This towing company is the best! They answered the phone in the late hours , on a holiday weekend, and went to rescue our daughter’s car. From Glens customer service to the repair with Tire Warehouse- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I run a small business that does deliveries upstate. One of our trucks broke down on the freeway and police called Glen’s Towing to remove it.
The tow distance was LESS than half a mile, yet we were charged $850 + tax (around $950 total).
When we asked why it was so expensive, the driver first claimed that it was because it "needed to be towed within 10 minutes" since it was blocking the road (therefore the higher price range). This was already absurd to hear and we questioned it but then they said its because “the police set the prices.” This we could understand until we called the police department to confirm, and they told us they do NOT set towing rates — the towing company does. Of course, we were confused.
We then requested an itemized invoice (a basic request for ANY business, especially for accounting). The driver refused, said we were “being difficult,” and then accused my staff of potential credit card fraud… He then REFUSED to accept card payment over the phone WHILE we were actively trying to understand and resolve the situation.
We were told we had NO CHOICE BUT to pay CASH or IN PERSON simply because we were asking questions and wanted clarification. We even offered to call their company directly since they claimed they “don’t control the prices” and “don’t know any more info” beyond towing the vehicle. Instead of waiting for us to get off the phone with their company, the driver rudely proceeded to tow the truck to their lot and told us to figure it out there, leaving us with no choice but to deal with them in person.
To be clear: we never refused to pay. I know I have to pay. You already towed the vehicle and I need it back. I just want to know what i'm paying for like anybody else. Again, we simply wanted transparency on a nearly $1,000 charge for a tow under 0.5 miles and a proper invoice.
Again, extremely rude tow truck driver, that made it feel like we were being forced into paying without explanation. Would avoid especially considering how Elmsford police outted them as also the same owners or partners with Alex's Towing which has a 1.1 star review on Yelp. Whats that saying? Bird of a feather, flock together
ALSO: if we were going to commit credit card fraud, do you think my staff would have spent that time on call asking you for more information? why would they waste their time trying to talk to you when they could have given you the credit card info THEN AND THERE and then back charged it... But no, YOU GUYS were the one who even brought up that idea and accused us of fraud while we were simply trying to understand and resolve the situation. How you going to ask someone to pay for something that they dont know what theyre paying for. I know sure as hell you wouldnt if you got a bill you didnt understand
I have photos and videos of cars illegally parked in front of my house for over 12 hours with the Glens Towing sign in front. The manager refused to provide an email where I can send these photos to. I said it is unacceptable for these cars to be parked ILLEGALLY for over 12 hours she said “I don’t care I’m hanging up”. I hung up and called back to ask for an email address where I can send these photos to and she said “stop calling us” and hung up.
Just had an issue with my car, called my insurance and was told 2 hours. Waited five. Canceled and called these guys and was quoted about 20 min. Showed up on time and where super quick and professional. Would 100 percent use this company again.
We had a challenging tow involving a lot of moving parts. Glen and Christina immediately evaluated the situation. The outcome exceeded our expectations. If any family or friends need towing, we would not hesitate to recommend them.
Today my experience with the owner was VERY POOR. Although, I am happy that she allowed my son to get his belongings out the car because she did not have too. However, her customer service was Rude, Disrespectful, Distasteful and a felt that it was a color barrier as to why she handled us like that. She first stated "Wow you brought a crew" which I thought was rude. She had us stand outside instead of doing business inside, and handed him papers to sign. As I said to her "You need to be a little nicer", she told me "Don't tell her how to do her job" and slammed the door in our face. When you're dealing with the public, regardless of YOU or WHOMEVER being the owner, YOU should NEVER be nasty to a customer or anyone for that matter. Yes, she may be the Business Owner, but you still should show and have a level of RESPECT. ESPECIALLY when dealing with the public and RESPECT is being given to YOU.
Best service around. They went out of their way to order and replace a tire they didn’t have in stock same day within one hour. I wish there were 6 stars.
Awful service- I have never left a lengthy negative Google review for a service before in my life but I had to this time. The woman who answers the phone is very unhelpful, difficult to deal with, and does the absolute minimum. I was told that the tow truck would come at a certain time and that I should call about an hour in advance. I did so, and the tow truck was not there so after two hours so I called the office. As I tried to explain that this was a time-sensitive operation the woman kept cutting me off and telling me that the truck would be there soon. Only after three hours had passed, and I called for the third time and said I was going to go with another towing company did I sense any urgency in her voice, and only then did she reach out to her staff. After that, the truck came very soon. I waited for the truck for three hours simply because the woman was too lazy to do anything- the moment that she actually started to care, only triggered by the threat of losing my money, was very obvious.
The only reason that I am leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the tow truck guy himself did a good job. Even the tower guy was like "what the hell" when he found out that my initial call was made three hours beforehand.
FANTASTIC WORK!!! I own and run a large truck rental company in ny and just had the privilege of doing business with glens. They have a wonderful staff and exemplamary service. I haven't seen a tow company care in 20 years. Fast ,reliable, fair ,smart and kind. I was so impressed!!! I will use them whenever I can. Great work. All my thanks
I should have checked the reviews on this place first.My semi truck was towed in for no power in the foot pedal. It had a WORKING air suspension control. After replacing 4 batteries and an Accelerator Pedal(not needed), and after 5 days of tracing wires, they discovered it was my ECM computer. THREE weeks later the truck was released back to me, but to my discovery too late, it had not air suspension. I had to spend an additional $400 OTR to take it real mechanics to which it was discovered the suspension had been simply unplugged. The owner Glen refused to take accountability that it was his shop that had forgot to reconnect it. Claiming they were never near that area when in fact for 8 hours I watched his guys in that very area. $5k for total repairs plus additional un reimbursed $400. And TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION. I had drive 2 hours back to NY just to get a direct update on truck because his administration staff up front act as gate keeper's. WILL NOT RECOMMEND HONEST PEOPLE TO DO BUSINESS HERE!!
Glen, Laura and team have been wonderful! An All Star company. Our camper was impounded to their place due to our truck breaking down. As luck would have it, they also fixed our truck and worked with us on the impound fees!! We are very appreciative of their service.
They charged $225 for a 5 mile tow, only a 10 minute drive. & $150 holding fee for less than 24 hours. Upon pulling up we asked where to park and were directed by an employee working in the back to park in a certain spot in the back, but then another employee told us we had to park in the front and an employee pulling up in a truck laid on their horn at us until we left that lot. Everyone was extremely short with us and rude, especially the woman who was working behind the counter. These people are scam artists and i’d rather drag my car with my own two hands then ever give them another cent again. Avoid!!!!
They were very accommodating! We broke down in our travel trailer and had no place to stay. They gave us a place to stay with our camper. Once the repair man came out he got the job done very quickly so we could get back in the road.
My wife and I, driving in our lane of traffic on route 100 south just past the intersection of route 35, had to avoid the reckless driving of one of their trucks doing over 60 heading straight for us in our lane, head on. NO FLASHING LIGHTS, NO REASON OTHER THAN TO PASS 4 YES 4 CARS DRIVING CORRECTLY IN HIS LANE. No regard for human life ours or his or others. NY State troopers is my next call
The bolts holding my alternator in place snapped and I was carring a load of animals. I couldn't find any mechanics available. I called Glen's Towing to have them tow me back to the barn, but they said they fix cars too! They got me back on the road same day, within 4 hours of when I brought it in. Life savers!
Glen's towing not only saved us in a time of need when my company's truck broke down in NY, but also went out of their way to provide me with any documentation I needed for insurance purposes. Thankful is an understatement!
We are on our way from Connecticut moving to North Carolina. My husband's truck lost the transmission while towing a trailer. Glen's came and saved us. They not only towed the truck with the trailer but they went above and beyond with not only getting a transmission but replacing it in record time along with some other issues. The office staff was so extremely helpful trying to find us a rental to finish our journey. We ended up staying in town because they were so quick and efficient. I will wholeheartedly recommend Glen's towing
Took a while, (I'm a semi driver & I broke down in the middle of the street, early 4a.m.)But once they're staff rolled out of bed I was right hooked up and out of the congestion of traffic
They helped me with a very difficult situation late on a Saturday night - the only mechanic shop (all listed as open) with in a 10 mile radius that even bothered answering the phone. Then they went above and beyond in helping me with my car - confidently and kindly. It made a bad day much better, ending it all on a positive note. Cannot thank them enough.
Spent $2300 to fix items they claimed to have something wrong with. Complete B.S., not to mention they only fixed (2/3) things and still took full payment.
Even broke the button to my passenger window, so instead of fixing it, they made it worse.
Told the owner then he denied it and CURSED at me and told me to get a new truck
Ended up being back differential, so all the items they fixed had nothing to do with the actual problem.
The staff members at Glen’s Towing are soooooo different from any other towing company in my area! My car was completely damaged in a flash flood caused by Hurricane Ida. Glen’s towing treated me with respect and kindness from the moment I called. When my car still had not come up in the computer as recently towed, Christine told me to wait 15 minutes so she could go walk all the lots to make sure my car had not been mistakenly forgotten or incorrectly logged in. While other towing companies never called me back Glens towing returned my calls promptly and professionally. I cannot say enough about everyone I encountered there. I hope I will never need a tow again, but I am certain I will call Ens if I ever do.
Service took over 1hr to arrive even when my allstate free towing was already on the way but the cop insisted that I use Glenns. Glenns driver promised that I'd be able to pick up my car the following day early Saturday morning..since the intention was to get the car away from the area of incident ...false! Deliberately did so then office said no releases on Saturdays so then I'd have to pay additional storage fees for Saturday and Sunday which is like an expensive hotel ! a 3 mile distance with initial estimate $600 thereabouts costing turned to about $1k due to additional storage.deceptive driver.bait and switch professional! Whereas my insurance company paid up to a certain amount and Glenns cost took it over the limit!!reflection may be on delinquent driver and not necessarily company. He said he was the yard mgr.incident sept2020.
Was in NY on my way to NJ in a work vehicle. Showed up at Glen's because the truck was having problems. Explained to Glen that I was on a job from Massachusetts and hoping to be able to finish with the truck. Unfortunately the truck was in need of big repairs. However Glen was willing to do whatever he could with his staff to get Us on the road. When it was diagnosed with serious issue he let me know right away and got on the phone with my boss to inform him of the issues. I sat in the lobby and was in a welcoming environment and got to see his shop go about the daily activities. NOBODY SAT STILL!! Everyone was moving to and fro on some task or another.. I can tell you that Glen himself is a super nice guy and he runs a tight ship. It's obvious he is good with his staff. But also the people keep him busy with their needs and listening to him take calls, it's obvious that he cares about everyone's issue pertaining to their vehicle. How he keeps track without looking at a book, well it's got to be from years at it. Excellent place to break down at.
This place rocks! I wish I knew about Glens 10 years ago, I would have brought all my cars there to be serviced. The dent in my Truck had me super bummed out:( Glen himself came out to inspect the damage and walk me though the in's and outs of the job.
There aren't enough stars on the scale for the services that i received it all started on a friday afternoon miles from long island 50 feet away from the loading dock the truck dies. what a scary experience i remembered that garmin had repair services GLEN'S TOWING popped up i made the call surprisingly LAURA answered the call i told her my problems she put me on hold... a minute later she told me about 30 minutes road service showed up the PRICE WAS FAIR never in 35 years of driving have had a tech look over the problems the way BIG NICK examined the truck UNABLE TO GET TRUCK STARTED needed a tow truck within 15 MINUTES TOW TRUCK ARRIVED after arriving at the shop i was greeted by a VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. i was advised that there was good chance i would have to leave the truck LAURA made the call to enterprise to get me a car while sitting and waiting i googled GLENS TOWING the positive reviews exceeded the negatives after a couple days the truck was ready THE PRICE I PAID WAS 20% LOWER THAN THE PRICE I WAS QUOTED. very impressed with the customer service quality of service professionalism & PRICE IM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING TRAVELING FROM LONG ISLAND TO WESTCHESTER TO HAVE MY TRUCK SERVICED
Fixed my truck when one else could figure out the problem. Great Diesel mechanics working at this place. Everyone was friendly. They want your business. I asked around and everyone says Glen's straight up the best.
Glen and his staff have made difficult times less stressful. Breaking down sucks and knowing have these guys are a phone call away is reassuring. When I bring my trucks in for service or repairs they're surprisingly fast. And they stand by their work.
After reading reviews, I decided to use this company because they sounded honest and family-friendly. I called in the morning and asked them to jump my car, and if that didn’t work then tow me to an automotive shop. On the phone, they were very kind and sympathetic. We planned on 8:45am. The tow truck did not show up until 9:35, charged my car within 2 minutes and charged me $107... JUST FOR A JUMP! I was shocked and challenged the price considering they didn’t need to tow me and kept me waiting for an hour! The price was not negotiated so I was left paying over $100 for a jump start. Needless to say, I would not recommend and I suggest looking elsewhere.
My car was towed after a terrible snow and I had to abandon it. Called everywhere to find which company had towed my car the next morning. Working with glens was amazing they were crazy busy with the snowstorm that hit they had been working all night and were still wonderful people to work with and did their best to get everyone their cars as fast as possible. Truly genuine people who work here, I would recommend to everyone.
