Thoroughly enjoyed this course today. Gary in the pro shop was great and very accommodating. They did have temporary greens on a few holes but cold weather golf, you get what you get. Lots of character and challenging too. Will def be back.
If I could give this course less than a 1 star, I would! Was allowed only to play on the back nine due to a tournament on the front nine, which was understandable and not a problem. But then we were told the back nine had temporary greens. We asked for a discount considering and we were denied. That should have been our cue to leave but we gave it a chance. Absolutely horrible conditions on every single hole! Because of the temporary greens, some holes were within pitching distant from the T-off box. Will never waste my money here again!
Played here while on vacation, and it will be the last. We were very surprised to find out after we showed up for our tee time, that the back 9 was closed. Their social media does say about significant course maintenance and reconstruction, however, it doesn’t specify that HALF of the course is closed. Aside from the back 9 being closed, the course was just pitiful. We were excited to actually play a decent round of “vacation golf”, and we were left extremely disappointed. There was a woman working the pro shop, didn’t catch her name, however she seemed nice. And the ranger we spoke to on hole 1 was also nice. The staff seems to be the only redeeming quality. We should have read the reviews!
Course was in the worst condition, of any course I have ever played. They stated back nine. Was under repair so you had to play the front line twice. However, the front line was worse than a cow pasture. It looked like an abandoned golf course. The sand traps were filled with weeds. It was quite obvious to grass and not been cut in quite a while fairways were overgrown, and the greens were cut very long and difficult to put on. I would not recommend this course for anybody who enjoys this game
Do not go here. Slow play and course was awful. Greens are dirt with no grass. Tee boxes were sand with no grass. And fairways were not great either .They do not take care of course. Not worth any amount of money. Would give it 0 stars if it was an option.
I am on vacation and wanted a place to go play and saw this place was a tad cheaper than everywhere else around at 60 dollars. Once we got on the course I quickly saw why. The tee boxes are horribly kept, a majority of them were completely sand, the fairways were all scalped and had many dead places, the greens were just dirt and sand, hardly any grass on any of them, and lastly the bunkers were slam full of weeds and grass. The worst course I’ve ever played, charging 60 dollars for this is awful, I’m not even sure I would pay 15. There is always an available tee time and I can see why, whatever you do please don’t go here, take your time elsewhere.

What a Joke! They never disclosed the condition of their course, charged full greens fee for me and my son and didn’t make any attempt at making this right after talking to the club pro who said it was ‘out of his control’. SAVE YOUR Money Folks…..
The staff are phenomenal however we played on 7/12 and the course is not in good shape. The tee boxes are terrible and some have ankle deep grass. It is definitely not worth the price being charged.
Played this course today and was charged $60 for the round to play the absolute worst course I’ve ever played. I live in the area full time so not a visitor. The greens were in disgusting shape along with the rest of the course. The bunkers were full of grass, fairways were trash, no water jugs and the the T-boxes mm mm mm. I was embarrassed and can’t believe I invited 3 other players from Taberna Golf ⛳️ Club to play there. I will not play there again.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would, coming from a guy that is nowhere near a “course snob.” The course is in absolutely horrible condition. Every single green is unplayable except for 9 and 18 (guessing they keep those decent just because they’re close enough to see from the clubhouse). The fact that they’re charging $60 with the shape that the course is in is absolutely ridiculous. Please drive out to New Bern or Beaufort and spend your money on a decent course (especially if you’re a tourist visiting for the weekend, I promise you there are much better options in New Bern).
I've been playing this course for about 6 years, every year I'm hopeful that it'll be in better shape. This is hands down the worse condition I've ever seen for a golf course. I've played cow pasture golf that was in better condition. They should at least warn you and give a highly discounted rate to play. Literally 13 of the 18 greens were completely dead, not dry....dead. They will blame this on the heat, but there's other courses within 30 mins that have bent grass (cool season) greens that are still green.

i really like playing here, but the current green conditions are not acceptable for charging 60$. most of the back nine greens are currently 100% dirt and burnt grass. something needs to change for me to return to this course.
Way overpriced for a course with such poor maintenance. Greens were mostly dirt and sand and extremely patchy. Fairways were overgrown in lost spots and tee boxes were more sand than grass on most holes. Wouldn’t play again for $60
This is a place where you need to stay away from . The manager is a jerk, he is aggressive and thinks he owns it all. I would advise anyone to please go play somewhere else. Go have fun at other golf courses. They need to replace him !
Quite honestly the worst course we’ve seen in a long long time. $55 to play . Greens were tore up, no sand in the bunkers, fairways were all tall weeds, tee boxes were god awful as well. Criminal that they take people’s money right now. Avoid this course .
This place needs to shut down. **AVOID AT ALL COSTS**.

$64.00 per person for 1 full round AND if your wife or someone wants to go with you, they charge an extra $10.00 for a "Ride Along Fee, Due to insurance reasons." (This is the only course that does this in the area)
Staff was nice, pro shop was barely stocked with drinks or snack items, the grill was also closed.
The greens were in absolute horrid condition. The fairways were full of weeds and dirt spots. Only about 40% of the course had a paved cart path; even then they were torn up. Ugly swampy scenery, torn down trees and large cleared dirt areas right by the fairways.
The cart I had (#44) had a transmission issue that didn't arise until about hole 10. I could feel it slipping gear and it was unable to produce any power to the wheels.
They charge a premium price point for a poor experience, where is that money going? I've played 10x better courses for a fraction of this price.
The operations department needs to take a season or two off and completely restore this course, and re-evaluate the competition that surrounds them. If you're going to charge the most in the area, you have to have something the rest doesnt have.

Writing this review from my dad: The tee boxes, the fairway and the greens were all in good shape. The staff were friendly and no problem making a tee time. I would return and recommend this course.
Charging 65$ to play a goat track just because it's at the beach is ridiculous. The course is for sale and it shows. Very poor maintenance on fairways and greens. No food options just candy bars and crackers. Tee boxes or beat to death and unlevel. Fairways have weeds a foot and half tall. 5 of the greens have dead spots with not even an attempt to repair. I will not go into the staff. I'm sure they are as depressed about having to work at this place much less the amount of complaints they must hear. Ohhhhhh lest I forget the Golf Mafia and their back to back 5somes. I wouldn't recommend spending your money here. You can Play Star Hill for the same money and have a much better experience.
Insane how awful the condition some of the greens were in, the worst I’ve seen on any legitimate golf course. Weeds cover the fairway and the rough is impossible to distinguish. Half of the holes have been shifted around and they can’t even be given the time of day to switch the numbers around. It looks like these issues (especially the greens which should’ve been fixed asap) have been prevalent for years. Incredibly overpriced for a course that should be 35$ maximum.
I had played Brandywine Bay a year or two ago and it was in pretty good condition. What a difference a little time makes !
Overall, I thought that the course was in fair to poor condition.
The driving range is nothing but a field and the "teeing area" has so many weeds it was difficult to find a reasonable piece of grass to hit balls from. It apparently had not been mowed in some time. That should have been our first clue.
The tee boxes were generally "adequate"; however, the "fairways" were indistinguishable and covered with weeds. On many holes, one could not even define the fairway boundaries.
The bunkers were mostly hard pan and in fair to poor condition.
I found the greens to be slow but the bigger issue were the numerous areas of dirt and diseased turf on many greens, especially on the back nine. Several greens on the back nine had large areas where one had to move their ball simply to putt. Overall, I would say the greens were a "1" on a 1 to 10 scale.
Enough said. This course should be CLOSED and anyone who pays $64.00 to play here should simply throw their money in the Atlantic Ocean. You'd feel better by doing so.
My friend and I enjoyed a cold beer after we finished and both said we were glad that we would never come back here again.
It's that bad a course.
Really disappointed. Thought for $65 and a "country club" designation, this would be a great course. Wrong! I have paid much less for fascinating public courses. You could not decipher the fairway from the rough on many of the holes. There was no fringe around the greens. Oh and for the greens.....picture below tells that story. You may need to upgrade your mowers as well or at least make sure they don't leave the clippings on the greens and that they actually cut even. #notmycourse!
Greens went from very slow and bumpy to pretty slick within the same round. It seems like they’re not rolling them before folks start playing. Most of the dead spots are gone but it made for a very difficult round for me and the others. They shouldn’t be charging full price or at least forewarn people about it. Other than that, it’s a decent course

It’s looking a little better than last time. See pics of the 1st(mowed to short) 4th(dead spots) green and pin hole(all 9 were like this. The 4th green is always having this issue but it’s doing better and this has been the best it’s looked in a long time. Didn’t make it last 9 due to weather). The pins haven’t been moved in a at least a week. The greens weren’t to bad, just mowed this morning.
AVOID. Pay more for something actually worth it!
Started on the back 9 and I was very surprised for the green fee I expected a much better course. We decided to try for a refund after 9 and they wouldn’t go for it. After doing the back we were backed up 3 groups. Every hole was old and needed to be recut. The collars were budding, and greens had giant dead spots.
For a weekend the kitchen was closed and the manager wasn’t there!?

Pick another place to play. Don't waste your time and get frustrated with the course all day. Do they have a ground crew? Who knows. Pro shop guy was saying they needed heat for the Bermuda grass. Meanwhile I work grounds on a course in central VA and our fairways are perfect right now... all Bermuda and we charge 40 for 18...
Played 9 and wanted a refund for the last 9 and they would not give it. My advice is to pay for the first 9 so you can save the rest when you want to leave.
Big rip off.

Worst course I’ve played at. They charge you $50 to play on these greens??? (See pictures) They need to let you know the course conditions are bad. Not only is the course terrible, they only have 3 beer options in the pro shop. Worst golf experience I’ve had in years. DONT PLAY HERE
Friendly staff, mobile snack and drink cart is cool as well! Haven't been golfing for a long time, very impressed with the service and the technology in the carts to show the course layouts and yardages. You can even request the aforementioned snack cart to come to your location!
