Shooting Creek Vines has delicious wines - the red blend is a splendid drink that is both well-balanced and refreshing. Can’t wait to try the cab next!
A beautiful setting but unfortunately the wines are...not good.
I can appreciate the effort it takes to produce wine but North Carolina cannot pull that off. It's just not possible given the climate, soil, and other factors.
Great friendly service with great tasting Cabernet Sauvignon, which is my personal favorite. Relaxing creek to listen to while enjoying your wine or beer which my husband enjoyed. Will definitely be back!!

Chill and cozy, but understatedly sophisticated, hangout spot right off a main road, with a spacious patio that sits behind a vineyard and next to a babbling brook.
When we visited recently (a year after opening) there were approximately 6 wines on tap, with other beverages, charcuterie and miscellaneous snacks on offer.
The Traminette and Syrah were memorable standouts.
If you're within an hour or two, definitely stop by.
We found this winery by accident and loved it so much!! Perfect ambiance, live music on the weekends and good wine (also excellent cheese & crackers)!! Also very personable and interesting owners.
I’ve lived in Hayesville for almost 4 years now and have been to every winery within a 50 mile radius. This is the BEST winery hands down! No other winery has truly good wines, but Shooting Creek will not disappoint you! For those who don’t like wine, they offer beer and other libations. BEAUTIFUL a setting with an incredible creek and mountains to view. The owner and staff are the real deal. Could not have had a better experience!
This place is absolutely lovely! The tasting room is beautifully decorated with so many windows, you feel like you are outside. It was rather warm so we stayed in, but the patio and the property is serene and cozy. I cannot wait until the weather cools so I can return and sit by one of the firepits that border the stream. The wine was excellent! I am a red wine person, and they did not have one that I did not like. This is an out of the way hidden gem!
We stopped by on our way home to Asheville and had a great experience. The vineyard is beautiful, with nice mountain views and a stream running through the property. We ordered a bottle of Syrah and it was excellent. The staff was very friendly and we had a nice conversation with the owner as well. We will be back.
What a beautiful setting to enjoy a glass of vino! The owners are very kind and happy to tell you about the vineyard and answer any questions you may have about their wines. We love that Shooting Creek offers unique wines to the area, they are non-sweet varieties unlike what you would normally find around. Our favorite has been the Syrah, such an interesting flavor and well worth it! Of course, it doesn't hurt to sample all of them. I can't wait for our next visit - I will certainly be bringing several bottles home with me.
Love this vineyard!!! The reds (merlot is my fav!!! A lot like a Pinot noir!) are amazing, the location is beautiful and peaceful and it is a great experience 100% recommend!!!!
We visited Shooting Creek Vines on our Wineries Tour this weekend - what a gem! Fabulous & wonderful facility, quaint, charming, great selection of wines, plus hosts were engaging, knowledgeable and wonderful. Highly recommend!
Fabulous wines and a wonderful Vineyard experience! We sat on their tasting room deck, listening to the babbling brook 20 feet away and had an absolutely wonderful day!
I tasted a flight of the Reds and ordered a couple more glasses after that. My wife tasted a flight of the whites and particularly enjoyed the Chardonnay. The staff was super, friendly and very helpful. The owners were accessible, answered any questions we had and made recommendations. At the end of the day, we picked up a few bottles to go to enjoy at home. If you get the chance, go, enjoy the views and some great wine.
There are motels and AirBnBs in the area that made it easy for us to enjoy the vineyards and stay the night.
Hangout next to a rapid creek on a covered deck while enjoying 8 different wines. The Mountain View is pretty spectacular too. Looking forward to the live music nights! I even experienced Traminette for the first time. Extremely unique flavor with apricot, honeysuckle and spice.
This winery was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary!
Hospitable, picturesque, and delicious wine.
The Chardonnay was so good, but the Cabernet may just be the best cab I’ve had in a long time.

Beautiful setting with knowledgeable staff serving the wine. The owner checked in on us numerous times and was invested in making our experience great. Delicious wines that did not disappoint and they offer snacks and beer as well.
