My boyfriend and I visit this place a couple times a month lol such an array of items I especially love it around Christmas time. Staff is always friendly and they always have unique items and Utica Coffee for sale!
I always stop in on the way home from camping. Usually in the fall. I always find a little something. I love all of the stores but this place is a little pricey these days.
Very cool place, the place doesn't stop once you're inside. Brought my kids along and they gave them stickers at checkout, they have way more than just hardware and tools here. Lots of toys, kitchenware, camping stuff etc.
Ridiculous prices thst make no sense. Yes they have a big selection of items to browse, but I’m not sure who would be able to afford any of it. I saw a beautiful dinner plate that cost $60 for one plate. It made me and my family sad because we could not afford anything at all. Only come here if you are literally rich or if you only intend to window shop. Pretty much everything in Old Forge is getting to be the same way. Prices are just out of control.
Best little “general store “ hardware store around! It has been my favorite place to go as a child, and continues to be my favorite place to come and shop when I am in the area! Great selection of housewares and camping accessories, hardwares as well as books! I never leave empty handed! May this store continue to flourish and prosper ❤️✌️?
Really nice lunch spot for us. Think of it like an upscale Chipotle restaurant with better ingredients, better overall combinations, and healthier options. They've got an assortment of drinks and even organic gummies for sale for the kids. The outside seating is nice and there's an oversized connect four game for the kids.
We got a carnitas bowl and a birra Bowl. Both were excellent and highly recommended.
Large clean store, lots of novelty items. (No public rest rooms tho)The store is so large you can get lost in wonderful stuff. Toys, books, yarns, salsa, camping gear, actual hardware supplies. So so much stuff.
THIS STORE NEVER FAILS TI DELIVER! You could literally lose a day in here! SO much to see...camping and fishing gear, funky, off-beat clothing, artisan soaps and of course, must-haves for tourists!! We ALWAYS enjoy stopping by this store!!
A MUST stop store each time we are up north. Friendly staff, they have everything and a great book section (I'm a librarian- it's great!). Christmas part was so cool. Always fun to browse and pet the shop dogs. You won't be disappointed!
The owners obviously don't trust legal permit holders to be in their store while believing some convicted felon carrying a weapon will abide by that sign and turn around. Since they detest us so much and won't allow us to enter and give them our money, why would anybody want to go in there and buy from them? All gun owners should boycott them entirely.
There is so much to explore in this store. More than you can imagine if you have not been here before. I always get the Rainbow Flame Crystals which make for a fun fire to sit around at camp. Be sure and get the iconic Old Forge Hardware sticker too.
Lots of awesome stuff in here! Staff here were extremely helpful and nice- I visited in a Sunday and wished I had came in with plenty of more time to visit in order to see everything in this awesome place. I would recommend at least 1 hour to check everything out. I am planning another trip for 1.5 hours away just to come back and see everything I had missed. The place is absolutely perfect for Christmas shopping!
When visiting upstate NY I always want to come to this store. Absolutely beautiful. So much cool stuff to see and gifts galore. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I could spend my entire day here.
It's a little bit of everything. It's almost overwhelming. The store goes on and on. From food to camping gear to yarn for crafters to puzzles to garden equipment and dishes. Does have a fun photo op outside
Our first visit and we'll definitely stop by again next time we're in the area! A true Adirondack country store with everything you could need under one roof!
Pricey on some things. But, they have EVERYTHING and nothing looks cheap! Staff were awesome and helpful and they had the cutest little section of kids books( huge selection) plus you need one of every new hope mills pancake mix!!! You won't be sorry ?
It's my favorite store in Old Forge! They have just about everything, and things you never see, like these quirky Onion Goggles...how funny. Each year I go, I buy for my daughter's birthday. It's fun
My favorite stop in Old Forge. Their Lodge selection is unbeatable. I always find someone y new and exciting that I can't live without. The bookstore selection is fantastic. There is definitely something for everyone here. A must do!!!
The Old Forge Hardware and General Store is a great place to stop by and take a look around! I've found things I never knew I wanted and more, from cute Adirondack gifts for friends and family, to books, camping supplies, kitchenware, and a surprisingly good line of canned goods. It is true to its slogan "the most general store"!
