3 times I got molded meat from them I had to take back . Now look at my lemons just got them the day before yesterday. Literally just drove back up there to take the bad meat back get back home take my lemons out and they are molded as well. Tighten up stop and shop it’ happens to often
Avoid at all costs. I’ve gone here for only 1.5 months and have already gotten 3 rotten steaks and frostbitten food. Complete waste of money and disgusting business.
Generally priced well. Never busy where you’re standing in line long. They allow you to use a “store card” for savings if you don’t have one. Given they are near competing store (Wmart) and yet I still go there says a lot. They have everything you’ll need and honestly I feel like prices better than discount stores like the aforementioned one. The overall price of groceries could come down but that’s everywhere I’d say.
This morning I lost my iPhone wallet case in the Stop n Shop parking lot. I hadn’t realized it until I was at checkout. Of course, I panicked. There was a nice man behind me who offered to pay so I can Venmo him back, which was impossible because my phone was with my wallet. The cashier was very understanding and kind, then cancelled the transaction. I thought I left my wallet in the car, so before leaving the store I stopped at the customer service desk and asked them if someone turned in a wallet with a phone. Someone did! I asked the employee, Joanne , if she could describe the person who turned it in because I wanted to thank them and give them a reward for finding my wallet. It turns out that one of their cart workers, a young man who couldn’t be more than 20 years old, found it and turned it in. I was so grateful for his kind deed!! Thank you Gage (not sure if this is the correct spelling), your honesty, kindness, and caring! Without them, my Mother’s Day would’ve been ruined.
There is something going on with the freezers brought two different brands of milk different times and the milk was sour. I bought the chop meat had a vinegar smell had to bring it back. chicken I had to bring it back .I told the manager about the milk he said well that's the company that delivers it .what does that mean? people are going to get sick
This place looks clean but it's not especially the produce department old moldy expired I saw a woman from produce come out to smoke n went back n didn't wash her hands n you have 10 managers walking around doing absolutely nothing. Only the 1 new manager is good. I recommend Shop Rite in Bayonne produce is fresh every day n there Managers actually work
Have to leave 5 stars for the manager who worked today (Encore, I believe his name was) and the two lovely customer service staff who went out of their way to help me find something I lost. Thank you.
The place is crawling with conspicuous “undercover” security that will follow you from aisle to aisle, pretending to straighten shelves. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. You can’t just mill about the grocery store without feeling like you’re under surveillance. This doesn’t make for a pleasant shopping experience.
I go here mostly for the coinstar or buying raw shrimp for bait when I go fishing.
The store is always full of people which is a good sign, the parking lot is a bit of a pain.
I’ve been to many Stop n Shops over several states. This is one of the better ones. I noticed that some of the items were $1 to $2.49 cheaper than the Stop n Shop in my area. Clean place. Produce looked so fresh that it looked like the fruits were painted. The deli could be better. But all around, good experience.
Clean and easy to navigate, even for my first time there. The employees are very nice and the manager, Sam got a coupon issue straightened out without a problem. They were out of stock on a free item, and gave me a substitute instead. That's the way you handle an issue.
Great place to shop. The supermarket is clean and we'll stocked. The prices are great with every day discounts. Customer service is great. The staff are friendly and are very helpful. They also have great bakery, deli, and seafood sections. And they have a liquor department as well. Car service is always available for those in need of transportation. If you're looking for a great supermarket to supply all your family needs, Stop & Shop is the place to go. I give it two thumbs up!
This place is disgusting! I refuse to touch the produce section I go to a different store for produce. I spend more time looking through the produce section than I do shopping the aisles. It’s repulsive. The onions are soft and there are flies flying around them. I picked one up and dropped it in disgust and a swarm of fruit flies came out. Just on April 12th 2024, I needed strawberries and oranges in a pinch. A five minute trip turned into 10 minutes of me looking through mushy oranges and disgusting strawberries. I finally thought I picked good strawberries. Only to come home and see the top one was caved in and covered in white fur and mold. The entire strawberry. This doesn’t happen overnight this container was sitting there for a long time. I was enraged and went back only for one of the employees to ask me if I checked before leaving? I didn’t know that was my job to check through your produce section to weed out moldy strawberries. Last I checked you are supposed to have someone doing quality control not your customers. I have seen with my own eyes dairy and meet products left on random shelves from customers and most likely returned to the shelves after they spoiled. The deli counter is unclean and the dairy section has had expired goods way to many times to count out for buy. I will never go here again I would rather drive 30 minutes to a good store than ever step foot in that cesspool. Only thing you can count on is boxed goods that they physically can’t mess up.
It was my first time shopping at this place since it was not very convenient for me, but I am impressed. The place was organized and clean. A lady employee (Bakery section) and lady cashier were both nice. I'm very particular with customer service; I give compliments if one deserves, and both employees I have encountered this morning deserved to be noticed and complimented. I would go back, of course.
I've noticed the store has been more organized and easy to find things. Management is very helpful. I had an encounter with a manger Chris who assisted me and was very helpful.
Parking is always easy, store is rarely overly crowded, and food selection is pretty good. This is my go to grocery store for Bayonne. Lidl nearby has better prices overall but significantly less selection of items and no self check out. Shoprite on Ave C has a slightly better selection, prices are slightly higher, but parking there can be a pain and it is usually much more crowded. S&S is the perfect blend of what you need. Easy parking, good prices and selection, and a fast checkout (especially if you use self checkout).
The location is convenient with a large parking lot. Employees, kind and helpful. I appreciate their middle-eastern ingredient section. Some issues, however, make this place far from being a one-stop-shop:
1-Restocking: dozens of products I used to regularly purchase here either take months to restock or are never seen again. I’m pretty sure I bought the last-ever Peter Pan PB 3 yrs ago.
2-Diversity: products are very run-of-the-mill American, fine. But this store could be so much more community-forward if they steered away from products like microwaveable bacon and 20 different brands of white bread, and invest in a produce section more robust and diverse in peppers and herbs. (The current selection is minimal and the quality of the produce is often not good.) A more substantial Asian ingredient section. A more diversified spice section, (there are usually too much of one spice and others are nowhere to be found). And more plant-based alternatives for those of us trying to lower our carbon footprint.
If Stop & Shop were to embrace these improvements, I’d shop here more often, and I know that others, both in Bayonne and JC, would too. Otherwise, it’s a conveniently located store to find the pantry basics.
This place is amazing! We have been going here for 9 years. The food is always fresh. They make everything the way it should be! The store is much cleaner than it used to be. They upgraded a lot of things. I hope someone see this!
I love this pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is very nice and friendly. There is never a line or wait time. The Female pharmacist is always so helpful with my medications and goes out of her way to reach out to doctor/Insurance very fast. The technician there are also amazing. I would highly recommend to get your prescriptions here.
I tried out the shop online and pickup a few times. It is a great, it saves time and you can shop safely from home. Stop and shop has great selections of meats and is stocked up weekly. I like shopping there. The only reason I am giving a three is because the last few times I did not get a receipt and items were either not available or were replaced. The price therefore changes. I still got charged the same on my credit card from the time I placed the order. I did not place a complaint, being that we are all facing hard times and holding a job is important. Still the someone should look into what is going on and how it running.
I'm mostly happy with the store now. In Years Gone by my experience was not very good but they've come a long way to improve cleanliness and prices. They also have an excellent selection to choose from. I like trying Gourmet upscale products every so often. They're a bit stingy when it comes to their flimsy white plastic shopping bags so I suggest bringing your own. Otherwise I recommend this store and give it a good B+.
This place is great! Nice and clean, good selection and service with a smile. This store is well kept and the shelves are managed properly. Produce section is always on point. I've never had a bad experience here. Parking is good. The only negative thing is that you have to make a turnaround on side streets if your traveling towards the Bridge.
This used to be a decent stop and shop. Now The food will go bad before I check out of this mismanaged supermarket. How they only have two check out lanes open during the Sunday afternoon shopping rush is beyond me.
