Receipts for steel rebar was 0.0200 a pound when I checked steel scrap prices they were stated at 0.65 per pound we brought in 1,080 pounds for 21 dollar that's a cheat and a rip off that should net 200 dollars not 21 dollars.
We brought in 218 lbs of #1 and 42 lbs of #2 copper, and the prices were the lowest i have seen all year. I have been to about 30 different scrap yards in 8 different states this year. They all have different prices, obviously, but they have all been between $3.40 to $3.80 a lbs for #2 copper. With one place in Denver paying $4.08 a lbs. I still got all my pay stubs as referance/proof. This place, however, only paid $2.85 for #2 and $3.00 for #1. Putting their prices at the lowest of all I been to this year. This is so far the only one we have been to in the state of NM. So I'll be comparing them to other in the state soon.
Update: I took my next load to "Albuquerque Metal Recycling," which isn't too much farther away. Their prices for #2 copper is $3.10, which is still on the vary low end. It is better, however, if your load is mostly copper or aluminum. I'm doing the math on my last load ( it wasn't a big load) I made an extra $65.00, going the extra 14 miles out of my way.
Ultimately, this won't always be the case as prices everywhere fluctuate. If you want the best prices, and if your load is large enough, sometimes one or the other will be a better option. Need to call ahead of your visit to find out.
This place is great, the workers are great at what they do, fair pricing and nice and clean facility. I recommend this place to all who want to make some money.
This place does really bad business I took some copper over there. Number one guy tried to tell me that they were going to pay me only for number two because it was thin wire total rip off no place ever asked or said that . And on top of it he wanted me to put it in a metal can then weigh it makes no sense don’t do business here take it to Albuquerque.
Horrible place to do business with. I showed up with a small load at 1:45. They advertise they close at 2:00. The employee said I had to be there by 1:30 and be unloaded by 1:45. Why don't they list their closing time as 1:30 then? I don't want to know what hours the employee works. And, this has been a problem several times in the past. They close early for their advertised lunch, and open late from lunch. And, I've experienced the situation when the buildings doors are open in the middle of their advertised time of operation but the gates are locked.
There are places less than ten minutes from them that pay better.
So much for trying to do business locally. I'm done with ACME.
Richard and Darren are amazing people! They are always ready to help. They welcome you with a smile and always greet you with good morning or afternoon. I will continue to go to the Bosque Farms because of the workers you have there.
Great well kept yard, employees know the business and handled my transaction professionally. They even had trashcans ready for me to put my material in for them. when I asked to see a tare weight on the containers reflected on the scale, they had no problem being transparent with the business at hand, and helped me feel confident I wasn't getting ripped off. thanks guys, will be going back with more weight soon.
Horrible customer service. I was a first time customer and to say, I will never go there again. Sign at scale says "Wait, do not honk, WE WILL BE WITH YOU SHORTLY." I waited in my vehicle on the scale 20 minutes. Usually, an associate would greet the customer and see what he has to recycle. I got out to talk to an associate. And an angry
employee screamed at me saying I'm not the only customer. I was in the office and another customer inquired about my situation and the same employee asked what my problem was! The other customer seemed to be surprised at the employees aggressive behavior. NOT A WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS.
I am an elderly disabled woman who had to take some scrap metal for a friend to Acme. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of this business but most impressed by the young man named Darren who came to assist me. He was very professional, courtesy and polite. He took over doing all the unloading with a smile and thanked me for coming by. I wish all business' were run with the same respect and organization and customer care. Thank you Darren and Acme.
I just went to this business with a load of scrap metal.
The fellow who ran the shop was so helpful and very courteous.
He off loaded my truck and made sure the bed was cleaned out.

The gentlemen here were polite and provided great service. What I couldn't drop there, they informed me of where I should go. It wasn't bout money. it was bout customer service!! Awesome and great guys!!! Will always giving my business there!!
