My mother had a MALFUNCTION indicator light flashing on the dashboard of her car. She brought her car to Bennett's Garage in Spring Lake Heights for a diagnostic test. She was so impressed by the outstanding service she was given that I have decided to start bringing my car to Bennett's! My mother used to have the Volvo dealership handle her service. No more! Now my family has a new trutworthy mechanic to service our vehicles. It is maddening to find an honest mechanic! The dealership is a total rip off. Feeling blessed to have found this garage! Will be returning in the future!
Have had very good experiences with this shop its a family owned place very thorough and responsive.
No stringing you along always straight answers and through diagnosis.

Charged $77 me for a complete misdiagnosis. Coolant was leaking and Was told to get the radiator, water pump, belt fixed the parts they listed overpriced I found them for cheaper. These weren't the problem I later found the issue on my own. It was the coolant pipe that was leaking there was no mention of the coolant pipe. Either they couldn't find the leak and decided to fix things that didn't need it or they were going to charge me even more for the problem. It was almost $3000 .
I can't say enough good things about this garage and the owner/staff. Everyone went above and beyond to help us with a major car issue. I don't live close by but I would go out of my way to use them again.
As always Pat and Pat continue to service my vehicle like it was their own - anytime I have a concern or question to my vehicle's needs Bennett's garage is available and transparent with regards to pricing and diagnostic feedback.
I've been coming to Bennett's Garage since the late 1970's when Bill Bennett owned the shop. Recently (February 2022) I came in to have all the fluids changed in my 2013 Honda Ridgeline because I wanted to hold on to the truck for a couple more years and the current mileage was approaching 125K. I asked them their current hourly rate $120/hour. When I brought the truck in expecting to pay the hourly rate plus the cost of the fluids (gear oil, anti freeze, brake fluid etc) I got the call that the truck was ready 2 1/2 hours later! I was expecting a bill for maybe $500.00. Well, my bill was $1400.00 (+)
Moving forward to today. (April 19, 2022)
I brought the truck in for service because they said they would take care of me next time because of the "hosing" I got last time.
I needed an oil change and my tires rotated. I talked to Pat the owner and he said that they rotated my tires for free and to just pay for the oil change. OK, I figured that this was not the best I was hoping for but pay them the $50.00 for the oil change. Bennett's has changed the oil in this truck at least (10) different times and never once was it more than $50.00. I went in to pay the bill and it was for $144.00!!!!
Coast Honda charges me $42.00 for my Oil Change!!
Do yourself a favor and RUN from these SWINDLERS!!!!
Car died on the road and after getting no satisfaction at another garage, I towed car to Bennets Garage. They were able to fix car same day and for much cheaper than the other place quoted me. They were professional, quick to keep me in the loop on details to fix the car, and the results speak for themself... a fixed functional vehicle.
Great service. Friendly, professional, and quick to assess and fix the problem. Everyone I have spoken with from this company is very polite and eager to help. Highly recommend.
My car's brakes suddenly stopped working and my tire place referred me to Bennett's Garage. I called them first thing and they were super helpful about seeing my car. I had to get it towed and within an hour the car was fixed. It only required the replacement of a very small valve, and the total bill was $10! I was expecting a higher charge, and quite honestly, they could have charged me more but didn't. I really appreciated how quickly they serviced my car AND how honest they were with their pricing. I'll definitely be back!
Beware. Unscrupulous business practices.Price gouging. Brought car for an estimate to 3 local auto repair. The first 2 used a diagnostic tool and five minutes later while I was waiting they were able to give me an estimate. When I went to Bennett's (after having been to two prior shops) I was told to leave the car and come back in an hour. Upon returning I was given a quote 3X more than the other shops. I thanked them and said the price was too high. The manager told me it would cost $95 for the estimate. I was NEVER told I would be charged for an estimate nor did I anticipate a charge, as the other local shops gave a fair estimate in five minutes. The owner was rude, unprofessional and told me to "shut up " when I asked for my key. I only wish I had read the reviews prior to contemplating using Bennett's Garage in Spring Lake Heights.
I asked the employee for an estimate for an ECT sensor code. The younger employee (early 30's) said no problem to come back in 1 hr. I come back and he gives me the estimate AND a $95 charge to look at it. The employee NEVER once mentioned he'd charge me to look at it. I received estimates from 3 other mechanics, free of charge. I'm ok with a charge but the man didn't tell me he'd charge me. BEWARE OF HIM CHARGING YOU WITHOUT TELLING YOU. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE!
Bennett’s has been doing the work on our work truck and personal vehicles for as long as I can remember. Nothing but great experiences, extremely friendly staff and super reasonable prices.
Over from UK, aircon packed up, wasn't sure where to go in the Belmar area.I called Bennetts Garage, really friendly, knowledgeable and quick service. The price for the repair was very competitive also. Thanks
