Dave is the owner/operator/head mechanic. If Dave can’t fix your car then it can’t be fixed. He’s that good. I’ve been in the auto industry for 50 years. So I know. Dave is also honest. I’ve been using Dave’s since we moved to Glen Cove a year and a half ago. Great service, prompt attention, gets the job done… and without the common gouging that I’ve experienced elsewhere. We had a visitor in town from Canada, just a few weeks ago. On his way from Montreal, his Camry developed a rattle in the front. Dave quickly diagnosed and repaired it for a minimal charge! Very pleased to know there’s someone like Dave in town that I can rely on!

My wife’s car had a rattling noise. She didn’t know what the problem was. Dave’s was nearby so she had them check the vehicle. They did an inspection straight away and found a loose pebble in the tire. Very impressed with their service and didn’t charge.

I called Dave's for a tow because my car wouldn't start after I replaced the battery myself. They sent a repairman instead of a tow truck, he took a quick look, and got my car started in less than a minute!! He wasn't even going to bill me but I insisted he take a tip! After waiting hours and getting delayed ETA times from the tow company I finally called Dave’s Auto Services. The woman who answered the phone was kind and courteous. I brought my GMC to Dave’s Auto Repair for an electrical issue with my heat and air conditioning Unit on my front Dashboard. Dave was very knowledgeable and professional in our conversation about my dilemma. After checking out my car more extensively, he called me at my office to tell me what the problem was and how much the part was going to cost. I gave him the acknowledgment to do it. He got the part the following day and fixed the problem. The cost for the part and labor was very reasonable. I have recommended Dave’s services and will also continue to ,going forward. He’s honest and straightforward and his staff is also top notch.

Taking my car to Dave's is like taking it to family. I trust him completely and know that he will keep me safe on the road. His front desk staff is kind and friendly. He gently lets me know I am driving an older car and won't do any work he thinks is unecessary. His bill is always less than I anticipated. I know nothing about automotive and don't want to, but I know I am never going to be taken advantage of with Dave. Also, he has a wonderful dog.

I have been bringing my truck to Daves since I was having issues with other mechanics not having the knowledge to service my Duramax properly. Also with my lift its hard to find someone with a big enough lift to do alignment but at Daves shop there's never an issue. I was referred to Dave by another garage as probably the only mechanic who would be willing to tackle the a/c problem I was having with my 20 year old VW golf. He spent days repairing it and his price was extremely reasonable. Fast forward to day. Dave has moved to bigger and better premises at 199 Forest Ave, Locust Valley. His business is booming but he still as honest as he was when I first found him and a genius at fixing tough problems. Today he personally spent 30 minutes getting a small tire on a plastic rim to inflate and was ultimately successful. Not only was he thrilled to solve the problem, he refused to take any payment which is so typical of him. He is a treasure!
