The last two times I was here My Girlfriend and I were being harassed by the security Guard who Who wears a bulletproof vest and carries handcuffs and a gun. The last time which was last week I was in the Shampoo section in the security guard or whatever he is walked all the way from the front of the entrance to the Shampoo section and literally stood 2 feet away from us. Acting as if he was looking for deodorant. When we finally walked away to pay, he followed us from about 15 feet away and was just watching us. The time before that it was a different security guard and he was stalking us while we were actually checking out and paying. Everyone seems to hate their job there as well. Never again.
I had an experience with one of your associates, Claudia. I needed to help find a product and she would not help me find it. Just told me the aisle but I went to that aisle already. You need to train your associates to be more helpful.
This ShopRite used to filled with joyful and nice people but it seems everytime I come here in the afternoons the store manager she’s short and wears glasses looks to be about mid 45’s always walks around looking angry like she hates her job. People need to change their attitude and be nicer please do something about it other than that the store is nice and is fully stocked
The worst! 30-minute waits in line to check out. Dirty. Disgusting produce. Frozen foods all at entrance, so backtracking is necessary. The most awful, rudest employees. Always out of specials.
I understand the need to change things up but it’s been weeks of chaos trying to find where things are. Two weeks ago you weren’t even moving the signs to let people know where things are. The animal food is separate for cats & dogs and I’m sure that will change. It has been beyond frustrating to shop there. Three of the self check out registers haven’t been working for weeks when I’m there in the morning. I used to love this shop rite but it seems to be messy lately. Hope things change quicker than they are at this point.
Before they use to have manufacturer coupons , it was very nice , but no more , only digital., and more over they have $ 10 purchase. Which is written in tiny letters.
Be prepared to spend your entire afternoon trying to find basic things. By the way, the mayo can be found in the candy aisle, and olives are with the cereal.
The place is close to my residence but I go always , unfortunately they have terrible customer service espe the cold cut department. Everyone there is always in a terrible mood and never smile , espe the women that work the morning. They roll there eyes they get upset when they see me and I been forced too do this today because of. The way one of the ladies sounded towards me arrving this morning and me sending this negative review. In particular the spanish lady that's never happy, if you don't like job go else where good happy people can use your job these days. Hopefully this is seen and something is done because that department needs help.
I was discreetly accused of stealing today. They insert this red tool into my chip scanner to print my receipt before I paid and then were talking about me when they felt embarrassed because my stuff was all on their receipt. ALLLLL. I have been coming to this shop rite for 20 years, and have worked here as a job coach with my students, so it was big slap on the face to be accused like that for a lemonade .. and was indeed in my receipt, since I scanned it towards the beginning and not the end, she took that as I was stealing it and kept asking about the lemonade, and even flipped it to see the name..which was one of the first things scanned. An apology after would have been nice for questioning me on something you’re wrong about. I spend 200+ in this store twice weekly, made me feel very uncomfortable.
I used to enjoy driving here from out of town at Christmas time because the store used to have a great selection and a happy ambiance but a trip yesterday with my wife took our Christmas spirit away. Pan handler outside the door. No selection in baked goods. Too many people only speaking Spanish. And no holiday music. Sad. Won't be going there again.
I’m only leaving a 5 star review because of Cecilia the lady in the deli. She’s the only one that always gets my order right and helps me without an attitude. She’s so awesome not like the Colombian guy in the afternoon that gives you whatever he feels like and worst is nasty when you tell him something.
This was my first visit, and I had a positive experience! The store offers a nice variety of products, with a solid selection of mid-range options. Overall, a good spot for grocery shopping.
I’ve been impressed with the customer service standards of the store. Always friendly to customers and helpful. This has become my “go to” grocery shopping destination. Highly recommended
Meh, it was okay. Our highlight was seeing "Tally", the store had what we needed, it would be nice if they clarified requirements on price tags, workers were a bit curt- but generally expected, if I was in the area I'd go back
I used to love this ShopRite but those days are unfortunately over. They've always had an officer there for thieves but now that's grown into a power trip to harass regular customers. The officer has this power ego that is truly bringing down the morale of the store. If corporate knew what they were doing, they'd stop that immediately. The cop is friends with the lady upfront and now they stand there looking over your shoulder, making me and my children very uncomfortable, rushing us at the self service area, which is not right.
It was NEVER like that. They've always been very kind and polite but for the past year or two, it's slowly become a power issue that I know for sure corporate is unaware of.
I'm not one to do this but i had to call corporate to inform them because this is honestly a dangerous scenario.
It’s actually terribly unfortunate that things had to come down to what they did tonight. My night was once again terrorized and ruined by yet another employee accusing me of not scanning the items underneath my cart. As I was walking out the store this employee approached me immediately saying “you didn’t scan those items” I replied stating that yes, I had scanned them in which she followed up with saying “no you didn’t let me see your receipt”. I demanded I speak with a manager being that this is not the first time it’s happened to me. It’s extremely offensive and discriminatory for whatever reason these employees deem necessary to embarrass their customers. I work for instacart and practically come to this location everyday, it’s unfortunate im now stuck with this constant anxiety of trying to prove I’m not stealing when I’m only trying to do my job. My family and I have always shopped here, it’s sad and traumatizing that this has had to be my experience multiple times. The Manager I spoke with tonight said she would speak to her employees, I really do hope this ends here. After reading other reviews as well, it really goes to show that this is an ongoing situation that needs to be addressed immediately.
On June 2nd, at 9:50pm I was at the self check out aisle, and as I was scanning my items, this employee approached me and basically implied that I hadn’t scanned an item. This has happened multiple times with this particular employee and I’m beginning to feel targeted every time I walk in there and she’s working. Wish I knew her name, all i remember is her glasses and curly short black hair.
I will not be forced to work by having to scan every single item myself at self-checkout. They refuse to have another cashier open beside the express line. 3 front-end employees and 2 more employees standing around at the self-checkout and none of them offered to help me. Mind you, I am spending close to $200 every week at this store. Very unprofessional. I already have a full-time job. Hire more cashiers, or you will continue to lose business.
Boy, have I had it with this store! I used to be thankful that we have a ShopRite store in town, but now I just drive the extra 10 minutes and go to Hoboken. Here are some of the problems I’ve had the past few visits.
In the produce department, the soup vegetables, bagged carrots, and salad kits are always soggy and rotten. There is no point to go there for produce, because they don’t have what I’m looking for, and what’s left is usually a mess.
In the deli department, I have found them selling rotten cheese, covered in mold, in the reduced area. Several times I buy products and discover they’re already rancid. I like buying food that is nearing its expiration to save money and reduce waste. But I found that the food is moldy and inedible often. Never elsewhere.
There is always a long and chaotic line for the customer service area. They seem to never have enough people working, and the people that are working are hostile, and usually don’t provide any form of customer service other than refunds and selling cigarettes. They don’t even like to give out rain checks here. One benefit of the store is that they have the directory on a big billboard in the front, probably so that you don’t have to ask any questions.
All this is to say, this store is most certainly losing business to the other discount retailers nearby. The things that are supposed to separate ShopRite from the other stores, is that it’s a full-service supermarket. But the departments that are supposed to offer full service, are obviously lacking talent, or maybe management the cares?
There’s nothing you can’t get for the same price, or cheaper, at Aldi, Lidl, food bazaar, big lots, or any of the other variety nearby. I started shopping mostly at Acme recently, and I noticed that I’ve been happier to go to the grocery store, and I actually go more frequently.
One shout out to the kids that work up at self check out. They were always friendly and sweet to me. Gave me a reason to smile sometimes after enduring that wicked place.
I used to shop at this store once or twice a week, always, but since I’ve been exploring other grocery options, I realize that I will never step foot in this place again. Which is sad, because I live nearby, and I like the variety that they have. I grew up shopping at ShopRite stores. I feel betrayed that this one is such a dump.
I like this store, it's an old school vibe for me. Lately, the major issue at hand, is the deli department. The workers are really nice and always helpful, no problem with them. There must be a staffing issue because every Monday I go to get my cold cuts for the work week, there are at least 10 or more people ahead of me and only two workers slicing meat. The grab and go variety is unfortunately not as fresh and always the thickest cut meats so that's not an option. Please do better with staffing around your busy times, this is making me go to other Shoprites when I shouldn't have to. This has happened at least 3 Mondays in a row now at around noon.
Management of this location is poor. Store is highly mismanaged. Whoever updates the app to show if items are in stock/available should be fired. Items on sale and advertised as in stock NEVER are. Feels like False Advertising and Bait n Switch. The replacement items will be 2-5x as much. Example this week they advertised boneless skinless chicken breast for 1.79 they had zero items available for this price(website says in stock) the only available chicken breast was 5.99lb more than 3X as much (Meat dept has a sign open 8am to midnight but closed up tight before 7:30) Same with strawberries advertised for 2.99(website says in stock)the only ones in stock were 7.99 nearly 3x as much. Mangoes advertised for .49(website says in stock) only ones available cost 2x as much. No rain checks available because no employees to issue. Morally questionable and borderline illegal. Store is dirty and shelves are bare. This is a weekly thing for this location. After work this evening only one lane was open forcing me to wait nearly 30 minutes. I was ready to walk out especially considering they didn’t have 1/3 of the items I made the trip for. Seriously shopping here is miserable
ShopRite,l. I met this shop in Manhattan on Eighth Ave , 3 years ago . Excellent products of all kinds, competitive prices, and I ate the best rotisserie chicken. I'm sorry now that there is no longer this outlet.
Yesterday I went to the North Bergen ShopRite I was shocked to see that they have outdated meat an outdated milk and they still selling it in this store I took some pictures that you can see when you come to this ShopRite look at the date on the meat milk and everything else
