Great store, good prices, awesome but the cashiers needs to fix her attitudes, very aggressive with customers, the store is going to end up loosing customers over the service..
This is the best store ever!!!!! Sumi, our lovely cashier was so nice and friendly and helped us with our app and explained all the perks Lidl has to offer! She really made our night. We are definitely coming back and hope to see Sumi again!

Had a similar issue as others with the indian cashier. She rushed my groceries and did not give time for me to place my items on the counter, at the time there was no one behind me. Later complained to the customer that came behind me that my groceries were her only problem. This lady really confused me. What is wrong with that lady. I think self service cash registers are less complicated. Management should consider that.
I always go to bayonne store about 2 or 3 times a week One day the cashier lady didn't give me my discount and I always take it but when I said that she was in quick and didn't do after she make a return for all items and scand them again to take my discount I appreciate that but the next time she said you have to scane from phone and she isn't her problem..she was nervous ...now I can't scane from phone and the only thing I can do to put my phone number I was upset about that I don't like someone talk to me like her I'm not young to talk to me like a baby
I was shopping at lidl at around 9:30 pm when I went to, what I believe was, register 2 to pay for my produce. This girl, who works at the cash register, always has an attitude. She said move your my stuff quickly, and advised her conveyor belt does that automatically. When I spoke calmly to her, she said you’re are not my manager. She also threw my receipt at me after I finished paying, but she needs to speak with management because she has a bad attitude all the time. I think she has problems with her self. She needs attention from her management to talk to her about how she behaves with customers.I don’t want her to get fired. She needs more skills with customers satisfaction. I know the store closes at around 10 pm. Maybe she wants to go home. You guys who manage the store, and company know about her behavior. I can go to other stores, but I been a member for a while, and I like to shop there because I like what you sell. This experience has really upset me.

Love my local Lidl compared to the other Food Markets in Bayonne! Their quality is excellent and amazing prices. The store is always stocked up and clean. The store associates are always friendly and helpful, especially Sumi! She’s always patiently taking my huge orders, making conversation, with a big smile. If I run to any problem, she’s there to help and very knowledgeable. & the croissants the best!!!
I went today (Dec 18, 2025 )and I was so pleasantly surprised with how clean and organized the store was and even the parking lot was clear. The shopping carts were being collected consistently making it easy to not only get a cart but to leave one when finished with it, no errant ones sticking out of the collection area or running freely across the parking lot. The produce looked fresh and the aisles so easy to maneuver. When there was more than 3 people standing in a line you would hear the announcement that another cashier was open. I have been out to many stores today and the chaos and disorganization was everywhere - except Lidl. Thank you for having enough people on staff to maintain the store and parking area, it makes such a better shopping experience. It made me think to myself - I really have no need to go to another grocery store. Great job to the Lidl Bayonne Staff!

Considering it's name, it's ironic they have so much! Upkeep seems somewhat questionable as misplaced items in misplaced spaces are common. One of my fave places for good prices.
We went to this address, Bayonne, New Jersey (good store in terms of merchandise and prices), but they had set a price different from the checkout price, and this happened to us. The item was in the correct place. All the items in the section were priced different from the checkout price. When I spoke to the cashier (Amanda), she was extremely rude to us. This was very annoying, unfortunately, until the manager came and was nice.
It's okay. I've been a few times for their baked goods. One time I went because they had a deal on sirloin steak. I saw I was about to be charged the full price instead of the sale price, so I asked the cashier how come. She said I need to use the app, and pressed send on charging me the full price. Unfortunately I had already swiped my card when I caught that, so I couldn't stop it. Instead of $24, I was charged $42. I guess their sales are made difficult to access for this exact reason.
I did sign up for a Lidl account before going. I thought, as with most stores, they'd just need my phone number. How wrong I was.
I wasn’t sure if I should even write this, but after seeing someone else comment about the same cashier, I feel I have to. The Indian cashier was extremely nasty and had a horrible attitude. At the end of my transaction basically dropped the receipt on the table. I had to pick it up. As I was walking away, she actually asked if I had a problem. If I had gone back over to respond, I’m sure it would have turned into a whole different situation and I would have been labeled the aggressor. She seriously needs to fix her attitude.
Sumi was so helpful and kind, I went on a budget and came out with a good amount of items all because she put me on to the app ! Thanks sumi for your excellent service ↔ gained a new customer !
I recently started shopping at this location and have had the best experience in large part because of Sumi! She is very nice and extremely helpful. I appreciate her dedication to providing an excellent shopping experience for customers.
Everyone is nice except the Indian cashier lady is mean, àlways in a bad mood, & unprofessional. She's the reason I don't shop at this Lidl anymore! Everyone else is nice, Cool, & professional. The India cashier lady is the only reason I dong shop at Lidl in Bayõnne no more. Now I just go to Walmart, or ShopRite. & Sometimes the Lidl in Staten Island.
Sumi was amazing .. she helped me sign up so I can get a discount... she really didn't have to .. i really appreciated it so much !!!! She was amazing!
I want to tell the management of this store location that cashier Sumi is a great and helpful person. She is always pleasant and always has a friendly attitude and smile on her face to welcome her customers. This is the way to treat customers.
I love LIDL. We went well out of our way to come here. Got a bunch of groceries and the best energy drink in the world: KONG STRONG!! Prices are always great. Bakery is excellent. And the aisle of shame has very neat stuff. Store typically has very low prices. Closest Lidl to me currently is over 7 hours away, so we always go if there is one nearby. Reminds me of Germany.
Nice store! Any LidL stores - very good products and quality! I bought here in this store some items, everything was very delicious and tasty . Good price, cheaper. A lot of options, big choices. That’s Great Place for all Family!
Just wanted to buy some flowers for a special occasion came in they had exactly what I needed plus more. Check out was fast. Sumi greeted me with a smile and suggested I download the app to save some money. I signed up in less than a minute and was checked out. Saved $5! Thanks Sumi for your customer service!
09/02/2021 I don't know, I really want to give Lidl a higher rating but just can't seem to muster up the reason to do so. Perhaps I came at a bad time as it was quite late in the evening mid week. One of the items I was very interested in getting. Lamb, was lacking in quantity. Other, more ethnic (read German) items - there were not many. I thought they would have had more in this department. I think I'd found more German products at an Aldi. The place was clean, I'll give them that. The store is not all that set up for tractor/trailers as this is what I drive and really can't fault them for that as this store is located more in a non-commercial neighborhood. Yeah, I took a lot of pictures of the wares on the shelf. Just check them prices...about average, I think.
Okay, I'll change my review to 4 stars ... just because I am nice.
