Cool place. Live music was fun but, due to the industrial layout of the place, I suppose, the ergonomics was a little weird. Bartenders were fun and attentive. Pretty good whiskey.
I was happy that the Lobster truck was there but there was no place inside to eat. We got a sandwich from the lobster truck, got a drink and went home to eat.
Not disabled friendly. I have to use forearm crutches to get around and they have a giant set of stairs people with disabilities struggle/cant get up
I had to wait outside on my crutch with legs and a back that doesnt work in below freezing on icy steps for at least 45 minutes.
There was no seating available for disabled people either and I was forced to stand for the entire concert which put me in a lot of pain causing my friend and I to have to leave early
There is no ramp either. This is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act
Their website says its wheelchair/disabled accessible, but it was not made obvious anywhere.
The website also says they have a bunch of, "Normal," sized chairs to sit in. According to the ADA that does not count. Disabled accessible seating was based on a first come and first serve. No one is required to give you a seat and all the able bodied people kept taking open spots before I could get there being disabled.
That entrance barely fits a wheel chair and I had to hug my crutches to my side it was so crowded just to get in.
Do not come here if you have physical disabilities they made it clear they dont want disabled people there and everyone at the bar clearly saw me struggling to stand and get around.
Great experience...MADDIE was phenomenal, from the initial phone call to the in person service. The flight was great.. the "base" 80, 100 & 120 proof were all smooth! Highly recommend and the pretzel was served hot with cheese and mustard?
I use to live in fairport so loved local. Since relocating couldn't find a local as good so order on line. 2x a yr and even hosted a tasting among friends and new neighbors and iron smoke won hands down.
Great place for music entertainment and a great place to unwind but as far as the bourbon goes is not good at all in my opinion even cheap jim beam taste better. I don't totally blame them for that as they aren't on a natural spring and the water is what starts the whole process.
This is the place to visit! They have fantastic events and wonderful drinks. The tours are really fun too. You can't beat the wonderful atmosphere and delightful staff. I feel biased because I come to ISD every time I'm in town. I love it! It's a place that feels like family.
Went here to pick up a charity raffle basket and decided to have a couple cocktails. The atmosphere is awesome inside and out with staff to match. We shopped the gift shop and lounged on the furniture that is everywhere for everyone to enjoy, sipping our delicious cocktails. Little did we know that Operation Freedom Ride was having a dog adoption event. We lounged on the couch with a couple more cocktails and a sweet pup named Raven. A couple hours later we left with a couple delicious bottles of Apple Pie and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Whiskey, meat sauce, and a soon addition to our fur baby family, Raven ?. Thank you Iron Smoke for an unforgettable Saturday! Can't wait to go back!
Finally made my way out to this location and it was well worth it. The atmosphere was amazing, love the decor, and the whole vibe of this place is incredible and worth checking out. I ended up trying a few drinks and took home one of their hoodies. Their merchandise is top notch as well.
Wow!!! We visited this weekend and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience at Iron Smoke. We were in NY from Iowa and always try and find distilleries to visit that we've never been to. Iron Smoke is very eclectic, fun and lively and just so cool!! It was completely decorated for Halloween which gave it such a great vibe. Eery and welcoming all at the same time! So many cute and cozy places to sit and enjoy your drink and to visit with friends. They had the Bills game on which seemed to be a great idea as they had many people their enjoying the game. We were told it was the first time - I think it worked for them. It was in a separate area where they usually have bands. Would love to see one here. We had a tasting and some drinks. Both were great. Our bartender Tammy was soo much fun! Knowledge and enthusiastic about all things Iron Smoke! I e also got a great dinner recommendation. Top notch place for everything. Great merch section too which we walked out with several items. A must stop!!
One of the most classy and eclectic places in Rochester to enjoy a night out and hear local bands while sipping award winning small batch whiskey. As a band, it’s one of the best places to play for the stage, sound system and audience. Because of their foresight, this whole area in Fairport has grown after Iron Smoke put down their roots! Don’t miss it.
I stopped by the distillery today- to pick up a couple of bottles of bourbon. They were closed (I had not checked their hours). On my way back to my car I passed a woman who was walking towards the distillery. She stopped me and asked if I wanted to purchase something. Winds up she was their Summer Marketing Intern, Nina. Even though they were supposed to be closed she invited me in, told me all about the place, sold me the bourbon and walked me out. The entire time she was so friendly, happy, informative and professional. Nina's kindness (in helping me even though they were closed) made my experience 5 Stars! I highly recommend going in. Great place and good drinks!
Love this place, it's like hanging out at a friend's house! There are comfy sofas, love seats and arm chairs along with tables of all sizes. The atmosphere is relaxing and dimly lit with candles and lamps. Hungry . . they don't serve food, but bring your own takeout from one of the restaurants located in the Cannery, or whatever you want, it's all good with them. There is a separate large section past the bar area with a huge stage for a band. The night we were there we listened to a 3 man unplugged group in the bar area. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!
*** My first time here!! Amazing!! The vibe to me is if the Industrial Revolution and burlesque had a baby!! The setup is outstanding there is so much room! The drinks are fabulous everything is made in Rochester and of course they have their own special brand of bourbon and whiskey delicious!! The bartenders were fabulous it was extremely packed and I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for a drink they were attentive and all of them so nice! I was even able to make the acquaintance of the owner Tommy who was on site and having just as much fun which is always amazing! The band M80 was playing and I had never seen them this was a perfect way to start the celebration of my birthday I am so grateful that my friend recommended going to Iron Smoke Distillery they're located in Fairport near the canal I will definitely be visiting here again looking forward to the next show and some great drinks with a lot of amazing people thank you so much for making my birthday celebration so memorable!!
Had a truly great time at Iron Smoke. Very cool design , large with almost almost a modern warehouse feel, two rooms semi-divided by a wall so that the sitting bar area and band/dance floor area are separated which makes it a lot easier to talk and get away from the louder music for a bit if you want.
However they had a incredible coverband that’s night M80s, and the place was really bumping.
Good vibes, fast service at the bar despite a pretty busy night, friendly staff.
Very unique drink offerings esp their home-stilled whiskeys - apple pie whiskey was a standout. Would return.
Great atmosphere! Speak easy feel with a sort of Edwardian, romantic vampire novel vibe. A delightful selection of whiskey and bourbons. I had one of the the PB&J cocktails! Sooooo good. Bartenders were all friendly, great service despite being busy, didn’t have to wait at the bar too long before assisted. A must for anyone arriving in Rochester for its eclectic selection of distilleries/breweries!
Only negative was the live music, sitting in for who cancelled, was least to be desired.
An outstanding venue for a small concert. Great service and well made drinks from their own distillery on premises. Last night, we caught the Billy Joel cover band, “the Regular Crowd”. Perfect size for their show. Recommended!
Upon arrival I made a comment to my husband about a cold chill to which the bartender recommended The Bone Warmer. It was DELICIOUS and my husband was so impressed with his Manhattan. We followed those up with a second cocktail and flight and were highly impressed. If we lived in the area we would be here all the time. Great atmosphere, fun bartenders, delicious drinks.
Awesome spirits, cocktails, service and atmosphere. A taste of NOLA or Memphis right here in Fairport, NY. Tommy Brunett and his crew are top notch hosts.
Busy on a Friday night but that's to be expected when there's great live music! Enjoyed the divided space with seating areas inside and out. The cocktails weren't innovative but they did feature their whiskey in multiple ways that would appeal to individual preferences.
