Don't walk but better to run away from these guys. I had the misfortune a month ago of having them pull my vehicle out of a ditch after a snow storm and tow it 1/2 mile to another shop. About 30 min. total work cost $540. Unfortunately I trusted who the NYSP called for us (somebody knew somebody) and that was mistake one. Mistake two having JR's hook up. My advice call anyone else to do towing for you. Additionally the tow operator was fair at best in the customer service department and definitly didn't want to be working that day. I surmise he must be the owners son or family. Amazingly they have a handful of good reviews on FB which I'm guessing are friends or family members. I'll never understand how small businesses can stay in business for any amount of time when they charged unreasonable fees and lack of customer service. Maybe these guys do a good job with their welding operation and the towing is just a side line. I'd suggest they stick to welding and leave the towing to better outfits.
Took my 20 year old Camry to them, my first time at this shop. I'm hard of hearing and am not sure of the fellow's name, but his lift was not empty so he crawled under my car in the wet drive to assess the problem, gave me an appointment. Another garage had turned down the needed repair (cut out and replace part of the exhaust) as beyond their ability. JR's did it easily and at a fair price. I will use them again. I much prefer a small local shop where you are talking to the owners and the persons that will do the actual work. 5 STARS!
Called and he said he was busy so I made an appointment for an inspection the next Monday morning at 9am. New to the area and never been to Morrisonville, so I was 5 minutes late. But I sat with another older man who was also waiting for about ten minutes until the owner finally came to the shop. He was talking quietly with the other two workers and then walked up to me and said sorry but you were just too late and I have people ahead of you, you will have to reschedule or come back tomorrow. The older man who was waiting yelled out I can come back another time and the owner ignored him, so obviously he did not have an appointment. It also looked very sloppy, many cars, lawnmowers and other things half apart laying around.. We called A+A auto in Champlain he said stop right in and I’ll get your inspection done! I would not recommend J+R’s Auto Repair. We were not 30 minutes late!?? Our appointment was at 9 am when they open and he was no where to be found both mechanics were looking for him! So we waited an extra almost 15 minutes for that. And it's not just vehicles laying around it's many lawnmowers half fixed and parts laying around the owner didn't think I would leave a review so know he's spitting lies,,,, hunny everyone gets reviewed from me and I always tell the truth!
Brought my car in and I couldn't ask for a better and cheaper price if you need anything done with your car Skip the rest and go with the best JRs auto repair
JR is the most down to earth person you could meet. I feel confident when I bring my car in that he will take care of things for a reasonable price. He is a straight shooter and is willing to talk you through things. Great guy amazing shop!
