Clean and efficient. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a large volume of returns, and the process was smooth and surprisingly quick. We will be visiting this location again in future and will recommend it to others.
The place is always closed for employees to take breaks!!
Constantly understaffed.
They won't hire people who need jobs because of their backgrounds.
They need to get new ownership that will listen to the people coming in for help with their returns!!

After attempting for 2 weeks consistently to return and give this place a chance, one thing remains consistent… they’re not accepting anyone, even when the open sign is on, they’re locked up! anyone looking at this review, I highly recommend the Fultonville facility. They’re friendly and fast! Do not waste the effort to this place!!!! Go to Fultonville!
Should probably update website that they close at 4:30. Friendlier service would help a ton, no need to be rude to customers and lastly, why keep the open sign off all day?
They're inconsistent, you have a 50/50 chance they'll even be there. They leave the open sign on yet will have the doors closed and locked. VERY unprofessional.

I've had a few bad experiences but I keep trying to give them business. Hoping they'll do better. I've been shorted on money a couple times. I let it go now I have over 50 bags. I did a drop off on Thursday. It is now Saturday evening. Still have not gotten a call back and now I'm pretty sure I'm going to get scammed and shorted. So I guess I'm done with this place for now. What a joke. Rude people. Pathetic
Store says open, lady was rude and on her phone with her feet kicked up, told us they close at 4:30 website says 5. Maybe update the website to give more honest customer service.
We stopped to this location this morning around 11am. When we pulled in there was no one in the parking lot and no one waiting with returns inside. We had several bags that any other time they count while we're there. They told my husband he needed to leave the returns and they'd call when they're ready. My husband stopped back around 2:30 this afternoon and they STILL had not touched our returns and they were not busy. The lady told my husband that Sundays usually aren't busy and they'll get to them tomorrow. She then said if they end up busy tomorrow then they wouldn't get to our returns until MONDAY! Now my issue with this is 1) They were NOT busy when we stopped at 11am. 2) We shouldn't have to wait a day or TWO for our returns to be counted and for them to give us our money 3) What happens if our returns get combined with someone else's and we don't get the money we're owed? This is poor business and not to mention they are not the nicest people!
Everytime I come here they tell me I can't bring more than 3 bags of cans and bottles. Why be a can and bottle return place if you have a limit to how many bags you can take?
The first and last time going to this redemption center. Went there with 7 full large bags of cans, and they short-changed us by about by at least $15. I understand that this is a redemption center, but the place was unreasonably kept, and the person that we dealt with was nothing shy of unprofessionalbly rude. I would avoid going here.
Showed up with cans just to be told that it’s too many that they can’t do them right now. All I could do was drop them off. They told me it would be a couple days so after a couple days I started calling and no one would answer the phone. I just happen to show up one day and they said I was informed the wrong information but they would do them Right now. They 100% shorted me, but there was nothing I could do at that point. Definitely recommend not going to this place.
Some of the rudest most horrible employees who think counting bottles is enough to be rude to customers for. I'd really love to talk to the owner about these horrible people.
Terrible service very rude and argumentive young lady who works their well take our service elsewhere when my husband brings in 10 full bags and only get money for 7and then they argue with you like I said better service elsewhere.
when me & one of the girls i work for went to this bottle return yesterday, we had 7-8 bags of bottles, medium sized bags. i work for lexington so i drive a big van. we both brought in a few & it was only 6 bags & the lady working (she had dark brown hair) told us that she could not take anymore bottles. we asked why & she claimed she didn’t want too. my girl (handicapped) said she was being very rude & started crying. the worker made a very rude comment to her, & told us she couldn’t finish our last bag.
I stopped in for the 2nd time this week. Same issue both times. One woman, working alone, who can't do the job. They need to either hire more help or get a new machine sorter. Absolutely ridiculous!
I have gone to the redemption center twice this week just to be turned away because the woman who is working has to clean the machine. The first time I was told to come back in 45 minutes which I waited 1 hour just to be told that she can’t take anymore for the day. This was at 12:30. She only took one gentlemen after cleaning the machine and he only had a few bags.
Today I was turned away again at 11:45 am. She has to clean the machine. This place either has an individual who does not want to work or they need to hire more people.
This place is the worst! They have been caught short changing multiple people. There’s some guy that works there who is constantly trying to tell people he will take no more then two bags of empty’s and turning people away. Don’t know what’s worse, the laziness of a person or the fact the owner lets this happen. Gloversville’s finest right there!
This place is ridiculous. Went there today 4/21/24, and the employee told he could not do more than three small bags because he was the only one working and had a broken finger. So why you there getting paid and not work. SMH people nowadays
I just had my son take bottles back to the shop and they closed and told them that they could not return the rest of the bag of bottles what kinda of business are you people running over there it only 3:30 in the afternoon and on the website it say 5 i will never bring my business there every again and it not the first time this has happened too me very sad that ur employees don’t want to work 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😢
Very unprofessional! Showed up at 9 with 14 small kitchen bags of recyclables and the sign was off and door was locked. There was an older gentleman at the front door that the workers were attempting to shew away because the door was locked. They then opened the door at 9:30 so I grabbed a few bags from the back of my truck to bring in and the one girl had told me they could not take what I had because it was too much but then I watched them service a few other people with bags bigger than mine ! Think this company needs to find some better employees or maybe the owner should be there a few hours or days a week and watch their employees and how they "work"
I arrived at the Bottle & Can Retrieval Center located at 192 N Main Street in Gloversville at 3:39pm on Friday January 5th to return bottles. The hours of operation are posted to be 9:00-5:00 every day of the week. The open sign was not on and a female inside was waving me away. She wouldn’t even come to the door. There was another guy inside with her who appeared to be working there. I will never go there again. A better place to go is Trina’s located at 205 North Perry street, Johnstown 12095. You will be greeted by friendly people. If I could have given a 0 star I would have.
Very Unprofessional, Bottles and Cans everywhere. Ladies Working were mad that i had brought my bottles in because “they wanted to smoke”. Will Never Return Also Shorted me out on money as well. i count as you count hunny
Keep getting shorted out on money from one of the ladies and she’s extremely rude for no reason, I’ve brought less there and have received more back and the past couple times we haven’t gotten nearly anything at all back from decent amount of cans. Last time I go here!!
Young lady was very snotty not accepting bottles didn't have to come with an attitude. Now I know why my grandson doesn't want to get returnables anymore if all your employees act like that I wouldn't want to come here either.
The last 3 weeks the lunch hour has been a different time. Some times there is a note, sometimes there isn’t. We have been jipped out of money when the person couldn’t count correctly. Only reason for the 2 stars is because it’s convenient when it IS open. Get it together people! I know we are all humans and it’s difficult to keep people employed but do better!
