North Road Auto was recommended to my daughter by her coworkers at Marist, and I’m so glad she passed the name along to me. I brought in my Volvo for a basic oil change, tire rotation, and inspection, nothing unusual.
I had been going to another mechanic for over 10 years and even gave them a five-star review at one point. I clearly trusted them. But looking back, they should’ve told me they don’t really work on Volvos. North Road found that a seal was missing from my last oil change (done at the other place), and oil had leaked all over the undercarriage. They explained exactly what happened, showed me what they found, cleaned it up without charging me extra, and just got it done right.
They also let me know I needed a new air filter, which should’ve been replaced by Volvo when I bought the car as a certified resale, and definitely should’ve been caught during routine maintenance by the other shop.
I asked a bunch of questions, about my brakes, my tires, the oil situation, and they answered every single one clearly and patiently, without making me feel dumb for asking. Everything made sense. They were honest, thorough, and easy to work with.
I’ll absolutely be back.
John was very helpful, informative and personable. He showed me what needed to be fixed and got it done quickly, and he gave me a cool flashlight keychain!

Daughter (college student) brought car in with brake issues and the North Road team gave an honest assessment, explained the options and costs and did great work to complete the work the next day. I have been taking my Toyota 4Runner for the last 5 years. I have always been satisfied with the service. This is the auto service place where I have been satisfied for all the repairs done on my truck. John and his crew are so professional and always accommodating. Compared to other auto service places in the area North Road Auto shop seems to have reasonable prices. At one time I had a misunderstanding with some of the work which had to be done, of which I did not agree with. John approached me and apologized, and I continued taking my truck to him regardless. I used to take my car to the dealership a little expensive in repairs and since I got to know the North Road Auto shop, I have never gone to any other car repair shops.
They have always been great here. Friendly, attentive service and effective in diagnosing and repairing my vehicles. They make recommendations and provide estimates without any obligation to move forward. They don't constantly call and email reminding you to get service done that they recommend, which is a nice change from other shops. I'd recommend North Road and have recommended it to others as they also work on a wide variety of makes and models.
Moved into the area and was looking for a local shop I can rely on for repair/maintenance of my Honda. I have found NR Auto to be responsible, fair in pricing and very open to my schedule. Don't pass them up !

I've been going to North Road Auto for years! I feel like I can trust them to be honest with me, and they are able to handle my car in a timely manner.
This time, I needed to get my car inspected. In addition to that, I knew my brakes were wearing and that I had a slow leak in my back tire. They recognized the problems, and were able to get me back on the road in a couple of days.

John was very helpful and offered a complete diagnosis of my car and what needed doing immediately vs later on. The work was done quickly, despite not having an appointment. We will be back with any future car repair needs!
After moving across the country, I feared having to find a new auto shop that would have the same kindness and service that I experienced back home, but this shop exceeded my expectations! They are very nice and honest folk who help get you what you need with reasonable pricing! They can get you in quick, work with your personal schedule, and communicate well so you don’t have to worry. Definitely recommend to anyone new in the area or folks passing by who need a fix!
