BEFORE COVID AND INTEGRITY WAS LOST BY MANY BUSINBESSES, I WAS A REGULAR CUSTOMER, AND WENT NO WHERE ELSE! I SPENT LOTS OF MONEY THERE. ONE OF MY VEHICLES WOULD NOT START, AND I HAD IT TAKEN TO THEM, THEM KNOWING IT WELL FROM SERVICING IT A NUMBER OF TIMES! I AM A DISABLED VET, SO MOST PHYSICAL THINGS DIFFICULT FOR ME! AFTER 8 DAYS (!!!!!), THEY CALLED ME TO TELL ME THE VEHICLE WAS READY! WHEN I ARRIVED, OI WAS PRESENTED A BILL FOR NEARLY $725.00, FOR THE WORK DONE...A BATTERY REPLACEMENT (8 DAYS)! NOTHING ELSE, MERELY REPLACING A BATTERY! THEY HAD THE KEYS AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO BUT ASK THE OWNER, AND HE GAVE ME SOME NONSENSICAL EXCUSE OF HOW MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE EVERYTHING WAS! KNOWING THAT REALITY WAS NOT IN PLAY IN THE "DISCUSSION". I PAID AND LEFT!
I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE TAKING YOUR VEHICLE TO THESE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU MAY NEED A BATTERY! AS I BEGAN THIS REVIEW, INTERGRITY NOW IN SHORT SUPPLY AT MANY PLACES WE ONCE TRUSTED!
Called for parts for a 2000 town car . Then google maps will take you on a back trail to get there . scrap yard , not a used auto parts place . Drove there . No inventory list , no help in finding vehicle on lot . No lot row numbers . Was told car was back to the left somewhere and couldnt find the car mentioned , but did find an older one that didn’t help me . … found a different make but all cars sit on the ground and are stacked in.. pull & pay had what I needed and was easy to find though it was 2hrs away .
Took some scrap from household projects old heater and other big pieces. Weighed us on way in dumped reweighed made some good lunch money. Kept it out of landfill is big plus!
Absolutely fantastic service. I was treated well, and the prices they said were more than reasonable. 10/10 will be going here for my used car parts.
The only part I will note. In the winter, once the snow melts things get muddy and slippery VERY fast. Also bring a small wagon if you're grabbing more than one thing, chances are you'll have to walk it back to the front.
Anybody who says this place is expensive is just wrong and confused. So you had one anecdotal experience. Big deal. This place is here every day. Are you?
When Mr. Aguirre happened by he noticed me carelessly cutting the wiring to the door I was salvaging with my pocketknife. It seemed wrong at the time, but I had no idea anyone buys wiring harnesses at the junkyard, and I couldn't see an easy way around it, so I just started cutting. With the patience of a Saint, Mr. Aguirre carefully explained that people do salvage wiring, especially from Toyotas. He bent over backwards not to assume that I was a nihilist maniac, and re-explained the situation to me two more times, deliberately calling attention away from my recklessness and bringing it back to the main point - that the wiring harness is worth saving. I have seldom seen diplomatic skills on the level Mr. Aguirre effortlessly employed.
It's nice to have a you pull yard close to Taos. They have a lot of older cars but you have to find them. Yard is not organized in any way and they don't know what they have. They charge half of retail for thier used parts after you pull them. CASH ONLY
