In contrast, the Union Square Best Buy was terrible, making up rules literally in real time to scam you. So was much nicer here that they are treating customers as people instead of a sucker.Feb 18, 2026 -
I came to buy a laptop for Valentine’s Day on February 13th. I went to 3 stores including Apple and I wasn’t sold and convinced on finally purchasing this MacBook Air until a young man working at this location named Kevin gave me the confidence that it was worth buying and made my experience fun . Not even the Apple employees I left prior to coming in to this location sold me like Kevin did. This is my first laptop so I really needed somebody who was patient and descriptive as him. I was given a receipt to scan his name for a review but it wouldn’t scan. But he has braces and a cool haircut for further description. I’ll add a picture of my receipt regardless but maybe it’s because it got wet . Thanks so much again

I went 100% ready to buy a phone and service was deplorable. I was helped by three people, all of them totally apathetic. An employee who knew nothing and seemed to be making an effort not to sell a phone, his manager who had little manners and cero people skills and, finally, a barely OK Geek Squad employee who at least answered my questions. 10 minutes later I went somewhere else and bought myself a phone.

Please do not shop at Best Buy for anything. They just ripped me off for $446.38. I had hoped that when they went bankrupt, they would come back with an eye on serving their customers. That has not happened, and I am hoping that soon they will not be allowed to stay in business at all, so they cannot continue to harm customers. Three months ago, because my desktop could not handle Windows 11 and Microsoft was requiring it to provide cyber security, I bought an HP OmniDesk i3. The on-off button became problematic two months into ownership and stopped working three months into ownership. I could not turn the device on! When I tried to get my money back from Best Buy, or at least get a store credit so I could purchase a computer other than HP, I was informed they would NOT honor HP’s one-year warranty, and that because I had not purchased Best Buy’s EXTENDED warranty, I could take my device home, box it up, and send it to HP to maybe get someone, somewhere to repair the on/off switch or maybe get them to send me a new OmniDesk 13, that would also very likely have a faulty on/off switch. This effort would take months with no guarantee I would ever get a desktop that worked! Of course, I could just buy a new computer from them on the spot and buy the extended warranty if I would like. They had a salesman ready and waiting to help me!
So, the moral of this story is DO NOT by an HP anything! And, if you must or think it is OK to shop at Best Buy, figure the cost of their “EXTENDED” warranty into the price of whatever product you buy. Because, without paying for that, you will have NO SERVICE whatever. They are lying when they call it “warranty”. It is actually part of the cost of getting them to honor any purchase you make from them.
Moreover, when I tried to post this review on Best Buy Reviews, I was denied access to the service. BEWARE of this company!Jan 16, 2026 -
Best Buy’s appliance delivery/installation in NYC has been extremely frustrating and unreliable. Washer/dryer (12/29/2025): delivered but not properly installed (power cord ~1 ft too short). I bought the recommended cord; washer powers on but no water flows, so it’s unusable—despite paying for installation. COI: Best Buy initially sent a generic COI missing my name/address/management company; my condo board rejected it. I had to track down a number on the COI and fix it myself, costing hours. Dishwasher (1/7/2026): delivered at noon; I was told installation would happen 1–4 pm, but at 4 pm I learned it was never scheduled. Earliest washer fix offered was 1/13, but it was set for 1/16 (over 2 weeks after delivery). Poor coordination, poor communication. If your building requires a correct COI, think twice.

We recently purchased a thermador microwave and gas range bundle online from bestbuy and are very dissatisfied with the support services (I called this store several times). While we were initially told that bestbuy would be able to help us with installation, the gas range installation appointments have been unavailable after weeks and hours of my spending on the phone with bestbuy home services team, and the microwave installation was apparently just a "trim kit" installation despite my communicating that we need an old microwave taken out and new one installed, and this was communicated to a number of home services team members (I called 4 or 5 times total). We are beyond discouraged and will never purchase an appliance requiring installation from Bestbuy ever again. They let us down and abandoned us with an extremely large appliance and not even a referral for a reliable installation company.

Isaiah was extremely professional, friendly, polite, and helpful during my visit earlier today to purchase a new television for my apartment. He took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, showed me multiple options, shared his expertise, and answered all of my questions thoroughly. His attitude was welcoming and respectful throughout, and he genuinely made the entire shopping experience enjoyable. This was easily one of my favorite trips to Best Buy. If you’re shopping for home electronics like TVs, soundbars, or related equipment, I highly recommend seeking out Isaiah on the lower level.

He provided truly excellent customer service – really listening to what my concerns were and so knowledgeable, helpful and patient. This is the kind of customer service that will make me return to Best Buy.

Staff are scammers! Adding a BestBuy membership plan without asking and pretending it's Mandatory is predatory behavior. Trying to explain to me that I can't move my office software to a new laptop and lying to me that I need to buy another license now is is beyond unacceptable. How many people have they already scammed??? Beware of shopping here.

Product was alright, I bought a MacBook air.
However the associate who "helped" me was terrible. Not knowing about how much tax id be charged, giving me a wrong price information about the product and having honestly very bad attitude, even after I made the purchase.
I only completed it the purchase because I knew what I wanted from before and was decided to buy, if it would be on the representative I wouldn't have bought nothing.

It took me 1 hour to exit the store with a product I even already knew the SKU of. Discounts are real, buy you pay the difference with your time and tax of a headache. I entered the store knowing which one I wanted, already knowing that they had on stock because the store at 44th told me to go here to pick it up. When I arrive I was at the first floor looking around to see if someone could help me purchase the computer rapidly but no one made eye contact for 5 minutes... The I went to the second floor, to the computers sector and the same happened but for at least 30 minutes. There was only one busy associate at the counter, and no one else was around to back him up until someone showed up. Then finding the item, invoicing took another while. The associate only spoke to me to try to sell me additional subscriptions and add-ons...

To be honest, don’t even think about coming to this store. Nobody there wants to help — no one has the keys to open the shelves where the products are, and nobody seems to know anything. Really, don’t come to this branch; not only will you have a bad experience, but you also won’t be able to get what you need.

The worst customer service I've ever received in the United States, in the computer department. They made fun of me and wasted my time. I wanted to buy a gaming computer, and they thought I didn't have any money. I absolutely do not recommend this store.

I've spent the past 2 weeks in this store getting told the run around only to find out that employees hide products for themselves. I've came for 2 weeks asking about Pokemon cards and your employees stated that they would receive on Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. Cool, sounds simple right?
No! Completely wrong. You go Wednesday morning, they will say they received the truck and to come back later. You go back later, they will tell you that they have none in stock. It's clear and obvious what's going on. Retail stores are a joke now a days and BEST BUY TAKES THE CAKE. The customer service here sucks if you are buying something the employees are interested in. They don't put limits on any of these items and just allow managers to hide them for friends and family who pay them off the books. BEST BUY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ASAP. Being a girl in this store is like being on a game show you never signed up for... every sales worker is trying to upsell you on something you weren’t even LOOKING for, and definitely not in your budget.

If you’d like to get the absolute worst customer service experience available in NYC…definitely go here. It will make every other situation where you thought you were getting bad customer service, so much better.
Seriously..it’s shocking how so many employees working at the same time seem to be trained to either ignore customers or just be flat out rude to them…including the store manager.

Always solid service here! The staff is helpful and actually knows their stuff — whether you’re looking for a new laptop, headphones, or the latest TV, they make the process easy. The store’s clean, organized, and you can usually find great deals if you check the open-box section. It gets busy sometimes (it’s New York after all), but they handle it well.

Bought a TV online open box in excellent condition. It didn't come with the remote or stand it should come with. Employee giving it to me also didnt verify that it was the correct product. The employee who grabbed the TV claimed he checked it. Brought it 50 blocks home just for it to be completely unusable.

Not crowded. Good range of electronics etc. Online shopping gives you price comparison, features comparison. Store is necessary to check the physical quality of the product. Staff was helpful.

the employees in this best buy are the worst, nobody helped me and when they did they were in the worst mood. do not recommend. i spent more time just standing in the register than being helped. i asked for help more than 4 times to 4 different employees. they gave me a clear bag where everyone could see that i had a laptop inside, i asked for another one and not receive one. i will not come back

Nice big store, not too crowded, workers are nice and helpful. They have that Magnolia part where they sell all those pricey TVs low income families so like to buy after they get those 12K tax returns. A lot of kitchen appliances. Also, you can try different headphones there, be careful of the cooties though.
