Third bridge here. Far too much history to list, but well worth the search on your own. First span built in 1870 was a wire rope suspension affair known locally as Deckers Bridge. Storm floods of 1903 took that old girl out. Next span was a two span Through Truss that lasted until 2018 when she was replaced with the current two span Through Truss.

The bridge over the Delaware is absolutely beautiful! It's like a picture postcard!

That bridge leads to pond Eddy PA. The only town in PA you can't get to from PA. Pic is from NY side of Delaware river. Only way in.

As much as the old bridge was nostalgic. This bridge is sturdy and still offers a walking path wide enough for two or three people. Great on full moon nights with someone special.

A beautiful new bridge spanning over the Delaware between New York and Pennsylvania.

Great scenery, beautiful drive.. Just can be congested with other road trippers.

This place brings back a ton of memories for me. I lived directly across Route 97 from it. You could see our garage from the bridge. This is not the original bridge, the original had upper steel and wooden floor. Family tied rope to the old bridge to swing and jump from.

The old bridge was just soooooooo much better. What did it take to build the new bridge, like 3 years! LOL

It seems a bit big for what is needed but it’s a very nice bridge with a very pretty view on both sides.

How cool is this...a bridge to nowhere? Well it's not quite to nowhere, but this bridge across the Delaware R. at Pond Eddy, NY to the PA side, leads to two dead-end roads. This old steel truss bridge once helped mining and lumber goods get over the river to the railroad, but those days are gone. Currently being renovated, this one lane bridge is the only road out for the few residents who reside on the PA side.
