AVOID THIS SHOP. Took my 2006 Ram for some major repairs; Not only they were more expensive than estimates I got from another shop, but the quality of work was horrible. They returned the truck with a massive electrical drain, a dangerously rubbing e-brake, and they stole a jerry-can from my truck. In the end, I had to take it to a different shop to fix these issues. Absolute crooks.
Had a flat with no spare and they sent Sean through AAA. He was polite getting my car hooked up, the problem was on the drive to the mechanic.
Sean was on the phone for most of the ride, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal but he was being totally unsafe with it. Phone in-hand on FaceTime looking down at it and multiple times taking both hands off the wheel to adjust his settings. The conversation he was having also made him angry enough to punch the wheel more than once. Any young woman will tell you being alone with a man you don’t know is worrying enough, being alone with an angry man you don’t know is downright scary.
My car and I arrived at our destination safely and I appreciate being allowed to ride along for the tow, but I really hope Modena Automotive encourages their drivers to make safer decisions in the future.
James, my rescuer, came on an extremely cold day responding to my AAA tow request. He took his time to be careful; didn't yank stuff or act rough. He was thorough with safety checks and made some suggestions about my situation, which calmed my nerves. Being far from home, he made my circumstances seem less dire. Thank you, James and Modena!
I have had Triple A for 10 plus years, and I have never come across such a company that made me consider cancelling my subscription. Anthony responded to my AAA call, then he took one look at my driveway and said he won’t come because it wasn’t plowed properly. I didn’t get it at first, but I understood so I shoveled the entire driveway myself and put salt down, then I had to use another service call to request someone. The same exact guy came again. He didn’t even leave the truck, he just took one look again and said. It still white, so he’s not going to tow. Again, I understood what he meant. So I salted it AGAIN, then waited 4 hours before I requested another call. Then the Triple A dispatcher Caroline said that she won’t send someone else based on the photos Anthony sent 6 hours prior. She also made me feel like crap saying that nobody from Aaa was going to help because I kept requesting service and she threatened me to say that this was my last call so if I call again, she’s not going to send anyone but she’s going to just cancel it and count it as my last call. I was embarrassed and at this point I felt defeated. I sat outside in my car for hours trying to move it and ultimately gave up and had to miss work.
The next day, I requested service, the same guy Anthony was going to come again, but I had to cancel because I wasn’t going to be there. So the following day, now my car has been stuck 3 days. 2 service calls used, still nothing. The last and final call I have, I requested a tow with a flatbed this time because I thought I broke something under my car. This time. Sean AND Anthony came. They tried to help, and I saw the effort, but I didn’t want to tell them how to do their job because their supposed to be the experts, again, they couldn’t get the car out. They tried to pull the one wheel instead of both of the back wheels to pull it out straight. Now my last call is used, and it’s been 4 days going into 5 days and my car is still stuck. I have no calls left and I don’t get paid until next week, and there’s a storm coming on Sunday. This just keeps getting worst and I thought Anthony would keep his word to come back later in the day, I waited the whole day hoping for him to come outside but he never came. I’m very disappointed because when I read the reviews I saw that this was a reputable company. I hope in the future if I give them another chance, I don’t get someone that can’t finish the job. Now I have trauma everytime I’m going to call triple A because I never once thought a tow truck would leave without ever finishing a job. Now that I have experienced it, it’s hard to trust Triple A and just any tow company.
Russ , responding to my aaa roadside assistance request, was prompt, friendly, and not only professional, but acted as almost a guardian angel 👼. He went drive from deep in Kingston to where I was stuck in new paltz on a dark and lonely stretch of road and got me and my friends back in the road ! Thanks to Modena, AAA and especially my New Friend Russel for everything!!! 🙏🏻
Needed an AAA service and they sent Anthony from Modena - he jump started my truck and also gave me some helpful tips if I needed a jump in the future from another vehicle (800 cold crank amps on the battery). Thanks again for your help!!!

Big thumbs up to Doug! My engine stalled while I was in the Mohonks, and I thought I’d need a tow. Doug showed up, quickly diagnosed the issue, and identified that the brake fluid was low. He generously offered to add some from his own supply—and just like that, my car was up and running again. Truly grateful for his kindness and help!
They came to tow my car on 6/25. I believe the guy who came was named Paul or his name started with a P. He was amazing, he came quickly and helped me just as quickly. He even helped diagnose the problem with my car! Thank you so much!
Very disappointed with Modena repair services. Brought my car in for an issue twice and they didn’t fix it either time. They told me parts of my car were missing and broke gaskets in my car for repairs I didn’t need. Took multiple weeks to get my car back with very poor communication on the progress of repairs. Ended up taking my vehicle elsewhere for what ended up a very easy fix.
Modena Tow company on the other hand is wonderful. Very quick pickup and very knowledgeable guys.

Went there to get an inspection. Failed due to my rear brakes… Drove to highland and my front right rotor are making a loud screeching noise. They didn’t even do a real inspection. My caliper piston was all the way out and there was no pad 😭😭😭while doing the rotor we checked out the rear… the DRUMS WERE FINE. You could’ve probably sold me a new rotor pads and caliper but will never go back here.

Reed responded to my AAA call for a dead battery. He was very responsive and kept me informed of his arrival time. He was a pleasure to deal with and got my car started within one hour of my call. We were in an isolated campground that wasn't easy to find but he took the time to find us and we are grateful for his professionalism.
Service rep called with ETA and again when he arrived. He quickly diagnosed the problem and got my car started. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Would definitely use again.

Had a mechanical issue that required a tow Saturday and Russ was able to help me after every other option to get my car to run failed. Turns out it was a broken cable from the transmission that basically made the car not able to recognize if it was in park and left it dead on the side of the road. Thank god for Russ and AAA. He was prompt, beyond courteous and a true professional. He did all he could to protect the drivetrain, manually get the car in neutral and to the shop.
Had a flat tire this morning and Triple A sent Joel over. He was absolutely the best. Went above and beyond to help me in a tight spot. Highly recommend!

I had an issue and needed to get towed and my keys were locked in the car, AAA sent these guys my way. The driver, Joel was great, my car was in a hard to get spot but he managed to get it up on the truck no problem in a matter of minutes, as well as getting the car unlocked. We had some small talk in between, real nice guy, good customer service and he had the skills, A+ work, thanks!!
Ordered a tow from AAA, Jim came in a timely manner and recommended trying to jump my Prius before towing, it worked! He was kind and fast and did not ask for any money for coming all the way to Rosendale to help me! Highly recommend!
Hyundai Roadside actually went through AAA for my issue. The driver came in the exact time frame I was told. He was completely professional, confident & very kind in explaining exactly what he was doing. Was done in a flash & I honestly don't know how it could have gone better. I called triple-a for a toe they sent modina automotive to tow my car 2 hours later than I was told they were gonna be there, then proceeds to tell me they have to go back to plattekill because there was something wrong with their truck. Get a call back from triple-a saying that my vehicle would be dropped off at my house by 10 o'clock that night. Never showed app next morning still no car call triple-a, they told me it was modena's problem to get it here now had to pay the thorough tolls. And everything advanced, they still have my car. And it's almost 24 hours later that my car has not been brought back up. Very poor service when I call the tow company that gave me. Excuse after excuse that they only have 2 drivers and that they cannot get my car, and they don't know when they'll be able to get my car up. Here, baloney, they need to become more professional. With that being said, my car should have been first priority to be taken out of the yard and not kept in storage. They got their payments and everything and I do still do not have my vehicle and I had a mechanic coming to my house to check it. They stood around for 2 hours. I had to pay him because this place did not bring my car. If you're ever down in plattekill or Newburgh area, do not use this toe company for your vehicle because they'll hold it hostage. Well, finally got my car back 24 hours later when they got here, the driver's helper proceeded to tell my husband we needed a new engine which isn't so I only needed a cooling switch and the thermostat they shouldn't talk if they don't know what they're talking about?
Triple A sent a tow truck driver from Modena Automotive. I was collected, but obviously stressed due to having my car stall twice in traffic before I was able to get it safely to a location for towing. The driver asked me what happened so I explained what popped up on my dash and what I noticed when I popped the hood. He then proceeded to “confidently” tell me I would need my whole transmission replaced. Mind you, it’s a 2014 with only 70k miles on it and has been well maintained with no major problems prior to me owning it. He could be right, however my mechanic hasn’t even looked at it yet and it could be a number of other problems as well.
I explained all of this to him to which he scoffed and went, “well preventative care will be much cheaper than what you’re about to face.” Very bold of him to say while smoking a cigarette, having not looked at my car at this point. I was so disgusted by his treatment of someone who was in a very vulnerable and stressful position.
I encourage Modena Automotive to train their tow truck drivers in how to handle customer relationships. I understand that their job is not easy, no service job is. There’s so many different characters that are out there and they have to deal with so many different personalities; some are good, others not so much. However, it is absolutely unacceptable to give a “confident” diagnosis on a vehicle without looking at it. This only amplifies the stress and anxiety a car owner experiences when faced with an extreme challenge and cost.
Absolutely one of my best experiences dealing with a business during a very stressful time for me and my family. While towing my camping travel trailer and headed for vacation on the New York State Thruway, I unfortunately dealt with for the first time every campers nightmare, two tire blow outs on a very busy Sunday afternoon. The amount of time Fred and his crew spent to look for my rare and usually not in stock tire to get me and my family on the road for our vacation rather than just immediately tow us speaks volumes of the customer service, compassion and dedication Fred has for his business. Thank you Fred and the rest of the crew at Modena Automotive for putting me and my family at ease during a very stressful time.
