We’ve taken our cars here for years, but this visit was very disappointing. I went in for a routine oil change for my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE and was called and quoted around $500 for oil change + additional work, which I approved. When I picked up the car, the total was over $800. I was never contacted to approve the additional ~$300 in services before the work was done. They later claimed the price increase was because "we selected my husband’s 2018 car when making the reservation", but we have email confirmation showing the reservation was for the 2021. Even if there was confusion, they should have called for approval as soon as they realized the price difference. After reviewing Toyota’s maintenance schedule, several services performed were not due at my mileage (~68k miles). The lack of transparency and consent didn’t sit right.

West Caldwell Bloomfield balanced my tires correctly the First Time, after giving Livingston Firestone, two attempts. Will go here from now on, even though it's twice as far to get there.

I popped in here because something plastic was hanging from under the car, and I asked if they could secure it in order for me to drive home. They did, but they also noticed I had a screw in one of my tires. They were able to put the spare on so I could get home safely. I am deeply appreciative of their help especially since I was an emotional wreck that day over non-car things. More shops need to be trustworthy and caring like they were.

Came in with a noise complaint and Cesar and Mike jumped right on it. Test drove my car within minutes and found and corrected the issue right away they didn’t want to charge me anything i insisted to pay for the time spent on it. They charged me $10 and have a customer for life will be back for future services!!!!!

Bad experience… first, they told me that will be able to finish job by the end of the day, than excuse was that one of mechanic left home earlier. Got my truck next day afternoon, second, they lost my wheel lock adapter (90$ with overnight FedEx)

I know absolutely nothing about cars and called in somewhat of a panic about needing new tires for the winter after going far too long without new ones! I was helped without being taken advantage of and any questions I had were answered in ways i understood! Everyone was so nice and the job was done quickly! My car is safe to drive for the winter and I am incredibly grateful for that! Thank you so much! 100000000% recommend!

Updated Review – Documented Proof / Buyer Beware I am posting this updated review because we now have documented proof that contradicts what Firestone initially told us. My father purchased four tires from this Firestone location. He does not speak or read English, but he is very knowledgeable about cars. Months later, two of those tires were completely destroyed due to alignment issues. Initially, we were told that my father “declined” an alignment. That statement is false. After finally locating the original receipt, Firestone’s own invoice clearly states that the alignment was removed by the technician, noted as “technician determined service is not needed.” My father did not decline it. Despite this proof, Firestone has repeatedly failed to follow through after corporate responses promising contact within “two business days.” Multiple emails later, nothing has been resolved. Selling four new tires while removing an alignment — especially when the customer has a language barrier — is unacceptable and puts the customer at risk. The result was premature tire failure and an unsafe vehicle. I am sharing this so other customers are aware: always confirm in writing what services are included or removed, because the consequences fall entirely on you. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and we are deeply disappointed in how Firestone handled it, even after clear documentation was provided.

Updated Review – Beware Unfortunately, I feel obligated to update my review to warn other customers. After explaining the situation again to my father, it has become clear that in order to offer a competitive price compared to other quotes, this Firestone location sold him four tires without including an alignment. This is especially concerning because my father does not speak English. Although he is very knowledgeable about cars, the omission of such an essential service appears to have been done to secure the sale. As a result, two of the tires were completely destroyed within a few months. After my initial review, someone from Bridgestone/Firestone corporate responded publicly, making it appear that the issue would be addressed. However, despite multiple emails and repeated promises that someone would contact us within “two business days,” nothing has been resolved to date. We keep being told the same thing, with no follow-through. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. Customers should be aware that when comparing quotes, alignment may not be included, even though it is critical when installing new tires — and the consequences fall entirely on the customer. ————————————————————————— My father, who does not speak English but is highly knowledgeable about cars, purchased four tires at this Firestone a few months ago. According to manager Jim, my father “declined” an alignment at the time of purchase — something that is absolutely untrue. Jim also stated that he was not present during the transaction, yet insists on relying on that claim. Now, only a few months later, two of the tires are completely damaged due to lack of alignment. When my father returned in good faith to seek assistance under warranty, he was told he must pay over $400 for replacements. This outcome is unreasonable and does not reflect fair dealing or good-faith customer service. My father is a long-time, returning customer who has always purchased alignments for all his vehicles. We respectfully request that Firestone act responsibly and remedy the situation appropriately.

Excellent shop, fast service, I bring my car here for all my tire related needs be it alignments, balance, rotations, flat repairs, tpms sensors and so on! I highly recommend letting Dashon advise any service you need.

when I reached out to the regional manager they did not get back to me or anything. poor customer support and customer service. I do not care if mistakes are made but how you go about fixing the situation is important.

was easy to schedule an appointment; talked to Jim the manager on that day who was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They performed the tire installation very well and helped me to get my summer tires back in protective packaging

I had no appointment and kind of a emergency and went there and to work with Jim is excellent and the best experience you can have and the advice he gave me for my cars was the best about what I need.

Jim provides top-notch service every time I visit Firestone. He’s friendly, highly skilled, the most patient person I know. He takes genuine pride in his work. You can tell he cares about both the customer and the quality of the job and he'll always explain this to you so you understand them. I’ve brought my car here many times and will continue coming back for all future service and recommending Jim to friends and family.

My experience at Firestone was flawless. Jim and the entire staff were very informative & helpful. My car rides better then it has in a long time. I will return to firestone the next time I need service.

This location put on new tires for my Subaru. A++ Service. Jim Ubhaus was extremely professional and helpful. Service was fast, had me out of there before lunchtime. Keep up the great work!

We have three cars in our household and used to have no issues waiting here. I brought in all three in the past month and had to wait for no damned reason. There was a mechanic with a beard back there and they could have just given him our cars. Something isn't right here so we're taking our business to Mavis.

Jim is amazing, mechanic is awesome. However, the only African American guy as receptionist is HORRIBLE. Rude and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Cut me off when I talk, flipped the deal I had with Mr. Jim, framed me for non-existent conversations. The corporate will acknowledge his wrongful behavior and I hope he gets fired from this location, even though it’s its own entity.

I've had my car serviced at this Firestone location 5 total times having had an alignment, wheel balancing, brakes (pads and rotors) as well as alignment. I have found the staff to be fair and honest especially Dashon who was knowledgeable and accommodating.

I am very satisfied with the service. Obviously I'm going to feel bad and must call block service representatives. They Sean McClain and Jim and all the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and I khow was your day and I feel very confident when I move up out of the air that my car is fixed right and they take you a good care of their customers.

Doesn't deserve any stars had to put one star in order to post this review. My husband went to pick up my sons car after a battery replacement. The car had to be reset after the replacement, it wasn't. When questioned, the mechanic got rude and just wanted to leave. The man at the front desk chose to ignore my husband. The customer service has gone down hill at this location. My husband usually deals with Jim who wasn't there. Jim is always knowledgeable, helpful and listens to the customer. The employees who were working tonight were unprofessional, unhelpful and extremely rude.

I wouldn't even give 1 star if I could. I definitely do not recommend it because there are disinterested employees. Although I have an appointment at 18:00, they said it was late, they said come tomorrow at 16:00, they said I came at 16:00 the next day, they said you have no appointment. There are indifferent and rude employees

Great location, Marc the manager and Jim the supervisor are awesome. They took care of my issues Immediately. Jay the lead tech solved a ground wire problem on my van and saved me a ton of money. Thank you Firestone team of West Caldwell, for treating my vehicle as if it where one of your own.
