I've been on hold total of 3 hours between several calls. The 1st time an hour then was hung up on . Just to have a simple question of why my trash wasn't picked up on Douglas road Newfield. Very disappointed

Consistently expensive and poor service. Edit: new update! Our crows in the yard keep pulling off the dumb garbage tags that they force us to use on our garbage cans. So now Casella will just pass up our house. Why not just charge a monthly fee for trash pickup and charge by the can like literally every other town anywhere? Why use a sticker that can be damaged Casella actively encourages more plastic usage - have items in the wrong bag? Have you considered putting that plastic bag in a second plastic bag so that it’ll be taken on trash day? Have a paper bag? Nope! Put it in plastic otherwise they’ll throw it in your yard. It’s ridiculous that this is our only garbage pickup option.

Not sure what I’m paying Casella for, because they won’t pick up my trash. After several phone calls back and forth, and no explanation why my house is being skipped, I still have 3 weeks worth of tagged trash rotting at the end of my driveway.

Why are you people so disrespectful? Here I am ONCE AGAIN unable to go back to sleep before having to pull a 16 hr shift because your company decides to CONSTANTLY come into apartments complexs anywhere between 2-4 a.m and they are EXTREMELY loud. I know for a fact there is no reason to be as loud as they are. Slamming things SO hard. I know that's not necessary because just an hr or so later they are at my job being nice and quiet.... Which is a nursing home .. PLEASE Iam begging just be quieter. Kids have to be up for school and people have to be up for work. Seriously have some respect. It's very clear from the reviews you ppl are not very considerate. Do better.

I’d give a half if I could so they take the tag and leave the garbage. This is the second or third time that they have done this they take everybody else’s garbage but mine they took one bag but left the other two. Cassella Waste I did call your office and the lady that I spoke with. Did not know anything. Was gonna call me back in a few minutes. That was three days ago still have not received that call back that is not customer service. Trash still sits.

We have been using Casella for many years. Anytime there has been an issue with the service, I've called the office and they have gone above and beyond to get the issue resolved. Thank you for the great customer service.

Literally any other trash company is better than casella. They charge $400/year and pick up trash when they feel like. The folks in the office are very nice and professional, but their road crews miss pick ups regularly and throw trash everywhere except the truck. Don’t even bother with these clowns.

whoever picks up trash along 96b, should be fired. they throw trash all over the street, they throw my own recycling IN MY YARD - as occasionally i watch them because i never know if they’ll take my trash - even if it has a trash tag. since they have the habit of forgetting or not leaving an explanation as to why they won’t pick up my trash. or my neighbors trash. Or apparently anyone’s trash on 96b since i see a lot of it left lying around. it’s disappointing since i don’t even have the opportunity to request a different carrier. this has by far been the worst experience i’ve ever had. I have contacted casella and tompkins county trash / recycling but I never get a response. You’re supposed to be picking up the trash not leaving it around. Please do better to keep the streets clean that’s all i ask.

Based on my own experience with getting the run around to get a quote and the multitude of poor reviews, I’ve chosen to go with a local trash pick up business instead. I have sent 4 quote requests and answer their questions which includes asking my address then I get a follow up email asking what town and state I live in. It’s redundant and frustrating. Get it together Casella.

these guys are unreal, at one property i was working at, casella driver pulls in, starts blasting his horn obnoxiously for a good 5 minutes, then stole a brand new $50 shovel from a huge pile of gravel, on one of my job sites, neighbors kid saw them do it, and it was captured on camera. called casella about the hyjinks, asking for my shovel back and was met with extreme disrespect, arrogance, and dispondence on the matter. i guess he was mad about having to make a few extra turns at the turn around that day, i was able to get in and out with a dump truck and equipment trailer just fine...

If I could give zero stars I would. Been paying for pickup for four months and these clowns have only picked up my trash a total of three times. Finally they left a sticker that said I needed tags... No one told me that at any point prior. They should just incorporate that cost into the monthly fee ffs. It's a shame they're a monopoly in the area otherwise I'd find a different service. Honestly given the rating on here we should all get together and consider a class action suit.

I do not understand how you people think it's okay to come to an apartment complex at 3/4/5 AM and wake up an entire unit/ neighborhood. People have work and small babies and your trucks just come rushing in with no regards. It's EXTREMELY rude. Taking 10 mins to compress the trash slamming things. Why can't your people come to housing units a little later ? It's extremely rude !!

They have not picked up our garbage 4 times in the last 6 weeks. The customer service rep was very rude and insisted our pickup was on Mondays when in fact our pickup has been tuesday for a year. We are very disappointed in the service we pay for.

After 25 years I decided to cancel my service (too expensive now) and they decided to ding me for a last month even though I did not put out any trash for them to pick up. You'd think that length of use of their service would earn you something. Stay away from these guys.

When trash is picked up the waste management employee just dumps garbage all over the road then proceeds to just run stuff over..I have wrote the company in the past and can see that it did no actual good....I highly recommend Casella if you enjoy picking up trash that was all contained in one container....

The service was prompt and consistent. The customer service people were great. They have close to a local monopoly and everything costs more in NY so I didn't love their pricing. But I'd give 5 stars despite that if it wasn't for their billing model. See, Casella charges you a monthly fee to come pick up your trash. Cool, that's how private trash collection works. But then you also need to go and buy stickers. You need to place a sticker on every bag you throw out. Now town hall, the grocery store customer service counter and for some reason a florist sell them. But you still need to pay per bag regardless of weight, have enough stickers and make sure they stay on the bag. The system is silly.

I'd leave 0 stars if I could. This company is horrible! I have only been a customer for 3 weeks and am fed up with them already. 2 weeks go by, no trash pickup. I call a 3rd week, and they show, but don't take my bags because the stickers were the wrong color. Mind you, I called and asked what color stickers I needed and they advised the ones I had were indeed correct...which they weren't. How does a trash company not know what the correct stickers are?? Unreal. In the meantime, my trash bags are disgusting from sitting out for weeks on end. If this wasn't the only company to serve my location I would leave immediately but unfortunately for my and my family, this is what we have to deal with. Horrible!!

Non-existent customer service. always late for trash pickup. Our dumpsters at our business are constantly overflowing and we never get noticed or notification that pickup will be late or not happen at all certain weeks. When we try and call end up on hold for 20 minutes or more every time. I would give zero Stars if that was a possibility. If there was any other company that we could use for our business's trash removal we would leave Casella instantly. Such a shame that when you have no competition customer service does not matter and these reviews don't mean a thing. as soon as there is another trash removal option we will go with it.

I have used this company for over ten years at three different locations surrounding the Ithaca area. Recommended them to others, I actually appreciated them to the extent of buying the drivers gifts each year for the holidays. I never had a problem with them untill recent. My garbage was missed 6 weeks in a row total, Multiple pick up days changed, And more Excuses. I was also told the route comes at 3:45 in the morning is why my garbage wasn't being picked up, (when I have never seen them come once ever before 11). Claiming they had "photo proof" of my garbage not being out but my cameras shows otherwise. Being told I would have someone call me back and never did. And continuing to charge me even after canceling my service over the phone and in person. Extremely unprofessional. Go with Taylor garbage and save yourselfthe headake.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Didn't pick up my trash for 2 months and after calling them got transferred to 5 different people who all called me a liar and said I needed to provide proof and that they didn't believe me. They then missed picking up my trash for ANOTHER month and I showed them pictures and they said they could only credit me for 2 weeks even though they missed a month and I had to pay for dump fees. Do not recommend them at all - they don't care at all about people they just want money.

Not worth one star. They did property damage, 1st excuse dumpster in a S#!++¥ spot, they put it there and been there for 3 yrs! 2nd excuse they don't like residential dumpsters, then why am I paying you? They did send someone to fix it but was clear they don't respect or want their customers, just their $$. Now we are 6 weeks with no service. 3 pickups missed. Call and just get excuses and false promises. They said dumpster not accessible from snow, we haven't had more than a 1/2" of snow and none on their pickup dates. Lies! No drivers, training drivers, slow drivers. Told it would be picked up on three other makeup dates and nothing! They can't even swap around routes to pick up 1/2 the time. Poor management. They have no communication when the change pickup dates, don't call if they can't pickup (because of snow that doesn't exist), saying they will call at 8am and they don't call nor pick up. Been patient, but they will lie, give excuses or ignore you. hey will lie, give excuses or ignore you.

My garbage/recycling bin is consistently thrown into the middle of my driveway at the end near the street so I have to quickly get out of my car in the middle of the road to move the bin in order to pull into my driveway or drive past and pull over to then go move the bin. The trucks seem to also decide what days they will take all of my recycling and throw the rest into my yard. Very dissatisfied with this service.

We are new to Casella when our service was turned over to them when Alternative Waste went out of business. I paid my 1st bill over the phone with customer service. At that time I set up a recurring payment every 3 months. The very next month I was again charged on my card. The person I talked to was very helpful and pleasant. She stopped my recurring payment as I asked. She credited my account which she said would take 4-5 weeks which is unacceptable. Also showing up on my account was a invoice for $70 for a date in 2018 and for a different service location. I could not see anything about my service location. The only thing they could tell me is someone else must have had the same customer account number in the past. This placed is screwed up. I am now waiting for a call back with a full explanation.

This is what it looks like after casella "provided their service". After two inquiries. half a day apart, they have the audacity to tell me that the bin was already emptied when I was staring right at the bin the whole day I was at work. There was no notice of the service being late. But apparently now they want to do it tomorrow. Don't bother with this company.

I'm surprised at all the low reviews. I had Casella for two years in Ithaca and I think they only missed my pick up one time. I called customer service and someone came by later that day. I'd call that a pretty good track record. Everything was always picked up, and trash cans set upside down well away from the road.

NO STARS! They did not pick up my trash one week with no explanation. So, beginning the following week, I did not bother putting it out, and have not since. A little while later, I start getting calls about my bill being past due! I told the rep that my trash was not picked up, to which she replied that the was "no note" from the pickup guy- only a note referring to the week where I did not put my trash out. She refused to believe that their worker could have skipped my house and not noted it. Now you would think (if you were an actual logical person) that it would make sense for me not to put anything out following a week where it had been left for no apparent reason. Evidently I am lying, and the service there is beyond reliable. The next call from them- the note about my trash not being put out or picked up has miraculously vanished, and even though I have cancelled my account- they still think I should pay them for the month and a half when I did not receive service! And to top it off, I have been hearing that this is a pretty common occurrence with this company! Do yourself a favor- take you trash to the waste center, or choose another company! Unless you like headaches, hassles, and unreliable service.

Did not show up for trash pickup for 2 consecutive weeks after I activated my account. I spoke with customer service DAILY after missed pickups and was never called back, and they refused to send someone out early to pick up my accumulating garbage. I cancelled my account (and now have a bunch of useless trash tags...) and switched to AWS. They agreed to go out of their way and pick up my trash the next business day. What a joke.
