I had a wonderful time with my finance for a weekend winter get away. John was very attentive to our needs, the Tavern food and drink were great, and the room was very comfortable. I highly recommend!
The Arnold House was a wonderful winter weekend getaway. John was so hospitable and went out of his way to accommodate us during our stay. The tavern had excellent food, drinks and atmosphere. We enjoyed playing board games, making s’mores, snowshoeing and the sauna during our stay. The room was cozy and they provided a great spread for breakfast. Would recommend booking your stay!

My partner and I stayed at The Arnold House this past weekend, which ended up being the coldest winter weekend in years. Despite that, we had a really nice, relaxing time. The property is lovely, even with all the snow! We enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in the common area, talking or reading our books. It's nice that it's a 5 minute drive from town, so we took a quick drive to explore a little. We also ate at the Tavern, which was convenient and the food was delicius. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I love that they are a text away with any questions, rather than trying to phone a desk or find someone. The room was nice - way bigger than expected. We enjoyed the soaking tub, especially on the coldest night. We also had deep tissue massages. Our masseuse, PJ,was great!
The reason for -0.5 star, which I feel are worth noting:
- The bathroom windows in the room were not well insulated at all, particularly with how cold it was this weekend. We had to tuck towels along the sill and turn the heat all the way up for it to be even slightly warm.
- We booked the Spa Escape Package (massages), including a sauna session. There were no real instructions on that without constantly following up. We weren't sure if we just show up for our massages or go to the front desk. Also, it stated the sauna and massage sessions include cold citrus water and tea. There was no water for us after the sauna or the massage session, and though there were tea bags, we weren't offered or told we could make tea. I don't believe there was hot water set up. Not the end of the world, but a detail that would have been nice.
- As part of the Spa Escape Package, we should have had a $50 credit toward The Tavern. We weren't given any type of certificate for it or told how to use it, so I'm not sure how we would have received the credit. We are at the Tavern twice, but unfortunately forgot to ask about it, so we lost out on the credit. As detailed as they are (cute welcoming note with our keys at check in, information in the room, welcoming texts, etc), some type of certificate or voucher would have been useful.
This is our 3rd consecutive year staying at the Arnold House (same time of year, early February) and the service is always consistent. The team at the Arnold House understands hospitality better than anyone! John, Will, Lori and Venessa are the best. We highly recommend a stay at the AH. See you all soon!
Loved our stay at Arnold House! We went for a winter weekend away and had such a relaxing, cozy time. The staff were incredible and made the experience so comfortable! We booked the winter spa getaway and I had an incredibly relaxing massage right on site. The Tavern is so cozy and the staff were so friendly. We loved the afternoon cookies and sitting by the fire. Thank you Arnold House!
We had a fantastic snowy weekend at The Arnold House during the big snow storm in January 2026.
Will, the General Manager, gave us the option of rescheduling for another weekend or getting snowed in at the hotel, and we chose the latter. It was a great decision.
He was incredibly accommodating and fun to chat with. The room was cute and although it got a bit chilly (since it's an old building and it was -5 degrees outside), Will gave us a space heater that made it totally comfortable.
The hotel itself is really cozy. Genuinely the perfect place to have a snowy weekend. We took the complementary snowshoes out on the trails, ate well in the tavern downstairs, and kept the fires well-stoked.
We will be coming back, and recommend that you do too!
The Arnold House and Foster Supply staff helped us to accomplish the wedding weekend of our dreams! Not only did they go above and beyond for us, we feel like we made friends with them along the way. It was inspiring to see how the staff embodies hospitality from the warm greetings to the last-minute problem solving. We felt safe and taken care of during our entire wedding weekend. In planning, they listened to us and helped us realize our vision for our wedding, not just what they had done in the past. It feels like each wedding they do is unique to the couple. Let's also not forget the FOOD. Our guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had. Chef Brit is a phenomenal talent. She was so accommodating to our dietary restrictions and provided delicious options for everyone. We don't think we could have found a better venue option for us in the area or anywhere else.
We absolutely recommend the Arnold House for a wedding weekend or an overnight stay. We plan on visiting here for many years to come!
My family and I just stayed at The Arnold House and had the best time! My child did not want to leave! The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms spotless, beds are so comfortable and every single staff member was beyond gracious and kind. I am excited to come back in the summer when the pool is open!
Our stay at the Arnold house was lovely. From the texts leading up to our stay and upon our arrival, the staff ( especially will) were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. Every member of the staff was so kind, each going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We decided to bring our dog last minute and they made her feel at home with dog bowls and a bed in the room. Most of the rooms are dog-friendly, and the entire property is set up in a way that truly embraces dogs rather than just allowing them.
The restaurant is absolutely adorable — cozy, warm, and full of charm. The food and drinks were excellent. The ambiance in the main room with a fire crackling almost 24/7 with comfy seats and cozy blankets made the whole experience feel like a perfect winter retreat. We read in that room with our dog both days for hours. Beyond relaxing.
The rooms themselves could use a little tweaking stylistically to make them feel a bit cozier, but we also understand they’re intentionally designed with dogs in mind, which means no carpeting and certain choices to keep everything clean and durable. It didn’t take away from the stay at all. The beds are also super comfortable!!
We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and already excited to come back! Highly recommend, especially if you’re traveling with a pup.
We stopped in at the tavern for lunch on a Saturday this Fall, as we’d visited The Arnold House a few years ago (a 5-star experience then, too). From great service at the bar (thanks, Lori) to chatting with Will about the property’s amenities and the Foster Supply Hospitality group, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch, a few games of pool, and good music. This is a must stay/do/visit if you’re visiting Sullivan County, NY.
Our favorite place to visit in the Catskills! My husband and I have visited here multiple times over the last few years and we always have such an amazing experience. The staff members are so kind and welcoming, and really make you feel at home when you visit! Special shout out to John and Will for helping to make our most recent visit so special for our anniversary. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
Found this place by chance, tavern is open odd hours 12-3 on weekends, 4-9 on weekdays, but very cool spot. Pool table, good music, nice people. Lesser known to the general public. Out back there is a beautiful space. Haven’t stayed here but would consider it. Definitely coming back

We had our wedding at The Arnold House on September 6, 2025, and it was everything we dreamed of and more! Literally every moment exceeded all expectations and I can’t stress enough that if I could give 1,000 stars I would. The grounds and spaces are absolutely breathtaking, from the ceremony sites to the reception areas, every corner of the property is filled with whimsy and wonder. Our photographer had an endless supply of amazing spots for photos throughout the weekend! Most people will tour the venue during the off season and believe me when I say it is worth the wait to see it in all its glory come summer/fall! The barn barely needs decorating, it's SO charming itself, the greenhouse is incredible with all its plants and life, the sunroom is the cutest spot ever, the outdoor ceremony sites are so magical with the trees, wildflowers and pond, the bluestone patio was perfect for our private first dance and the big circle meadow for ceremony or rehearsal dinner is literally straight out of a taylor swift music video. I was obsessed. |But what makes The Arnold House so special is the people. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel completely at home and like family. And not like we were in their home but like they were in OUR home. They constantly reminded us that the property was ours for the weekend, our friends and family felt it and so did we. Will and Emily were by our side every step of the way — no request was ever too big, and their calm, caring presence made the whole experience seamless and stress-free. Their level of customer service is something I’ve truly never seen. You know they’re good when guests that weren’t even involved in the process were naming them and singing their praises. Rita and Lori brought such energy and kindness behind the bar and during late-night festivities; they made sure every guest felt welcome and cared for with amazing cocktails and conversation just such a blast! |Also cannot get through this without stating that our guests are still raving about the food — Brittany is an incredible chef, and we heard over and over again that this was the best wedding meal they had ever had. And you know it’s true when they’re calling out dishes by name “OMG the horseradish sauce on the steak? Those crispy brussels? And the whipped feta?” Every bite was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully presented and felt super personal and not at all cookie cutter. And cannot leave out John who greeted everyone with such warmth and attentiveness, all the way through to our final morning when he made us a farewell breakfast that was so sweet and such a thoughtful send off.|In general there wasn’t a thing that felt cookie cutter about my wedding because they made me feel like I had full autonomy over the weekend and it really showed. I really wanted my wedding to feel unique and Arnold House not only allowed for that but encouraged it every step of the way. Seriously every single space at The Arnold House radiates happiness and love, but it’s the people who make it truly extraordinary. Bottom line if rustic modern is your vibe HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE. I toured multiple places and no one compared from then til now. My husband, our parents, our bridal parties, and guests all could not stop raving about every aspect of arnold house. It is truly a magical place with incredible people who want nothing more than to help make all your dreams come true. And I can honestly say they did and then some. THANK YOU! We already can’t wait to go back for an anniversary or random weekend because we miss everyone and the space so much already!
The Arnold House is a lovely, cute place to stay in the Catskills. Our room, Shandelee Post was huge, spacious and clean for a family of five. We spent a lot of time in the games room where breakfast and snacks are provided. The pool area is great and the fire pit too. Overall, a great place to stay in the Catskills.
My husband and I had our wedding here this June and the team at The Arnold House was so amazing to work with throughout the process. I truly do not think we would have had as great of a weekend if we had done it anywhere else. Everything felt very personally cared for, they approach everything with a 'yes' attitude, and in general they were so hospitable and communicative that we never felt nervous about their ability to execute the wedding weekend.
As a venue itself there are a myriad of options to choose from for hosting all the different parts of a full wedding weekend, and we never needed to repeat using a location over the course of the 7 different scheduled events (rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party, farewell brunch). It was great being able to host the majority of our guests on-site as well, and minimized the amount of coordination we needed to plan in advance for off-site guests, like hotel blocks and transportation.
We had the most incredible week-long stay at Arnold House! We're a group of artists, and we so enjoyed the beauty and inspiration of the surroundings, the delicious food, and the outstanding hospitality. Will and his team (John, Viry, Phil, Brittany, Francesca, and many more!) were so open to ideas and feedback to make our stay special. Danielle and Emily on the events side got everything set up for us in advance and I always felt we were in good hands. Looking forward to return trips!
We loved ending the day with s’mores by the fire! My partner and I came to the Catskills to explore some local trout towns and attend a concert, the Arnold House was the perfect home base for us in our adventure. The staff was incredibly friendly (looking at you Will, Lori, and John) which added to the comfort and home away from home feeling.
We came up for one night to relax with our pup.It was a perfect place for that. The property is really pretty. We enjoyed the trails. The tavern was delicious and made a great cocktail. The staff was top notch! We will be back!
Had dinner last night at The Tavern. I ordered the whiskey ribs and they were delicious. My daughter had her classic Arnold Burger which never disappoints. Great food, smiling faces from all the staff. Overall great experience.
Highly recommend Arnold House! It's such a lovely hotel with the kindest staff and coziest interior. We enjoyed hanging out in the tavern, playing pool and music on the jukebox. The rooms are very comfortable and while we weren't able to enjoy the pool yet, it looks like it'll be such a nice spot to hang out in the summer. Our pup had a great time too :)
The Arnold House exceeded all of our expectations! They were extremely friendly and hospitable and went above and beyond to make sure our weekend (girls trip of 10) was fantastic. Planning was easy and executive was, again, beyond expectations. Will was extremely helpful, but everyone we met (bartenders, yoga instructor, etc.) was very friendly and helpful. Live music on Saturday night was great! The Arnold House is a gem! Thanks again!!!! If you are planning an event, the Arnold House will help you create exactly what you are envisioning.
Truly an incredible stay and a gem in the Catskills. The staff were so attentive to our needs and helped plan an incredible bachelorette event. The on-site activities, food, drinks, and service were beyond what we expected and I highly recommend for anyone who is planning a group retreat or event. Will was so accommodating and helped with any changes we needed during our stay. A must stay and unique experience!
My boyfriend and I originally booked an Airbnb for a long weekend, but due to frozen pipes, we had to find a last-minute alternative. We ended up at The Arnold House, and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. They prepared completely dairy-free breakfast options for us every morning, as both of us have dairy allergies. They were very generous and welcoming throughout our entire stay. We had an amazing weekend and were truly impressed by Will's exceptional hospitality! The lodge is also very cozy and we enjoyed sitting in front of the fire nightly with cocktails. Bonus: they’re dog-friendly, so it’s a great option if you’re traveling with a pet! I highly recommend booking a stay here if you’re in the area!
This was our second trip to The Arnold House with friends over the Christmas holiday. Our questions were answered ahead of time and the staff on site (morning and afternoon, as well as the great people working in the Tavern) were all lovely and helpful. It is dog friendly, and a great place to chill during a few slow days after the holiday. Breakfast had enough variety from day to day. The food from the Tavern was delicious. And they quickly set up space for us to eat in the common room as dogs can’t go to the Tavern. The only thing I can think of is Room 12 would benefit from some coat hooks by the door, and a way to control the heat.
We had our wedding in November 2024 at the Arnold House, and it's safe to say that this place is now our favorite spot!
The Arnold House proved to be the absolute best best spot for our wedding weekend. It was perfect because of how amazing it was to have all of our bridal party and family on property, but it really was perfect because of how much the staff really cared about our wedding. The Arnold House and I likely had about 200 emails from the pre-booking process to the wedding day, all ensuring that every question we had was addressed and that our vision for the weekend would come together. They focused so deeply on really understanding our wedding weekend vision and making so many adjustments to ensure that the weekend was everything that we wanted. The patience, time, effort from the staff made the wedding experience for us and our guests truly magical! All of our guests had the best time and that’s really thanks to the entire Arnold House team. Everyone had absolutely glowing remarks about the venue and the lodging experience.
So, if you're thinking about getting married at the Arnold House - do it! It will be the most magical weekend of your life surrounded by everyone you love! And I assure you that this team will make your dream come true because they did it for me! 10/10 recommend Arnold House, and we'll be back for a fun stay to reminisce on our wedding weekend!
I got married here last weekend and I cannot even think of the words to describe just how amazing it was, not only this past weekend but also throughout the entire planning process and our various visits/stays. When we toured the Arnold House, we fell in love. For a wedding, they have everything figured out. There are multiple locations for each part of the weekend - from welcome dinners to after parties and everything in between. We could not believe how beautiful the outdoor ceremony site was, and also the greenhouse if it was raining or if we just wanted the ceremony there. Emily, the events coordinator, made the planning process seamless and as anxiety free as possible. She is kind, knowledgeable, and organized.
We were so excited to go back for our tasting and the food blew us away. So many creative options and they were all delicious. The chef’s were also extremely accommodating to allergies and restrictions. We stayed there for a few nights and our room was beautiful and clean. We got to walk on the trails on the property, eat at the tavern, and enjoy the relaxing vibe.
When it came to the wedding weekend, my husband and I felt confident that the staff had everything all together and once we arrived, we were able to relax. Our guests were raving about the rooms, the property, and the food throughout the whole weekend. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It feels like we discovered a hidden gem, and we cannot wait to revisit every year!
Well, we didn’t quite stay at the hotel, but we enjoyed a meal at the Tavern, and it was my favourite meal during all of my vacation. a very helpful server at the nearby Catskill brewery suggested restaurant and we are truly grateful. We went on a Monday night for dinner and it was fully packed. The ambience was warm and cosy. we all got the margarita because it was a five dollar margarita night, and they were extremely delicious. We got the trout dip, which was exceptional. The apple and water crust salad was great as well. The star of the show had to be the dry aged steak which was extremely well cooked and very flavourful. We finished the meal with the apple pie, which again was phenomenal. Overall, it was an excellent meal and I will definitely be back.
I will start by saying that if you're thinking of getting married at the Arnold House, definitely do it. My son got married there this past weekend and everything was literally perfect . The setting is beautiful, and it was so nice to have so many comfortable options for the family and guests to stay on the premises. There were so many varied beautiful choices inside and out on site to have the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, after party and brunch and each was set up and decorated with charm and style. The food was delicious at all the events. But what made all that possible was the exceptional staff. No matter what was asked, they went out of their way to accommodate , always with a warm smile. Everything was done exactly as promised and the results exceeded expectations. What a perfect place to get married!
