This is a nice little reservoir. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because I think it's overkill not allowing kayaks or canoes with no motors on the water. I don't understand what that would hurt. There's some huge fish in this reservoir
Love fishing here been doing it for years..just an fyi if you read this and decide to fish you have to have a special permit that you get from city hall in troy I think it was 10 bucks for 2 years
I recommend visiting this beautiful reservoir in all seasons, day or night! Preferably don't visit alone.
It's fun stargazing on cloudless nights (less light pollution); summer and fall mornings are idyllic, and try walking on the lake on a cold winter day (check the ice though). About 20 mins east of Troy on route 7, may not want to uber/lyft it there, as it could be difficult to get one back.
You can fish from the shore in a few places, but otherwise this beautiful body of water is OFF LIMITS! I mostly ride my bike around it though, so it's at least good for that.
Beautiful body of water. This is used as a water supply. No motors or swimming allowed. Shore fishing only with a permit. Ice fishing is allowed with hand auger only. No shanty's allowed either.
