Was given an appointment of 7/15. I dropped the car off the night before and they wait all day until 45 minutes before they close to finally call me to say ohh it was hot out today and we didn’t get to your car, do you want to reschedule? All I needed was an inspection, tire rotation and oil change. I said I waited around all day and now you call. If I reschedule will you get to it on that day and they said they don’t know?? So unprofessional and very disorganized. They used to be good to go to but now it’s just a mess.
Been going here for repairs at least 10 years. Highly recommend as they're trust worthy, do a great job, very fair with prices as well as friendly & accommodating. Had both side mirror assembly replaced. Not only did they complete the work in a timely manner but they even painted the mirror caps to match the car! I was so happy!
Never going back. Took my car in for some basic maintenance and one specific issue last month, and after a week of having my car for SMALL fixes as I was told after the first day… not only is the one problem still a problem; but they found a small leak that apparently took four whole days to find, they couldn’t update me, and now my car drives funny, the steering jerks, and again… still the SAME problems as before. They not only didn’t fix anything with my car but they actually made it worse to drive.
Horrible communication, bad service as the office ladies had no idea who I was or what my vehicle was EVERY TIME I called; and the gentleman who worked on my car -Kevin- not only avoided my calls after the second day; but was extremely unreliable in his task and overall customer service. they essentially scammed me into paying over $300 for them to keep my car for over a week and do nothing they were asked of after dodging my attempts to communicate.
Avoid this place unless you want a massive headache.
Changing my review from 5 stars to 3 after my last visit. This place is incredibly disorganized, I was lied to about how much I could get in a rebate, and when I suggested that they modernize to at least 2001 and get a computer, the woman on the phone told me she doesn't want a computer. Van Allen does good work, but I would recommend going somewhere else.
I just picked up my truck that broke down my way to work this am and they towed it a mile and charged me 220. And removed my plates who runs a business like that
Also went through my stuff in glove compartment do not recommend
They complained about the 20-25 minutes it would take to get to where I was broken down to tow me when the tire came off my truck. Said it was a long ways from Valatie to 787 in Albany. Waited an hour to find that out. Not helpful at all. Told us to have the person who put the tire on to come and help. Stated it would be 200.00 to do the tow like that would of been a problem for us. Terrible customer service.
So far so good. Had a few community members recommend this place to my family. They’re servicing an Impala’s Stabilitrak and an F-150 with starter and engine issues. Very nice folks in the office. They seem to go out of their way to help. If you need a tow in the Valatie area they’re a good option. Note that it took me a few phone calls before the line connected and started ringing (no busy signal), but that’s not their fault.
I found out they don't work on foreign cars. So if you have a Volvo.. don't bother.. I really don't know how good they are.. my rating is based on my experience.. nice staff..got an appointment quickly.. but no one could help me..
Love these guys ( ladies ).. always fair and honest..have diagnosed several problems in my cars.. only charged for the repairs when they were done..never had to do anything twice ..good people
I went in with my van while on my way home. It was difficult to drive it. Turned out the power steering pump went. They got the parts with a little bit of difficulty (not of their fault) and had my van running in 4 hours. They offered to bring me and my niece to a diner so we could get something to eat and they even gave us a piece of cake from their anniversary celebration. I listened to them dealing with several of their customers. They were friendly and courteous and it was apparent that they cared. Additionally, it was apparent that they were not taking advantage of their customers or overcharging them as well. If I lived in the area, I would take my vehicles there and nowhere else. Thank you to everyone for helping me and my niece get home.
