Stopped in the Salem, NJ store a bit after 3PM, on 9/25. Needed a new battery. Don’t know the names of the two dudes who helped me out, but they were super helpful. Put me on to the correct battery, instead of the one I was asking for, and then installed it, quick a ya please. ????
I stopped in Advance Auto Parts in Salem, NJ to get a new gas cap. Advance did not have any in stock. The employee was very helpful and friendly. I have been to this Advance Auto Parts several times and never had a problem. I did order a gas cap and have to go back to pick it up as soon as it's delivered. They do have auto parts and accessories if you ever need something. I love their discounts on products.
The new GM sucks. I had bought a part and it was the only one left at the worldpac warehouse. They received the part and when I went to pick it up it had been shipped back to where it came from after I already had purchased it. Made no sense I will never order from there as long as he's there.
10/4/2023 - update… I had returned the alternator that was not compatible with the car I had and I had received my refund back. Thank you to Julian (District Manager) and Ky the new General Manager for helping me.
Purchase an alternator and it last only a week and ask for replacement. 2nd Altelnator only last for 3days. we end up buying a genuine alternator from a dealer. Then I’m trying to return the alternator to them and the manager doesn’t want to refund my money back!!! Poor manager attitude! Or maybe because I’m Asian lol
Thanks for your respond I just saw it now. Pls help me to return this. The main issue here is the car is V6 and the Altelnator that they keep giving me is for 4cylinder only meaning low Amps.

After the nonchalant experience today they definitely lost me as a customer...I took my business next door...Napa was curtious and didnt let me friend for myself...I only went in for 2 muffler clamps and the sorry customer service guy couldn't even help me just told me they are on side wall...and he didnt have a clue what sized I needed...so I returned other items and went next door to NAPA where I got treated with respect...
The employee's that work here don't worry about customer satisfaction. I walked in with a bad tractor battery and they had no idea how to look it up. The second employee was ask to assist, he walked out from behind the counter pointed at battery rack and told me it would be there. REALLY...I took my bad battery and went next door to NAPA. he looked it right up in the computer and I walked out with a new one. I'll take all of my business next door to NAPA. They do care!!!!!
The kid behind the counter was no help I needed a bulb he looked on the computer n sent me to get what I had no idea what I was looking for.i thought that was the whole idea of them being there to help not stand there eating all his candy n chocolate?
I called Advance not knowing if they allowed in-store pickup. I was immediately put on hold. After hearing about ordering online (which never worked right in the past) and being told to use the app several times by the recorded voice, I hung up. I figured Advance did not want my business. I was treated better by AutoZone. Though it is farther away, it is now my choice store. You let me down, Advance.
I ordered a part online to pick up at store. When I got there I decided I should get a companion part while I was doing the job. I told the guy I had a coupon for my online purchase (not feeling optimistic since it was an online purchases only coupon) and without hesitation the manager (who was nearby) jumped in and said no problem and applied the same discount to my in store purchase. Now that's how you take care of a customer. Kudos Advance Auto, you have certainly earned my repeat patronage.
Thought I would be in and out in order to put oil in my truck, but noooo, I couldn't get the oil cap off. So I went inside and a younger guy around my age came out and helped me without hesitation. This place is filled with really great people. Definitely will be going back.
They were great Very helpful, curtious & friendly. I had a battery installed in my car. I like shopping there I would recommend Advance Auto parts to my family and friends.
The people are nice and they knows there craft, they usually have what I need. Come to think about it so do Amazon. Some of there products are low price. Then again Amazon have more products that are also low price. I guess what I'm saying is, if you have the time and the patients your probably better off saving your money and living your life better by ordering your car parts from Amazon two day shipping. If you don't live better by saving money then Advance Auto is for you.
It's nice to go into an auto parts store where the guys that work there are very knowledgeable. They've always been very helpful with any auto issue or parts needed.(Maybe even gone above and beyond.) And have never tried to sell you more than you need. (If your not sure) They are ALWAYS helpful and I/we have never had a bad experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has auto issues.
Helpful employees and always a quick trip because we receive the correct products in a short amount of time. Nice sized parking lot for even larger vehicles to make it easier for you to park. Would recommend for those who need parts whether a small or large job.
Knowledgeable staff that don't try getting over on you if you're not automobile savvy. Always low prices on oil and oil filters. Wide selection of parts, accessories, and more for your vehicle. If parts are ordered they do not take very long to come in either.
They had what I needed, despite being told by staff to look in entirely the wrong place, but then their computer had the wrong prices based on the shelf signs. Seems like they are small and not a very busy location, so why don't they have their stuff together?
