My car was police towed to Dadswells Pembroke Towing, which obviously wasn’t their fault. I was already frustrated about having to pay for the police tow, but I accepted that part and moved on. Unfortunately, the experience with the shop itself was a complete disaster.
When AAA came to pick up my vehicle, the driver went inside to ask where the car and keys were. I had left the keys right on the counter and specifically told them to give them to AAA. Instead of doing the most basic part of their job, the old man behind the counter (who clearly couldn’t be bothered) didn’t even point out the keys sitting right in front of him. Because of that, AAA had to use a come-along to drag my 4x4 onto the trailer, which could easily have caused additional damage to a car that’s already damaged and that I plan to repair.
It gets worse.
About a week later I went back to pick up my keys, and suddenly they were missing. I left my phone number so they could call me when they found them. No call. Weeks go by and I finally call them myself, and suddenly it’s no big deal that they lost my number, and—surprise—my keys are magically sitting right in front of the guy now.
So where exactly were they when:
• AAA came to get the car?
• I personally went in looking for them?
• I left my number for a callback that never happened?
Now the solution is that they’re mailing my keys to me, with zero acknowledgment of the inconvenience, wasted time, or potential damage caused by their incompetence.
If you want poor communication, disorganization, and employees who can’t be bothered to do the bare minimum, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would avoid this towing company entirely if you have any other option.
Avoid Dadswell's Penbrook Towing – Go to Hillman Automotive Instead!
I dropped off my motorhome at Dadswell's Penbrook Towing for a simple inspection and was told it would be done by the end of the day. Later, they said they needed to keep it overnight. The next day, they called and informed me they had done work I never authorized. When I picked up my motorhome, it was damaged — including a rear light that no longer worked (which is required to pass inspection).
I called the following day and spoke with Eric, who admitted they damaged it and even gave me their insurance information. Now they are refusing to pay for the damage they caused. This is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of integrity and accountability.
If you value your vehicle and your peace of mind, do NOT trust Dadswell's Penbrook Towing. They will damage your property, do unauthorized work, and then refuse to make it right.
Instead, take your business to Hillman Automotive and Tire. They are professional, honest, and treat customers with respect — everything Dadswell’s is not.
I broke down on the Thruway last night, freezing cold, snowing, dark and to be honest.... scary. After talking to the Thruway Authority their driver (Benton) showed up, he was kind, reassured me that everything would be okay. Would recommend them 10/10! Thank you!
My RV needed section. A few issues were uncovered. This is the first shop I’ve ha experienced with where the final bill was less thane estimate. Awesome experience!
They towed my husband's car after the accident and were so kind and undemanding when we came to get the items. They even unlocked the car for us. Thank you
While I can't speak to anything mechanical, I can praise the professionalism and assistance I received from Erik. I am a freight broker, and two of our product ended up in a vehicle involved in an accident. Erik was very helpful in providing photographs and videos of our product, arranging for the transloading of the product to a different vehicle, and stayed in communication throughout the whole process. Made my job much easier for which I am grateful!
My car broke down right in front of their shop. I pulled in, and they immediately helped me and got me back on the road, so I could get home safely. The staff was so kind and helpful, friendly and understanding. I will be returning to this shop to have some maintenance work done on my car, they really impressed me! They seem to truly care about people and their cars!
Got stuck in a terrible snow storm, they were out to help me within an hour and had me back rolling in no time. Very friendly and professional.
Hopefully I never need to call them again but if I need a two they will be the first ones I call.
I called them for service, the road service guy didn’t know a damn thing. He wasn’t able to tell me the issue neither he fixed the problem. He said the truck needs to be towed, which he requested thief tow truck. After towing my truck to a shop that they deal and total rip-off. He charged me $1300 for less than 20 miles and damaged my kingpin and front fender.
If you're a local, this company may work for you but if you don't live near by please consider another tow truck company. They seem like nice people but will take jobs knowing they are short staffed. I ended up waiting at the Canadian/American boarder for 7-8 hours for my car. They repeatedly told me it was on its way when it was not. Very unhappy with their lack of empathy and customer service. Hope we never cross paths again.
Friendly and helpful! We called the day before to ask about getting a battery replaced, and they ordered it for us (no deposit required). We arrived earlier than the scheduled time the next day, and they quickly accomodated us. It turns out the issue with our car was not actually that the battery needed replacing, so even after removing the older battery, the service tech put it back in and didn't charge us for the battery (which had been ordered specifically for us), only the labor. We were very impressed with the graciousness!
Well, "luckily" for me- all sarcasm intended- I broke down at a restricted site on the NY Thruway so I was forced to use this company.
I broke down on the NY Thruway exit 48A in Pembroke NY at 9:00PM on a Saturday. I called my roadside assistance company to come tow the vehicle. I was informed that I would have to use this particular company because they had the contract for where I was broke down.
Here's the basics of what happened. I was quoted one price for the tow and told that they would be able to get to fixing the problem on Monday morning.
On Monday morning I went to speak with the "people in charge" to find out when we would be able to get me back on the road.
The owner was outright rude. He acted like someone pee'd on his overcooked steak when I asked him this very simple question.
It was at that point where I decided to have my camper moved to another location to be repaired. You can read my google review regarding his service if you so choose.
So here is where it gets good.
On the night of my tow, I was quoted for a towing price of somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 and change.
When I asked for the bill on Monday morning, the charge was $483.00
The itemized bill was full of eraser marks and crossing out of the original price.
When I submitted the bill to my roadside assistance, they refused payment because of their dirty deeds at Dadswell towing.
DO NOT - I REPEAT- DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES!!
Highly recommend! Fast and very friendly service at a great price. Brandon helped us in a pinch when we were stranded on I-90 while towing our boat. Steve towed our suburban right where we needed & our boat was right behind! You won’t regret calling Dadswell’s Pembroke!
A friend of mine had a issue with her car. Dadswell answered the call and serviced the vehicle in less than 40 minutes total. Helpful office and road staff made the whole car break down allot less stressful for my friend.

I took my 2016 Dodge ram diesel in for an oil change and filters. They didn't change the water separate. I took it back to them. They act like they didn't know what I was talking about. They charge me 400 dollars. I had to take it to someone else.
This place was recommended to me by a friend that knew the owner and the whole process was nothing but an irritation. My motor home was towed there to get ready for the camping season and I had a list of items that I wanted done but all they really did was slap an inspection sticker on it and shipped it out the door. They couldn't even provide me with an invoice showing what they did or didn't do even though I contacted them no fewer than 3 times about getting an invoice. Do not go her if you are looking for quality work done on your vehicle. At one point the manager even told me that he didn't even want to do the job after looking at my vehicle and when my friend talked to the owner and the owner stated he didn't know why he had done that as they hadn't even looked at it.
We were stranded on the toll road with a flat tire on our truck, hauling a 24 foot enclosed car trailer with an antique car inside, and had no way to release the spare (under the truck). They were to our aid in no time. Both drivers were great! After towing truck and trailer back to their shop, they got our tire changed and we were back on the road.

Honest, quick, professional. There for me when things went wrong on the road. Dadswell's had amazing communication, quick response time to get me safely off the interstate, and diagnosed my issue with brutal honesty. Terrific resources provided and literally treated me like a lifetime native of the area. A good mechanic shop is worth their weight in gold - and the honesty here is legit. Thank you.
Needed a tow and had several passengers on a Friday evening. Rob showed up quickly and was very professional and friendly- he put us all at ease and got the job done. Definitely an asset to the company and highly recommended!
Car was towed by the sheriff was told by the local police department that I could come and get my car the next day just bring proper paperwork website says 24hrs I call the next day and was told I would receive a call to come and pick up my vehicle waited 3plus hrs and now I’m told that I can’t get my car on Saturday or Sundays cause they are closed and the man rudely hung up in my face very rude and disrespectful to a customer who paying for a service
We use these guy from picking up stuff we destroy, fixing trucks and tires and towing. I've yet to have any issues with anyone here always professional and cares about the customers they serve. If you're around the buffalo area I I highly recommend them
I had a very positive experience with this company. I had a flat tire and AAA sent this service to take care of me. The driver was very friendly and professional. He took the time to get the spare released from under my pickup bed, which was a bit of a process, and changed out the wheel in single digits weather. They repaired the tire for only $20 and even brought it back to me and put the wheel back on while I was at work.
My daughter's vehicle broke down the other day. and she was stranded with my grandson. I called Dadswell's and the driver was there in less than a half hour. The driver brought them and their car back to their shop, ordered a new alternator and belt, and she was back home with her car fixed before dinner! They treated her like family! I appreciate that! They get five stars from me!!!!
Excellent service. They were here at or a little before time I was given. The driver was very curtious and respectful of both the vehicle and prosperity. I would highly recommend Pembroke Towing.
