They refused to give price over the phone for a simple tire plug. When they told me $25 at the shop, I mentioned another shop quoted $20 (they were closed), they got insulted and refused me service until I smoothed it over. Finally, paid the "nice" lady at the front $27 (tax of course) who accepted my card with a smile. Thanks guys.

I came here for a used car inspection and the guys squeezed me in after closing. Felt very thorough. Huge fan of this shop!

Daughter goes to college nearby at St. Thomas Aquinas while we are on other side of country in AZ, great to have a place she can take her car and have them actually care. Prices are reasonable and they definitely are looking out for their customer's best interest. Wouldn't go anywhere else in the area!

Good shop. When I was in a jam for time they were able to get my inspection done quickly. Even if I don't need some repair, I try to get something like an oil change done with my inspection so they get a little business out of the time spent. When I had an older car, I was given a proper assessment of a major issue that saved me several hundred dollars, and got another 2 years out of the vehicle.

Best mechanic around! Valentine and his team are amazing and so accommodating and pleasant. They have picked up my car (battery dead) to bring it to their shop and dropped it off when my husband was out of town and I couldn't come back to their shop to get it. When I stop in with a headlight out, they always greet me with a smile and have the issue fixed in no time! They are the best!

I renewed my NY registration but misplaced the sticker. I got a temporary from the DMV. NY law states that the original expired registration must remain on the windshield along with the temporary in order for the temporary to e valid. I went to get my car inspected and Orangeburg Auto Repair scraped off the original registration and taped on the white piece of folded computer paper with the temporary printed on it. When I registered my angst that they did this they told me the the expired one was no good. They had no idea what the law is. How could an Auto Repair shop not know the rules of their own business? I could not drive my car for 2 weeks waiting for the replacement to come in the mail from the DMV. I was now driving a car without legitimate registration displayed. I had to lose a days work to go run to the DMV and waste all day to get a replacement registration as I could no longer rely on my temporary. Horrible experience.

Absolutely amazed by the service I received here! Their experienced and knowledgeable staff went the extra mile to solve an issue with my car where most places would have taken the easier route and charged me hundreds to replace a part instead of finding a solution. They are honest, reliable and caring. You can count on these guys to treat your car problems as if they were their own. Thanks guys!

I have been coming to this garage for a few years, for all car repairs: inspections, brakes, minor repairs.. today was a taillight fix, and they repaired my car right away. Always, extremely fair and reliable. Excellent service!

First time here. I used to be a mechanic and licensed NY State vehicle inspector. I always make sure my vehicle is 100 percent ready to pass inspection. Seems other places usually find "Something" to fail it.And of course when I call them on it thier position changes and they pass it. No issues with these guys. They seem to be straight shooters. I highly recommend them.

Cannot say enough about this business..... My car was making a rattling noise at the back, took to Orangeburg Auto repair.... They gave me a ride home., after an hour called and told me it was caused by a loose wheel, the bolts were loose, they tightened the bolts now no noise and everything is okay. they picked me up again to get my car. NO CHARGE.. How many places do you do business with that don't charge for every little thing? The cause of the loose wheel was caused by me taking my car to NISSAN to have an oil change and inspection....... Right after I left Nissan I heard a noise in rear of my car. I didn't realize it was from the wheel , thought it was from my exhaust pipe as Nissan had said, my exhaust pipe needed attention. Bottom Line is, Rockand Nissan was negligent in securing the wheel back after inspection, this could have been a disaster if I had lost the wheel. Orangeburg Auto is an honest and trustworthy repair shop. I would highly recommend them. Thank you Orangeburg Auto. David July 26, 2022

Had a major issue with my car on the way from Boston to Baltimore and got stranded in New York. Valentino was the first & only one who picked up our call and got to work right away on it. Thought we would be stranded for at least a night but Valentino went the extra mile to make sure we got back on the road in time to make it to Maryland later on the same day. If I could give 6 stars I would. I can’t recommend Valentino and the fellow mechanics enough for how hard they work, truly a lifesaver.

This place is GREAT!! It is a father and son, auto repair shop. They are honest, truthful and show you step by step what they are doing. I came in on short notice for an inspection with no appointment. I was taken in very quickly and only had to wait about 20 minutes for everything to be completed. During the inspection they also noticed that I needed a new rear wiper blade but they did not have the right size in stock. They told me where I could go to find one and suggest that I replace it as soon as possible to avoid scratching my rear window. I would absolutely come here again with no hesitation.

I would not recommend to anyone! Only go if you want to be ripped off. I had to change rotors for the car and told them that break pads were new because I had them changed few days prior. When I came to pick up my car the lady said that they changed the pads as well because they were old and worn out. They never called or asked for permission to change break pads. I did not want to argue with them, so I will take my business else where. I don’t like to deal with unprofessional people.

Went in for an inspection. Left with a damaged A pillar. Careless use of a scraping tool left numerous deep scratches on the plastic trim. This business has no regard for people's personal property. If they're this grossly negligent doing a simple inspection, I definitely wouldn't trust them with any actual mechanical repairs. Never coming back here again.

Valentine literally saved our lives! We had just started up the Palisades when a loud sound started coming from the front end, the car vibrating ferociously. We quickly pulled off exit 5N and serendipitously there was Orangeburg General Auto Center. It was 5:50p (10 mins before closing) and we asked the gentleman at the repair spot what it could be. It was Valentine, the owner, and he said, “come on, let’s go for a ride so I can hear what you hear.” Valentine knew it had to do with the front wheel. When we got back to the shop he had the car put up on a lift. Turns out the wheel lug nuts were loose enough to take off by hand... the car was at a repair shop in Fort Lee, NJ two days earlier... perhaps Fort Lee auto shop forgot to tighten the wheel lug nuts? Anyhow, Orangeburg tightened all the lug nuts on all four wheels and sent us on our way. Valentine and his team are life savers! We will be back. Thank you Valentine!

I have been their customer for close to 20 years. Over the last 20 years have given business worth over $ 25,000.00. Recently their attitude has changed and they have started very poor customer services. I am infact in court with them over a transmission which was poorly done and broke down in less than 3 months. The turnover of employees is extremely high. You will not see the same technician the second time that you go there. Quality mechanics leave this place as they indicated that they are poorly paid. I would never ever reccomend this place to anyone. If there was a place for ZERO stars that is what I would give them.

Quality work at a decent price, and HONEST! I'm 65 years old and have seen a lot of auto shops, but these people blew me away last week. Here's the story: Been going to this family-owned shop for about four years for my car, and my two kids' cars. About a month ago, my daughter called me from where she goes to school to report the left rear brake had to be replaced. But wait, I said, I had that caliper and rotor done at Orangeburg General less than a year ago. She got the repair done and drove it home last week for Thanksgiving. I brought the receipts into the Orangeburg, showing the replacement rotor/caliper install cost me $130 (parts and labor). I expected a run around. Instead they refunded BOTH the parts and the labor cost! Even though the part was under warranty, they said because I didn't return the car to them and make the claim when the repair was done, they couldn't get reimbursed. I explained my daughter goes to school two hours away and it was unsafe to drive the car back here. They thought about it and gave me the FULL refund. This kind of honesty in an auto repair shop is just plain shocking. Highly recommended. THANKS MARIA!

I have been servicing my 2004 and 2011 Honda CR-V's here for the past 3 years. The prices are always fair, and they always tell me the truth about what is wrong. YES, I have checked with another mechanic on occasion and I'm always happy to know that they are honest. Oil changes are fast and affordable. These are HONEST, Hard Working People. Happy to have them in a great location.
